Sonic the Hedgehog, also known by the fan name Crazy Sonic, is the main antagonist of the comic We need to talk about Tails by vaporotem.
He was originally a heroic hedgehog, but after seeing Tails the fox shortly after accidentally killing him, Sonic believes him to be some sort of imposter. He then kills one version of Tails after another, causing him to go insane in the process.
Personality[]
While not much is known about Sonic before the accident, he was supposedly once like his prime counterpart, being happy, confident and cheerful. However, he did pose a somewhat self centered and jerk attitude, as he refused to let Tails to go get help and leave him at the bottom of the water pit alone and instead forces him to carry him out of said pit despite being tired. This results in Tails dying by falling down onto a bunch of spikes, which gave Sonic a tremendous amount of guilt. This also shows that Sonic genuinely cares about Tails.
After burying the thought to be dead fox, Sonic becomes incredibly paranoid about being found out as the cause for his death. However, when Tails comes back alive, he begins to freak out. He starts to become aggravated after making the accusation that this Tails was a robot built by Robotnik and afterwards, he kills him.
Sometime later, Sonic has killed numerous versions of Tails. This, combined with the extreme paranoia and guilt, has caused him to snap and go fully insane.
History[]
At some unknown point, Sonic and Tails got trapped in a giant pit filled with water. Tails, who was exhausted, offered to fly out and bring back help to save him, but Sonic, due to his extreme aqua phobia, refused and forced Tails to carry him out despite his lack of stamina. The fox cub obliged and did so, but only had enough energy left to throw him on a nearby edge before he fell and landed in a bunch of spikes, killing him. An incredibly guilty and paranoid Sonic then took the body into a nearby forest and buried it, hoping no one would find out.
Not long after, Sonic encountered Knuckles, who asked if he could use Tails for the day as means of extra defense for the Master Emerald. To Sonic's surprise and confusion, Tails had appeared beside the echidna, who asked if he could go with him. Perplexed on how his friend was alive after watching him die, Sonic dismissed him as he ran back to the body that he buried. Sure enough, it was there, much to his frustration.
As Knuckles ran off to chase Rouge after she stole the emerald, Sonic confronts Tails. After getting a brief recap over what happened after he "disappointed him", Sonic snaps and demands to know who he was after revealing that he killed him. After Tails denies the accusations, Sonic comes to the conclusion that this Tails was a robot built by Dr. Robotnik, and approaches the latter as he cracks his knuckles. When Knuckles returns after having regained the Master Emerald and gets into a fight with Mighty the Armadillo after he accidentally punches him, a trail of blood leading into a bush is seen, heavily implying that Sonic beat the fox to death.
After an unknown amount of time, Tails, or at least this version of him, approaches a now completely deranged Sonic sitting on a hill made out of an unknown substance. Tails exclaims that their friends are starting to get worried about him, Robotnik included (although it's only out of boredom). Sonic ignores their concerns and requests that Tails helps him with something, as it's then revealed that he was sitting on a pile of various Tails corpses as past victims he has killed.
