Spider-Girl is the main antagonist of the analog horror series Sonic Adventure: The Forgotten Files.
She is a character that was planned for Sonic Adventure at an early point of development, but was ultimately scrapped. Spider-Girl schemes to prevent the developers from removing her and other scrapped content, and create a world for her and fellow rejected characters to live in.
Biography[]
At some point during development, Spider-Girl somehow gained fourth-wall awareness, realizing that Sonic Team was removing elements they didn't have time or motivation to implement. She plotted to prevent them from doing so by using the power of Perfect Chaos, and set her eyes on one character in particular - Tikal.
Amy Side Quest[]
The end of the video reveals that at some point after "Hidden Character", Spider-Girl came into contact with Tikal, offering to help her if she followed her instructions. On her behalf, Tikal captured Knuckles and Eggman's souls, and retrieved the Master Emerald shards in their possession, as well as the latter's robots.
Project Sonic Informational VHS Tape[]
Concept art of Spider-Girl is seen in the video.
Terios Adventure Mode[]
Spider-Girl contacts Terios the Hedgehog, offering him her help as well, and has him collect four Chaos Emeralds for her. During his quest, Spider-Girl introduces him to Tikal, who joins him during the retrieval of the fourth Emerald. After that, the two go to the Emerald Shrine, and Spider-Girl declares that their plan was about to come to fruition, and demanded that her minions took out any opposition. As Tikal notices Tails standing at the shrine, she captures his soul as well.
Forgotten Ending[]
While wandering around the Mystic Ruins, Tikal finds a message from Spider-Girl, where she outlines her motivation, noting that she sees great potential for Tikal in particular. When Sonic tries to convince Tikal to abandon her plans, Spider-Girl steps in and persuades the echidna to finish the job instead. Ultimately, Tikal chooses the latter, and Sonic is defeated and thrown off the Angel Island by Spider-Girl's forces. After that, the Master Emerald is fully restored, and the spider uses it to restore Chaos' Perfect form, causing him to destroy Station Square again. Sonic survives, however, and uses the Chaos Emeralds delivered to him by Tikal's abandoned Chao to go Super and fight Chaos. During the fight, Spider-Girl commands the god of destruction and rants about her motivation and plans. When Sonic lands the final blow, the schemer exclaims that with her defeat, she'll never get a chance to become something. After that, Sonic and Tikal restore the game to its correct state, presumably ending Spider-Girl's threat for good.
Trivia[]
- Due to no model of Spider-Girl existing in public access, she never appears on-screen, only as an icon in dialogue windows.
- Low Poly has left several details of the series' lore up to interpretation. This includes whether Spider-Girl was actually a self-aware video game character or a disgruntled developer using her as an avatar.
