Shriek is the secondary antagonist of Disney's 70th full-length animated feature film The Lion King: Kopa's Heart, the fourth and final installment of The Lion King franchise.
He is a rogue and sadistic hyena who enjoys hunting other innocent animals, such as rodents and young lions. When One-Eye, Snarl, Chewa and Choyo caught wind of three animals traveling through his territory, he instructed his minions, including Shriek, to catch them, so the animals laid an ambush for Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa, but the three escaped into Monkey Mountain where Simba used the mountain's echo to make a loud roar, which scared off Shriek and the others.
Following the years, when Simba became the new king of the Pride Lands, succeeding his father, Mufasa and his evil uncle, Scar, Shriek and the other predators would join forces with Khãn who is the reason why Scar was evil from the beginning to take back the Pride Lands so they can have their revenge for being exiled, including to get rid of Kopa, the son of Simba and the next heir in line.
He was voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also voiced Lenny and Dab the Dodo in Ice Age, Turbo/King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph, Duke of Weselton in Frozen, Alistair Krei in Big Hero 6 and its sequel TV series, Doctor Phosphorus in Creatures Commando, Duke Weaselton in Zootopia, House Of Tomorrow’s A.I. in The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, Ludo Avarius in Star Vs. The Forces of Evil, and Van Wayne in Powerless.
Appearance[]
Shriek is "ungainly." They have brown-tinted gray fur, with black ears, black eyebrows, black paws, and a black tail. Several dark spots dot their flank, and their underbelly is gray. They have yellow eyes.
Personality[]
Shriek is greedy and gluttonous. He only work for One-Eye out of fear and a desire for food, which is why they are quick to abandon him whenever danger strikes.

Shriek lived in the jungle. At some point in their life, they joined One-Eye's gang of misfit hunters.
One day, One-Eye's vulture minion spotted Simba and his friends, Timon and Pumbaa, trekking through the jungle. After the vulture reported his findings to One-Eye, the leopard commented that only Pumbaa posed a threat to them. He then plotted with his gang to take down and eat the three strangers. Shriek asked what they would do with Simba, and One-Eye told the hyena that they could have the cub.
Under One-Eye's instructions, the gang lured Simba and his friends into an ambush. The friends were soon surrounded, and Pumbaa volunteered to stay behind while his friends made for the safety of Monkey Mountain. When faced with Pumbaa, One-Eye hesitated for a moment, then attacked alongside his minions. Pumbaa managed to escape by slamming into a tree and releasing a hive of bees on his enemies.
After escaping the bees, One-Eye and his followers returned in a rage. With the predators in hot pursuit, Simba and his friends fled into Monkey Mountain. While inside the cave, Simba made a huge, booming roar that scared off One-Eye's followers, including Shriek.
