| ~ Soul Steve to Sabre |
Blue Steve, later known as Soul Steve, is a recurring character in the Steve Cinematic Universe.
He serves as a recurring character in Rainbow Quest, serving as a supporting protagonist in Season 1, a major antagonist in Season 3 and a posthumous antagonist in subsequent seasons. He also serves as a posthumous antagonist in Twisted Rainbow.
He is the best friend of the Blue Steve who met Sabre before he became corrupted by the Darkness due to him posing a threat to Void Steve, becoming one of his henchmen.
Personality
Initially, Soul Steve presented himself as a quiet and silent watcher who stalked his foes and watched his plans unfold through the shadows. However, further appearances would cement him as a dangerous and unapologetic force of evil, being arrogant, cocky and fiercely loyal to Void Steve. Soul Steve's aforementioned arrogance is demonstrated numerous times, specifically when confronting Sabre when he starts showing signs of corruption, smugly claiming that his team are the ones making demands. Although he's a powerful threat, Soul Steve is a coward, as shown during the final battle between him and Sabre, where he came to inspect what was going on between him and Corruption Steve and fled the scene to return to the safety of the lair. Sabre demanding Soul Steve to come back and his refusal to do so cements his true persona as a complete and utter coward.
Biography
Falling to the Darkness
For reasons currently unknown, Blue Steve posed a threat to Void Steve's operations to cleanse the world and bring peace, forcing him to send a fleet of Darkness to the Spirit World to take out Blue Steve. The Darkness were successful and were able to corrupt Blue Steve. Sabre and Rainbow Steve were already too late once they arrived, as they found Blue Steve infected and instantly went inside where his friend, a Blue Steve that Sabre had befriended when he first arrived to the Steves' world, was calmly sitting, unaware of what was going on outside. The infected Blue Steve began to break into the house, forcing the three to flea to the overworld.
After the three escaped, Void Steve captured Blue Steve and brought him to his lair where he began to experiment with him, eventually transforming Blue Steve into Soul Steve.
Under Void Steve's rule
Under Void Steve's orders, Soul Steve and his companion Corruption Steve were sent alongside the newly infected Rainbow Steve to the Rainbow Hub to start their task of corrupting Sabre. As they arrived, the two were promptly frozen in time by Time Steve, who then sent them away to parts unknown. Soul Steve would later recover and join Corruption Steve as his partner infected the Yellow Kingdom. The two watched as Sabre was forced to kill an infected guard and left shortly after Sabre noticed the two observing the commotion from atop a mountain.
Soul Steve would later be found in the temple alongside Void and Corruption Steve to prepare for his master's ultimate scheme. As soon as Sabre and Elemental Steve arrived, Void Steve tasked Soul and Corruption Steve to block the exit, to which they did. They then witnessed as Void Steve took the crystals from Rainbow Steve and absorbed them, turning him into Rainbow Void.
Soul was later found at the decoy Rainbow Hub alongside his boss and Corruption Steve, inspecting the hub in search for any remaining Steves, unaware that the real Rainbow Hub was underneath the decoy. Sabre and Time Steve began watching them from outside the walls until they made some noise that alerted Rainbow Void, who set both Corruption and Soul Steve off to inspect the area. Upon turning up empty handed, the three decided to leave, only to reappear behind Sabre and Time Steve with Funny Orange Steve, whom they found wandering around. Soul watched as Rainbow Void murdered Funny Orange Steve, prompting Sabre to fly into a fit of rage as the signs of his corruption became apparent. Soul Steve analyzed, seeing that his corruption was indeed happening. As Sabre angrily pleaded for Void Steve to bring back Funny, Soul Steve smugly retorted by stating that they were the ones making demands. Eventually, Sabre's corruption lead to the full creation of Shadow Sabre, turning Sabre's body into a husk that the Darkness used as a pawn.
Eventually, Sabre snapped out of the corruption and infiltrated Rainbow Void's lair to gain information so he could help the Steves. There he met Soul and Corruption, whom were both tasked with watching Sabre's progress. Sabre was ordered to destroy a nearby Yellow Steve outpost and its inhabitants, but scared them away instead and destroyed the outpost. Corruption and Soul arrived, with the latter commending Sabre in obliterating the outpost before returning to Rainbow Void where they shared their new plan of destroying the newly formed Rainbow Kingdom. After coming to the decision to speed up the attack, Sabre leaves and eventually finds Corruption and Soul Steve near the kingdom preparing to lay siege, and Corruption gives the signal to attack the Rainbow Kingdom. Sabre snaps and uses the Shadow Sword he has on him to destroy the entire fleet of Darkness, causing Soul and Corruption Steve to retreat.
Final Battle and Death
Later on, Soul Steve was made aware of the presence of Sabre, Light Steve and some colorless guards as they confronted Corruption Steve. Soul Steve confronted Sabre, announcing that he was only looking on so he can see how sad Sabre was, calling him a traitor as he cowardly retreated into Rainbow Void's lair.
Sabre ran inside as he called for Soul Steve not to walk away from him, following him inside the lair as he found him halted in the main hallway. Soul Steve had retrieved a netherrite axe as he prepared to fight Sabre, laughing at his threat of not needing to use the Darkness in the Shadow Sword to defeat him. Soul Steve attacked, but his efforts proved fruitless, as Sabre backed Soul Steve into a corner and managed to slay him, putting Blue Steve's soul at peace.
