Scorched (alternatively known as Sonic the Hedgehog) is the main antagonist of Manual Blast.

Appearance[]

Scorched has a large maw full of sharp teeth, giant grey hands, arms, and legs, fused cracked black shoes or feet, and void black eyes. He is seen with pulsing veins.

Personality[]

Scorched believes Hog is the cause of his entire world being destroyed and even swears to make Hog feel the same pain he had felt. He tends to be murderous, as he kills anyone that is important to Hog.

Story[]

Scorched started out his life as the Sonic the Hedgehog, and used to go on his standard adventures in his games. Unfortunately, circumstances would lead to Sonic's entire world being destroyed and reborn in order to make room for a bootleg, costing the lives of everyone Sonic ever knew. The people of the world would be reborn and altered as pale imitations of themselves. copy, Hog. However, this event would cause Sonic's appearance to be torn and mangled, and Sonic's code has become heavily corrupted. Sonic, now known as Scorched, quickly let his ego fuel his mind, and started to believe that Hog was the cause. As Hog would have adventures of his own, Scorched would swear to make Hog feel the same pain that he had once felt. Taking over Hog's body whenever he has the chance, Scorched has been on the hunt, killing each and everyone important to Hog in a misguided and fruitless quest to avenge his fallen friends.

Trivia[]

According to one of the devs, Hog and by extension Scorched were supposed to glitch out as a nod to the story of the cartridge frying and becoming unusable. This was supposed to happen during Hog's transformation into Scorched, and the middle and end of the song, where everything fades away.^[1]
- In the part where the cartridge fries out, Scorched's face will change to different EXE's. These include:
  - Grimeware and Griatos for up.
  - X-Terion and EYX for down.
  - Xenophanes and Cyclops.ISO for left.
  - RE-RUN and Sally_ALT for right
  - Mighty.ZIP and Lord X for his idle.
According to the official .flp file, Scorched's voice during the glitchy segment is actually multiple different characters overlayed on top of each other. These are:
- Scorched
- Xenophanes
- Encore Lord X
- X-Terion
- Needlem0use
- Fatal Error
Manual Blast is outdated in terms of Hog and Scorched's lore.^[2]
