~ The True King Assistant to the Yellow Leader.
True King Assistant, later known as Sol, is a recurring character in the Minecraft web series Rainbow Quest.
He appears as a minor protagonist in Seasons 1 and 3, a supporting protagonist in Season 2, the main antagonist of Season 4 and a minor antagonist in Seasons 5 and 7.
He is the former assistant to the Yellow King/Leader, who betrayed the kingdom after he was let go of his duty as an assistant. Combined with the trauma of watching the Darkness ravage his kingdom, taking people close to him away, the True King Assistant vowed to protect the Steves by any means necessary, and became the leader of a fanatical organization known as The Corrected Sun.
To get the rest of the kingdom on his side and make it appear as though he was agreed with the Steves' hate, Sol posed as a radical xenophobe, pinning all of the conflicts that had happened in the last few months on the Blue and Indigo Steves. Sol ruined the kingdom from the inside and infiltrated it before capturing the leaders and becoming the new ruler of the kingdom, keeping his facade of a xenophobe on for his people before it backfired and cost him his authority. His final confrontation with Sabre would lead to his identity being revealed and him being imprisoned.
To the people of both the Rainbow Kingdom and his group, Sol poses as a radical xenophobe who despises all Blue and Indigo Steves, holding them accountable for the atrocities committed by numerous Steves, specifically those of Void, Corruption and Soul Steve, who were formerly Blue and Indigo Steves.
In reality, Sol is power-hungry, arrogant, calculating and methodical, only using his organization as a front to mask his true intentions of gaining power. Sol's only purpose for his group was to use them for manipulation. His delusions of power only fueled his arrogant and conceited attitude, making him believe he was truly invincible. Not only is he an egotistical showman, but Sol is an incredibly intelligent person, as he was not only able to manipulate a portion of the Rainbow Kingdom, but he has several contingency plans that work thanks to his assistants, who fell victim to his manipulation, showing just how deceptive he is.
Ultimately, his arrogance proves to be his undoing, as when confronted by people who universally stand up to him and push him out of a position of power, Sol panics and flies into rages. When confronted by the people of the Rainbow Kingdom for his tyranny and is nearly arrested by Sabre, Sol cowardly retreats.
When Sol's identity was finally revealed, he expressed how enraged and frustrated he was with being let go as the Yellow Leader's assistant, rambling on about how he had his life stripped away. The True King Assistant was petty enough to not even look at Sabre when sent to his cell.
Despite his cruelty, Sol was a fairly nice individual when he was an assistant. Although he took too much pride in his work and was extremely serious, he was generally a benevolent person, and watching all the conflicts rising between the Steves and the Darkness drove him to madness, albeit, madness driven by a need to protect people, despite using misleading information and propaganda to do so.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
After his kingdom was ravaged by the Darkness, the True King Assistant came to the Rainbow Kingdom and witnessed as the Darkness was destroyed by Sabre. With the leaders now on Sabre's side, the Yellow King became the Yellow Leader, and since the colorless guards were now the main form of protection, the Yellow Leader let his assistant go, as well as the assistant who worked under Nightmare Steve. The True King Assistant didn't take his forced resignation well, and began to see the leaders much like how he saw the Darkness; things that would take away all that people cared for. Deciding to take revenge against the leaders for letting him go, the True King Assistant donned new attire and became Sol, resenting the Yellow Leader for leaving him with nothing despite everything he did for him.
Sol saw that the Yellow Steves had become infuriated with the actions of Void, Corruption and Soul Steve, due to the fact that they were Blue and Indigo Steves, and decided to give in to their hate, blaming the Blue and Indigo Steves for the numerous threats that have nearly costed the Steves their lives over and over again. With this, Sol founded the Corrected Sun, and although it initially started as a small organization, it grew to become a fully separate faction to the Rainbow Kingdom. Sol planned to use this organization to manipulate the kingdom's citizens, allowing them to give into their racist beliefs, although he didn't care for their beliefs and was only using them to gain power.
Establishing himself[]
Sol eventually made his presence known to the citizens of the Rainbow Kingdom by making a speech, accompanied by two of his elite guards. He announced his name and declared that he was leading an organization that thrived on a different ideology, one that opposed the Rainbow Kingdom's in an act he saw as tyranny. With his motivations known, Sol announced that the Darkness was the fault of the Blue and Indigo Steves, mainly due to Void Steve having originated as a Blue Steve and being the Darkness' creator and leader, alongside Corruption and Soul Steve, who were Indigo and Blue Steves respectively.
Despite the knowledge of the Blue and Indigo Steves, Sabre interjected with the fact that the Yellow Steves, who had been oppressing the Blue and Indigo Steves, had to deal with Nightmare Steve and his tyrannical rule. Sol ignored Sabre's complaints, deciding to point him out specifically since he had been under the Darkness' control for a time. Sabre ordered the colorless guards to arrest Sol, but he continued his speech, trying to paint Sabre as if he wanted to seize control to keep other people silent. With his lies seemingly resonating with the Steves, Sol announced his groups' name before teleporting away, just before the guards could arrest him.
After establishing himself and creating discourse between the Steves and the leaders, Sol eventually captured the Yellow and Orange Leaders, leading to the other leaders believing that they'd betrayed the kingdom.
Days later, Sol came back to the kingdom with several of his guards after Sabre attended a meeting. He arrived at the front gate where Sol stood as he revealed that the Yellow and Orange Leaders were with him, making it seem as though they had been manipulated by Sol and had backstabbed the kingdom to join him. Sabre decided that enough was enough and pulled out his sword, threatening to arrest Sol. Sol stated that he wasn't going to fight Sabre and that he had only arrived to brag about the leaders' disappearance. With that, Sol left the kingdom before Sabre could attack him.
Taking over the kingdom[]
Soon enough, Sol was able to infiltrate the Rainbow Kingdom by having several of his guards disguise themselves as colorless guards. With the lockdown initiating on the kingdom, Sol arrived back at the citadel to confront Sabre, Light Steve and the Blue, Indigo and Green Leaders. Sabre confronted Sol about what he had done, although he claimed he was doing the kingdom a favor, and that Sabre was blind to his methods. Sol stated that he was fully confident in believing he could manipulate Sabre and convince the other leaders to join him, and pushed him aside before teleporting the leaders to the underground sewers, seemingly making it appear as though he'd destroy them. Sabre warned Sol that one day he would hunt him down and lock him away where he'd leave him to rot, but Sol dismissed his claims and walked off, officially establishing himself as the kingdom's new emperor.
Sol soon arrived down at the sewers where he had the leaders captured, only to find Sabre in the room, realizing that the leaders hadn't betrayed him and were instead imprisoned by Sol. Sabre confronted Sol as he laughed, seeing that his manipulated had succeeded, albeit temporarily. Sol claimed that the kingdom now belonged to the people, although Sabre could see through his facade, but before he could say anything else, Sol ordered for his arrest, but before that could happen, M showed up in Corrected Sun uniform and attacked Sol, allowing for both of them to escape. Once outside, they were surrounded by multiple guards, and although M tried to short-distance teleport, he wasn't able to, as his powers were somehow being blocked by Sol. Before the guards could arrest Sabre, both he and M were pulled out by Time Steve.
Soon after they had escaped, Sol prepared to make a speech and had several guards surround the interior of the citadel. Unbeknownst to him, Sabre, Light Steve, M and three colorless guards had breached in disguises and held up at the citadel once Sol had finished his speech. Once he finished, Sol was cornered by the group and escorted away, but he managed to get the attention of his guards, alerting them of his capture. While the Corrected Sun guards fought with the undercover colorless guards, Sabre, M and Light Steve used TNT to blow a hole in the kingdom's wall before escaping with Sol.
Unbeknownst to Sabre, Sol had several of his elite guards watching him be carried away. Soon, Sabre reached his and Light Steve's underground bunker where they threw Sol in. Light Steve attempted to remove Sol's mask, leaving his identity up in the air as they locked him away. Although he was trapped, Sol was confident in his eventual escape, as he revealed he had guards watching him being courted out of the kingdom. Sol began counting down from five and when he reached one, several Corrected Sun members stormed the bunker and released Sol before backing Sabre, Light Steve and M into a corner. Sol prepared to have them all arrested and thrown in the cell, but M used his teleportation abilities to teleport his group to the Red Village to recruit the Red Leader.
Downfall and Imprisonment[]
Sabre eventually returns to the Rainbow Kingdom after receiving some knowledge from the Red Leader. Upon stepping through the gates, Sol confronts Sabre as he states he's going to make an announcement, and reveals many of Sol's crimes that had gone unnoticed by the people. Sol tries to shut down Sabre's claims and furiously orders his guards to arrest him, but Sabre keeps revealing more secrets, and showing how Sol was never in it for the people, only himself.
With Sol's actions finally exposed, one by one the Corrected Sun's members begin removing their helmets. The first guard, a Yellow Steve, is threatened by Sol with imprisonment for "treason", however, a Blue and Indigo Steve show up, ready to defend the Yellow Steve, despite being a victim of their racism. Gradually, seeing that their victims were taking their side against Sol, more members begin renouncing what they stood for and remove their helmets in defiance, all whilst Sol is repeatedly trying to convince them to arrest Sabre. Finally, Sabre orders the guards to arrest Sol for treason, but before they can do anything, Sol sprints out of the Rainbow Kingdom and runs away to the sewers, destroying any power or influence he once had over the kingdom.
Eventually, Sabre and Light Steve find Sol in the sewers in the room where he has the leaders imprisoned, standing next to a lever. Sol threatened to pull the lever, which would activate the machine he had them trapped in and would cancel the leaders' powers entirely. Sabre allowed Sol to hit the lever, much to his confusion, but Sol couldn't bring himself to pull the lever, as Sabre knew he wouldn't dare harm his former boss. Sabre addressed the Yellow Leader, apologizing for his assistant falling so low, revealing that Sol was the True King Assistant. Although Sol tried to deny it, it was no use and he was arrested and brought to a machine that stripped his armor away. He angrily confronted the Yellow Leader, expressing how much he resented him for letting him go after all the service he'd given him. The True King Assistant was then escorted to his cell and bid both Sabre and the Yellow Leader farewell, leaving him to sulk.
