Scooter the Clown is the main antagonist of "Proven Innocent", a 2014 creepypasta by Danatblair. He is a clown who commonly entertained children at parties by handing out balloons, only to one day kidnap a child named Joey from his party. He was later "proven innocent" by another child who idolized him, only to subtly reveal his true nature.

In 2025, Scooter appeared in an SFM adaptation made by 2IdiotGermans, the same channel behind the Serverblight and other creepypasta adaptations like The Spy, Infested, Have You Ever Seen the Shadows Dance?, No Wolves in the Stillwood, and others. He was voiced by YouTuber DragonBolt442 in the adaptation.

Overview[]

Scooter is described as a friendly clown who was adored by the local children. He had a truck that he used to go to events and carry his props, but he notably never used helium tanks to fill up his balloons, instead preferring to fill balloons manually by blowing into them. However, Scooter was truly using his clown persona to cover up his kidnappings, taking advantage of the trust and admirations the children had for him. His motives appeared to be monetary.

Most notably, Scooter was revealed to be inhuman, as his lungs are somehow capable of producing helium. What he is was unrevealed.

In the 2IdiotGermans adaptation, Scooter was depicted using a TF2 RED Scout model wearing clown-themed cosmetics, most notably an unsettling clown mask in the form of a Clown's Cover-Up cosmetic.

Biography[]

Scooter resided in a small town where he was well-known among the populace, and was a very popular children's entertainer. One day, he was entertaining children at a birthday party for a child named Joey, where dozens of kids were present. Scooter kidnapped Joey from the party unseen by everyone, and sometime later that day, left a ransom note inside a helium-filled balloon. The police found the balloon and quickly named Scooter their prime suspect.

One of the kids from Joey's party (named Tim in the 2IdiotGermans adaptation), who looked up to Scooter as a hero, refused to believe Scooter was the culprit and went to the police station, revealing to them that Scooter never used helium pumps. The police, who were an hour away from heading out to arrest Scooter, checked his truck and found that there were never any helium tanks, surprising them and making them remove Scooter from the suspect list.

While walking home from the police station, Scooter intercepted Tim, who was delighted to see him. Scooter personally thanked Tim for exonerating him, and promptly pulled out a badge-shaped balloon, blowing it up with his mouth and giving it to Tim as a token of gratitude. However, when Tim held the balloon, he realized that it was filled with helium, revealing to him that Scooter really was the kidnapper. With that, Scooter wordlessly turned and danced off, blowing more balloons and releasing them into the sky, leaving Tim to ponder with dread how wrong he was about Scooter.
