Santiago is a memetic antagonist making fun of Classic Sonic's design, and how it differs from Sonic's design in the 90’s. In this running gag, Santiago has been described as an impostor who has taken Sonic's place.
Appearance[]
Santiago is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue quills and beige skin, who wears red striped shoes and white gloves.
Despite striking similarities to Sonic, he can be told apart through a number of subtle differences. His color palette is brighter and desaturated, his ears appear longer and more pointed, his shoes are bulkier, and his general physique is shorter with thicker limbs.
Personality[]
While he seems pleasant on the surface, it is a facade. The truth is, Santiago loathes others. He's willing to do anything for his own personal gain, and he doesn't care if anyone gets caught in the crossfire.
While he has a list of associates, most notable one being Carlos (the replacement of Miles “Tails” Prower), his actual stance on them is highly debated. While many do not comment on their relationship, a few have reported Santiago being quite rude and aggressive to his cohorts. The validity of these claims is debatable, but considering the rest of Santiago's crimes, it's not out of the picture.
Despite his villainous actions and his crimes,he has a soft side towards Amy Rose, Sonic's love interest. Whenever he sees Amy, he drops his true personality and gets upon his facade personality, stalking her and attempting to confess his feelings towards Amy, but when he ironically gets rejected,he suddenly drops his facade personality and beats her up as a revenge for rejecting his feelings.

- Santiago can only speak Scandinavian. In order to circumvent this, he doesn't speak all that often.
- Somewhat humorous, the Sonic Twitter account has officially tweeted about Sonic visiting the real life destination of Santiago, Chile.
- The real Sonic has allegedly last been seen on New Years Day of 1998. 1998 is also the time when the Classic style ceased use for the first time, and is the release year of Sonic Adventure.
- Santiago has been acknowledged in the semi-official Roblox game Sonic Speed Simulator, specifically after the release of Classic Sonic. There, graffiti art claims that "Santiago is gone".
