Rumpus, better known as Scrappy, is the overarching antagonist of Five Nights at Yoshi´s. He is a broken down Yoshi that resides in Yoshi's pizza in the backstage and was the one responsible for it's closer

Appearance[]

Scrappy is depicted as an orange Yoshi animatronic with numerous cracks, wear, and other forms of damage. One of his eyes is ripped missing, with the headpiece surrounding that eye also damaged. One of his spines on the back of his head is reduced to an unknown colorful shape. He has yellow sharp, teeth. His right arm is rippedm as well as his entire bottom torso, revealing a power generator inside him. He wears a blue "crystal", has red spines, and wears blue shoes.

Personalit[]

Little is known about his personality, but upon reactivating in Yoshi's Pizza, Scrappy appears to be unintelligent, angry, and rather egotistical, thinking he's more powerful than he really is. This is reflected in the game, as Scrappy thinks he succeeds in his goal by entering the office, only to fall into Bucken-Barry's trap of being jammed, sending him running away.

Behavior[]

Scrappy starts in the Backstage invisible from the camera view, and doesn't move until Night 4. He has the shortest path out of all the animatronics (excluding Chili, jhon, and Inverted Yoshi).

He starts by exiting the Backstage and into the Party Room. For the next move, Scrappy makes a decision whether to attack from the left or the right. He enters the

Left Hall if he chooses left, and the Kitchen (audio only, a robot glitch noise) if he chooses right. He then makes it to either the Left Corner or the Right Corner.

The player must let Scrappy into the Office in order to jam him by leaving the corresponding door open (left door open when in the Left Corner, right door open when in the Right Corner). Once he arrives in the Office, the player has a short amount of time to shock Scrappy with the jammer. If the player succeeds, he runs to the Backstage or the Party Room. If the player fails, Scrappy kills the player.

Alternatively, if you shut the door on Scrappy, he will eventually pound violently on the door, draining power from the power meter. The amount of power depleted will increase the more times Scrappy pounds on the door, making closing the door on Scrappy a bad idea for conserving power.

Trivia[]

Scrappy was originally going to appear in FNAY:R, before it was scrapped (no pun intended)
- In that game, Scrappy would have acted identically to Daniel and Onion.
The original name idea was Scrap-shi, before quickly being changed to Scrappy.
Scrappy freezes when either Daniel or Onion are at a door. However, he doesn't freeze for Chili or Yoshi.
Some players refer to Scrappy as "Scrappy-doo", referencing Scrappy-doo from the Scooby-Doo series. jeb_yoshi was unaware of Scrappy-doo's existence while making Scrappy in FNaY.
Scrappy's "crystal" was originally meant to be a camera.
- This would have played into a mechanic idea for FNaY, with the original idea having a reboot interface with Scrappy's body parts. The player had to disable certain features of Scrappy to prevent him from entering the Office and killing you. This mechanic was tossed for being too complex compared to everything else.
"Scrappy" is a nickname the employees call the character, similar to FNaF 2, where employees call Toy Foxy "the Mangle". His true name is Rumpus.
Scrappy is responsible for the attack of the patrons in the 7/20 ending.
- Unlike Yoshi, Daniel, Onion and Chili, Scrappy isn't an official member of Yoshi's Pizza which explains why the witness couldn't identify him quoting "An unidentified Yoshi mascot"
- Witnesses has describe the animatronic having "numerous tear and was in very bad condition." and "one of his eyes are ripped out" hence matching Scrappy's appearance.
