Sonic.exe (often styled as Sonic.EXE), often known as X for short, is the titular main antagonist of Irish game developer MY5TCrimson (real name Adam Gavigan)'s Sonic.exe duology.
He is an enigmatic entity that torments people with games resembling the 2D Classic trilogy of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Unlike Sonic himself, Sonic.exe is entirely malicious and desires to take the souls of players for himself.
He is voiced by SheyGrell, who also voiced the original version.
Biography[]
Sonic.exe[]
Sonic.exe plays a major role in the PC/computer/indie game adaptation created by Game Jolt user MY5TCrimson, serving as the titular main antagonist. First the player plays as Tails, and then he will go to "HILL", progressing through the level. The player will soon find dead animals on the ground and in the palm trees. Eventually, Sonic.exe can be seen hiding in one of the trees along with Tails running, then, out of nowhere, Sonic.exe can be seen just standing there as Tails wonders. When Tails gets close to him, static/buzzing sounds can be heard/seen.
The scene later cuts to a level named "HIDE AND SEEK", where Tails is crying while running in a burning Angel Island Zone. Suddenly, Sonic.exe appears and Tails tries to run, but cries when he gets caught, and then Sonic.exe appears and kills him with just one claw. Right after Tails became Sonic.exe's victim, Knuckles takes the place as a player and runs into Scrap Brain Zone entitled "YOU CANT RUN". Again a static effect will appear and blood will appear under the ground. The sky is a hellish shade of red.
Sonic.exe teleports in front of Knuckles with the text "FOUND YOU" and Knuckles is forced to fight Sonic.exe as Sonic.exe toying with him with black smoke surrounding him. Unable to land a punch, Knuckles cries just before Sonic.exe kills him, just like he did with Tails. The last character is Dr. Robotnik; the player spawns in Marble Zone, now labelled as "...". The background resembles a castle, with bloody walls and ghostly blue flames. Robotnik will run down the stairs as the background changes erratically before Sonic.exe kills him. Suddenly a screen will appear with Sonic.exe's face, accompanied with the text "I AM GOD". The game asks if you're ready for round 2. The game over screen appears, depicting the end of the Super Nintendo game Doom in E1M1 in hellish flames, with Sonic.exe running past the mutilated corpses of his victims. Knuckles’ innards resemble bungee cords, with Tails and Robotnik decapitated. Attempting to escape will result in the screen flashing an image of Sonic.exe grinning evilly with his head tilted; “I AM GOD” appearing several times in the background. After the game over screen shows, static appears in 10 seconds, and the screen will switch to a picture of the Japanese text with Sonic.exe in the background, accompanied with the text "I am God" everywhere. Demonic-chanting music is heard throughout.
Secret Ending[]
In order to unlock the secret ending, the player needs to gather three black rings.
- When playing as Tails, the player must continue moving forward until they come across the dead animals on the ground and in the palm trees. After this, the player should head towards the left side. However, static interference occurs when the player goes in that direction. Despite this, they should proceed to an unfamiliar path, which is Angel Island Zone in Sonic 3, where Tails will spot Sonic standing below. Upon touching Sonic, static will appear along with the words "The fire awaits." Tails then returns to HILL and upon going left, they will notice a glowing black ring which Tails collects. It will say "DIE!" once you get the ring in all of the levels.
- When playing as Knuckles, they must follow the same leftward path as Tails. Knuckles will encounter a large pit, and if the player jumps into it, a series of glitches will manifest along with the words "Don't like playing by the rules?". Knuckles proceeds to the "FFFFFFFFF", which is accompanied by a multitude of "hypnotizing" screens. As Knuckles walks forward amidst distorted words, the final message reads "YOU'RE NEXT" before static emerges. Knuckles then returns to "YOU CANT RUN," and upon going left again, they will come across a second glowing black ring, which Knuckles collects.
- When playing as Robotnik, the player should initially head right, but not for long. Afterwards, they should follow the same leftward path as Tails and Knuckles. Upon going left, static interference occurs, transporting Robotnik to an unnamed course. Sonic.exe will say "I will strip your flesh from your body!". The words "Why do you keep fighting? My game has only just begun" appear, followed by another bout of static before Robotnik returns to "...". The player then proceeds left once more and encounters the third black ring, which Robotnik collects.
If the player manages to collect three black rings, the game asks if you are ready for round 2. An game over sign then appears, which has hellish flames in Green Hill Zone, with Tails crying with Sonic running past the ring with the angel's wings with the Sonic.exe title screen, which is saying "Game created by MY5TCrimson" in the bottom left, with the words "SEGA 666" near Sonic.exe. After the game over sign shows, static appears for an second, and the screen will transition to an image, similar to an blurred red version of the zoomed prototype game over screen with Japanese text. This time, the text has been translated into English. An demonic Shingon chant-reminiscent song plays over this, similar to the older versions. It is saying:
- "There is a way to release ourselves. A spell to obtain our souls once more. But we must speak it — but when we speak — No sound. We are all deaf. So failure is inevitable. And I regret ever entering my internal bet with the devil inside of me. Immortality vs. soul snatching. Gary Crook vs. Jake Shanley. Ambition is overrated."
Afterwards, the screen will shift to an unknown static level, and the player will play as Sonic. Progressing towards the right, jumpscare images appear as they haunt the player as they progress, while the words will appear, "You had a chance to comply, but now you've come too far." As Sonic walks in, it mentions Gary and Jake and Kyle and Alice, and "so many more". At the end of the level, the final words appears, proclaiming, "It is time for your soul to join theirs." Subsequently, a Sonic.exe head manifestation will emerge, while Sonic himself vanishes (whether he remains alive or not remains uncertain). A sinister and distorted laughter permeates the air, with an static, followed by the appearance of the Japanese message, amidst an drop of static. The message translates to this:
- "I was killed, massacred, killed in anger. I killed until all my strength was gone. And yet they rose to torture me. Die for the devil's only pleasure."
Sally.exe[]
Sonic.exe once again plays a major role in the PC/computer/indie game adaptation created by Game Jolt user MY5TCrimson, serving as the titular main antagonist. When the player opens the file "Sally", it opens the scene of "Sonic the Hedgehog (TV series)" where Sonic kisses Sally and before he could do that, the scene stops and it eventually occurs the "BSOD". During the "BSOD", the screen cuts to black with a static. The screen then shows the "SEGA" logo, but has the black screen instead of the white screen, and the distorted sound effect of people saying "Sega" is heard as well. It cuts back to the title screen, but this time it was dark and changed: the ocean and sky blue color is changed to red (Most likely blood) and black, Sonic being featured in the title is instead replaced by Amy, and corrupted Tails and Knuckles are featured in the title screen.
First the player selects Amy Rose as a playable character and then she will go to "NOT PERFECT", progressing through the level. Amy is just seeing "Sonic", who is just standing here in front of the gray warp ring. When Amy gets closer to him, "Sonic" will then jump into the gray warp ring and so does Amy as well, being transported into the special stage. Once the player reaches the "goal", the screen immediately will change to Sonic.EXE teleporting multiple times with static/buzzing sounds can be heard or seen (similar to that of the original Sonic.EXE game) while killing her offscreen, Amy screams in total pain as she was killed by the demonic blue blur.
Cream takes place as a playable character and runs into a festival called "KIND AND FAIR". The player will soon find the "Power Sneakers" box. When Cream touches the "Power Sneakers" box, she'll spindash quickly into a fast state. There are several "Power Sneakers" boxes, which every time she touches, her speed is immensely increased. Her speed becomes extremely fast, so fast that she couldn't control its speed. At the end of the level, she eventually got hit by a wall of spikes with her realistic blood along with her body parts being splattered all over the floor.
The last character you play as is Sally Acorn; the player spawns into the unknown place full of red fog, now labelled as "______". The background featured Sonic.EXE, along with his previous victims Tails, Knuckles, Dr. Robotnik, Amy Rose and Cream, appearing to be floating on the red fog. The walls are starting to close and poor Sally tries to escape, but this fails miserably with Sally Acorn finally being crushed to death. The screen flashes red, with the words "Sonic, my love", before the screen cut to red static. It cuts back to the scene of "Sonic the Hedgehog (TV series)" where Sonic kisses Sally, "Sonic" finally kisses her, while Sonic and Sally are kissing, scene changes with Sonic turned into Sonic.EXE and the entire screen turned red. Then, an "authentic" image of Sally appeared on the screen. This Sally Acorn has her eyes stitched shut while smiling, a loud screech is heard and a red-colored static suddenly appears where Sonic.EXE is heard laughing. The game over screen depicts an unknown place with full of stalagmites with fire, along with Sally appearing in the game over screen while still having her stitched-shut eyes. The same music in the screen is Sonic.exe's.
Personality[]
Much like the original iteration, Sonic.exe is a sadistic, twisted, vile, warped, vicious, heartless and very cruel. Sonic.exe sways from the original Sonic's personality in every way, instead of being jovial and caring, this Sonic is sadistic and will make sure anybody suffers under his wrath.

Trivia[]
- This interpretation of Sonic.exe serves as the primary inspiration for future derivatives of the character, most notably J.B.M.'s version, Sark, and the new canonical X from SONIC 2011.
- Interestingly, this iteration was formerly considered as canon by the Creepypasta's author, Jack Cranely (known online as "Sir JC-the-Hyena"), being considered identical to the at-the-time canonical Sonic.exe. However, because of an internal dispute between the two (likely due to Cranely's attitude toward people and the later allegations that would surface about him), MY5TCrimson would cut any ties to Cranley's lore and make this interpretation its own separate character.
- Sonic.exe's bleeding eyes are often inconsistent, as most artwork of him in-game are shown with blood pouring out of them while his sprites do not showcase this trait at all.
- This version of X uses the original outdated pre 2013 design of the character before JC changed the color palette for his version of X in 2013.
- The hidden Japanese messages at the end of Sonic.EXE - The Game may imply that Sonic.exe himself is something of a demonic origin, with cryptic messages pertaining to how "the devil" may be inside of him.
- Weirdly enough, this incarnation of X lacks the iconic grey shoes and dark fur that the original incarnation has.
- This version had much better feedback and criticism compared to JC's versions, as well this version is the most popular version of the character, even more popular and well known than the original.
