Sonny the Cuckoo Bird is the titular main protagonist of the Vyond video Sonny's KFC Discipline.
He is the mascot of Cocoa Puffs who is one of the last members of the Sugar Mafia after most members were killed in the South Park special The End of Obesity. After his escape, he went to a furry convention to hang out with multiple people, but due to being 62 years old, he was rejected several times. Upon encountering Wile E. Coyote, the latter gives him advice on his unhealthy life and takes him to a low-rated KFC.
However, he is caught and arrested by the police due to Colonel Sanders having set up a trap inside his restaurant. Being testified against for his multiple crimes, he is sentenced to death, but refusing to let himself be executed, he flees the courthouse, leading to a chase where the jury attempt to kill both him and Wile. Even though they escaped, Sonny is betrayed by Wile E., who knocks him off a plane, falling to the ground below before he is sent back to prison.
Appearance[]
Sonny has the same appearance as his South Park counterpart, but his grey hair is briefly shaved off by Foghorn Leghorn.
Personality[]
Sonny is an individual who desperately tries to become a better person and get a more healthy life after most members of the Sugar Mafia he was part of were killed. However, due to his old age, he is rejected several times by others which does irritate him. He is also shown to form a friendship bond with Wile E. Coyote who gives him advice on his unhealthy life and even helps him escape the courthouse, only for the latter to betray him due to the multiple felonies he committed in the past.
He also hates how Wile E. played a joke on him by adding an inappropriate tattoo on his beak, especially since it was against his own will.
Biography[]
Background[]
Sonny's background is the same as his original counterpart, being born in 1962. Before the events of the video and South Park: The End of Obesity, he committed several felonies. At some point, he was seen at an Apple Bees restaurant where he was committing crimes. A prostitute picked him up but didn't do anything due to having AIDS. Afterwards, he sold drugs to high schoolers on the bus, resulting in him being dropped out. During a Veggie Tales special, he called the cast sinful insults after he was accepted to collaborate, which immediately ended the collaboration. At school, he showed violent images during his presentation, thinking it would be a good idea, but this caused the whole class to be traumatized.
He later went at a Cracker Bell restaurant where he met a female clerk who rejected him after he tried to hang out with her, making her uncomfortable. In 2016, he sabotaged one of the engines, Percy, at Sodor Island by putting dynamite next to the rails and detonating it, sending Percy to a far away city. In 2024, he joined the Sugar Mafia, where the events of South Park: The End of Obesity unfolded, ending with most of it's members wiped out as he is left as the only remaining member.
Later, in the present day, at a furry convention, he was being rude to other people and even tried to hook up with youthful people who were dressed as personas, despite being 62 years old at the time, which got him rejected eight times.
Sonny's KFC Discipline[]
Upon visiting another stand in the furry convention, he is rejected for the ninth time, annoying him as he was the famous cereal mascot, but he is reminded that he is 62 years old, which is too old for him to hang out with the personas. He is then forced to leave the convention as he meets Wile E. Coyote, who asks how it went, which he replies that he got rejected once again due to his current look. Wile E. then reminds him that he never stood up for himself and that no one was attracted by him, as the whole world doesn't necessarily revolve around him.
He then tells Sonny to just face it as he never wants to focus on his healthy life after his group was wiped out. However, a cop notices them, with Wile E. asking what Sonny had done this time. As it turns out, Sonny was caught hanging out with a 17 year old cosplayer back at the convention. Not wanting to be arrested, he and Wile E. flee as a chase begins, but the cop is stopped when Sonny pushes a street light down on him, allowing him and Wile E. to escape.
Sonny is then brought to a hair salon owned by Foghorn Leghorn in order to shave off his grey hair and be undetected from the police while becoming a real gentleman. After his hair was shaved off, he was no longer recognized as the mafia member he used to be. The design was not over yet though, as Wile E. suggested Foghorn to add "something special" to Sonny, which turned out to be a weird tattoo, much to his annoyance.
Afterwards, Sonny and Wile E. go to a low-rated KFC to discuss about the situation, to which Sonny tells Wile that he tries his best to become a better person and that he will never do anything weird ever again. The latter then apologizes for the earlier remark as he just got mad over him for being entitled and now just wants to help him out, though he is not capable of getting a relationship due to his age. Sonny then apologizes for doubting him, which Wile appreciates as he has chosen things the right way. As they were about to leave, Wile E. tells Sonny that he has to go to the bathroom quickly and orders him to not go anywhere as he does so.
All of a sudden, Sonny hears someone getting murdered, making him worried as he wonders what happened, seeing nobody inside the restaurant. He then guesses that they are in the kitchen, but as he opens the door, he is confronted with a gruesome sight as he sees that Foghorn Leghorn was decapitated, with his head placed on a pizza. As he gasped at the sight of his friend's death, he is suddenly tazed from behind by Colonel Sanders with a tazer, having set up a trap in order to catch him. The Colonel then calls the police to report that he had found Sonny. Sonny is then taken outside by the police and beaten with bats before being detained and sent to a courthouse.
During his trial, several members of the jury, including Lollipop and Sir Topham Hatt, tell the judge of all the crimes Sonny had committed in the past (with the Cracker Bell clerk throwing her bag at Sonny's face for calling her something not appropriate). Sonny tries to defend himself by saying that Wile E. gave him advice about relationships, but nobody wants to forgive him for what he had done, including Coiny, who finds him guilty for war crimes. The judge then sentences Sonny to death, but as the officers grab him, he knocks them out and starts making his way towards the exit, but the crowd, not wanting to let him get away, attempt to stop him as a battle begins, but he emerges victorious as he goes on to run out of the courthouse, with Coiny ordering everyone to chase him down.
Wile E., who was waiting in his pickup truck outside, is then greeted by Sonny, who orders him to drive away before they get caught. Catty, one of the crowd members and a cosplayer who was seen at the convention earlier, forms a team in order to catch Sonny, starting another battle as he and Wile E. are chased through a desert landscape to reach the airport, where they will be able to escape. Much to the team's efforts at stopping them, they manage to fight them off as Sonny is tossed to a nearby white car. Fiery, having no other solution, throws Bomby at Sonny, knocking him back to the pickup truck.
Coiny then takes out an AK-47 as a last resort and shoots one of the truck's tires, causing Wile E. to lose control of it and crash through a wall in the airport, where they board a private jet to escape. During the flight, Wile E. asks if Sonny remembers the time they first met at Applebee's Cartoon Community event, which he does as he wonders why he is asked that question. He then tells Sonny to follow him to the emergency exit, making him confused as the former tells him that they are not alike. This makes Sonny shocked as he thought that they were a team, but Wile E. reveals that it was his master plan all along, knowing that he was one of the last cereal mascots and that all that time he was committing many felonies, allowing him the opportunity to double-cross him. Sonny is then ejected out of the jet, falling down to the ground below. He then hallucinates as being his younger self in a grassy area with several Windows logos in the background.
While hallucinating, he finds himself back in his jail cell, wearing a strain jacket as he laughs in insanity. Wile E. is then thanked by the police for his efforts of putting Sonny back behind bars.
Trivia[]
- Sonny is the only remaining member of the Sugar Mafia as his portable chopper didn't explode, but in South Park: The End of Obesity, it is shot down by Kyle. This gives the video an alternate outcome if Sonny's chopper did not explode after it was shot down.
