You Gems are nothing but worthless, whiny, emotionally insecure, stupid, piece-of-shit-for-brains whores whose only real use in life is to be either fucked or killed! ~ Steven's famous rant about what he really feels about Gems. |
Steven Quartz Universe is the secondary antagonist of Pet Avengers: The Malice of the Maestro and The Maestro Among Us. Contrary to his normally innocent and sweet-hearted canon counterpart, this version of Steven is a cruel, bloodthirsty, megalomaniacal, and barbaric sociopath with an unhealthy hatred strong enough to make Steven want to hurt or kill anyone he sees in his path until he becomes a symbol of fear felt throughout the Multiverse. He is Maestro's right-hand man, or "son", and is utterly devoted to him no matter what challenges they face, or what setbacks befall their paths.
History[]
Most of his life and history remain the same as it was in the cartoons, with some changes. Steven Quartz Universe was the son of former rockstar Greg Universe and former princess of Homeworld Pink Diamond, then operating under the name "Rose Quartz". His mother Pink refused to take responsibility for the colonization of Homeworld, and escaped to Earth after faking her death. There, she formed the Crystal Gems, alongside her former servant Pearl, who was secretly infatuated with her, Garnet, a fusion between Ruby and Sapphire, and Amethyst, a soldier from the Gem factory known as "Kindergarten". After Pink sacrificed her own essence to give birth to Steven, the Crystal Gems and Greg took care of the young Steven like family. In turn, Steven grew up to be an innocent, yet well-meaning young boy who in turn, cared about the Gems like family. As he grew up, he later met and befriended a girl Connie, who he later fell in love with. Ever since Pink's death, Homeworld had been attempting to get their revenge and try to destroy the Earth, but Steven and the Gems always stopped them. Steven even befriended some of them and helped them heal from their past traumas. His life went great until one fateful day when he met the Maestro, who had been posing as an escaped experiment from Homeworld's labs. After saving him, Maestro was taken to the their home, where the Gems expressed their suspicions about him, but Maestro subtly manipulated them into believing he was innocent. Ever since that incident, Maestro lived in their basement, manipulating the Gems and Steven's relationships from behind the scenes, as well as manipulating the leaders of Homeworld, Yellow and Blue Diamond, who were grieving over Pink's death. As well as that, he also masterminded the frequent personal attacks from his psychopathic zombie henchman Sentry and the unwilling assistance of soldiers Peridot, Lapis Lazuli (who Steven had already befriended when they met) and Jasper, a power-hungry soldier from Kindergarten. Every attack was enough to slowly affect Steven's sanity, especially after Sentry took pleasure in devouring anyone he so sees in the city, such as Connie's parents. This continued until Steven finally snapped and almost beat Sentry to death until the Gems and Connie stopped him. Later, Steven learned about Pearl's affections for his mother, and learned of Pink and Rose being the same person. Despite this, Steven was able to grow up into a strong young man. His relationships with both Connie and the Gems also grew stronger, and he was willing to protect them in any way he could. At age 16, he even got his first kiss with Connie. Unfortunately, Maestro wasn't done, and after Ruby proposed to Sapphire, and they had their wedding, to which Maestro hosted, he revealed that he was working with the Diamonds, and had the Gems captured. Steven was hurt with this betrayal, and even threatened to kill him, but Maestro already knew him too well, and knew that Steven didn't have the heart to go through with it, which Steven did exactly as he predicted. He then escaped with Connie, and reached the ship of the Off-Colors, rejected Gem soldiers, and Lars, one of Steven's friends who he revived when he was killed by Carnage. However, Maestro already manipulated Lars into giving up Steven and Connie's location. After getting captured, Maestro reveals his knowledge of the Gems and about his mother's secrets, all while torturing him and the Gems both mentally and physically, even sexually, as he raped Pearl constantly and even forced Steven to participate. Things get worse when Pink was revealed to be still alive, causing Steven to doubt his mother's actions. Maestro then revealed his plans to dominate the Multiverse, and even offered him a chance to rule beside him. Though Steven initially refused, he soon reconsidered the offer. However, after that, his torture got worse, and Steven starts to lose his sanity piece by piece, culminating in Maestro teaching him how to be a "good boy" by dousing his face with lava just enough to loosen his skin and then ripping the flesh off his face with his bare hands. He then tore off his left arm to prevent him from attacking. This completely shattered Steven's sanity, and he began seething with rage and hatred over everything that transpired throughout his life. He then came to the conclusion that his entire life was just a fake and Pearl and Pink were majorly to blame. As a result, he began spitefully blaming the entire Gems for everything, and lashed out at Connie when she tried to calm him down. Maestro then decided to test how much he hated the Gems by having him execute his own mother in front of the entire Homeworld population. The Gems, evil and good, tried to stop him, especially the Crystal Gems, as they try to remind him who he really is, and they still love him after everything that's happened, coupled with Maestro provoking him into pulling the trigger. This continued provocation finally caused Steven to snap, and violently shot his own mother in cold blood. Everyone, good and evil, were horrified, except for Maestro, whose only reaction was cruel, hysterical laughter at the sight. Steven then loses it and tries to kill the Gems without any remorse, almost strangling Pearl to death out of sheer spite. Amethyst gets angered and demands Maestro to let him free, but Maestro reveals that he has never brainwashed him and everything he has been doing was from his choice only. Steven then kills Amethyst and then splits apart Garnet into Ruby and Sapphire and then attempts to kill them both while mocking their love, but was knocked out by Yellow Diamond, who wanted her own revenge on the Gems. Soon, his world was destroyed after Maestro betrayed and killed the Diamonds next. After that, Steven serves as Maestro's "son" and right-hand man. After frequent missions, Steven was mutated by Brajira of the Messiah, and becomes more powerful and aggressive as time goes by. He then proves he is far beyond help and redemption by killing numerous versions of himself and Gems with no mercy and remorse.
To this end, he gleefully killed numerous innocent people, massacred through multiple versions of the Crystal Gems, brutally beats Ryokō to near death and then showing her broken body to everyone who watched it as a warning not to mess with him, attempted to strangle Gamagoori to death with a chain, humiliates Satsuki in front of her Student Council out of sadism, and even murdered younger, still good versions of himself, all without any remorse. To top off his savagery and dishonorable tactics, Steven is also very petty, as he brutally decapitated Weiss Schnee, a teenage girl, just for calling him a mommy's boy, right in front of an entire crowd of heroes, villains, and civilians, relentlessly attempted to kill Adora, Glimmer, and Bow for defeating him, brutally kills a Student Council guard just for looking at him, and brutally crushes the Janitor's skull just for pulling a prank on him. His personality did not improve when he fused with Brajira of the Messiah and kickstarted the subsequent events of The Maestro Among Us. As a matter of fact, Steven only grew more brutal, arrogant, and psychotic, savagely committing his crimes with a smile on his face. He tortured and murdered yet another version of the Crystal Gems, and corrupted many innocent Gems while laughing like a lunatic, then takes the young Steven and Connie hostage when they fused into Stevonnie. He then brutally fights the Crystal Gems with no mercy, slaughtering and corrupting multiple Gems when they try to help, brutalizes and butchers Jasper, painfully corrupting Yellow Diamond, spitefully attempting to kill the Diamonds when they reconcile their differences, and uncaringly tortures that Pearl while smiling sadistically at her agony, promising to kill everyone she loves while she watches helplessly. He then willingly submerges himself with the HATE vial, not caring about the dangerous effects it could bring, and the poisonous effects it wrought upon himself. Upon learning of Blue Pearl caring about another version of himself, he brutally beats her to near death out of sheer spite and sadism. He then sadistically attempts to strangle both Frisk and Asriel, both children, while laughing, only stopping when their mother Toriel tries to stop him, to which he kills her in cold blood immediately after. In the She-Ra crossover, he killed many people, Horde, and Princess alike, robs the Moonstone, and then threatens the teenage Adora that he will return and slaughter every "man, babe, and pup" he sees in his direction, all to spite Adora and Catra. When trapped in the First Ones castle with them, Steven admits that he is beyond help and makes a suicidal gesture to spite Adora. When she convinces him to stop and that he is still a good person, Steven repays her help by threatening to cut Catra's throat and planning to force her to watch her dear friend bleed to death just to see if they really still care about each other, all while gloating about how he wants everything and everyone to suffer as he has. This caused even Willy to tell Steven to let Catra go, even bringing up the fact that she is just a teenager, but Steven doesn't care, only spitefully telling him and Adora "a monster [him] for a monster [Catra]". His depravity doesn't stop there, as he orders a Rebellion fortress occupied by the Horde blown up, not caring that he will end up killing his own allies and his enemies in one fell swoop, and callously abandoning Catra, Adora, Willy, and Scorpia to die while he escapes the fortress. When Adora's horse, Swift Wind, tries to stop him, Steven gets annoyed, and brutally strangles the horse to death and throws his corpse right at Adora and Catra, laughing maniacally as he teleports himself out. When confronted about it by Catra, Steven gets upset and savagely beats her up, spitefully calling her and Scorpia "bitches" before he leaves. Before he does so, however, he has the nerve to tell Hordak that his army is pathetic, and his general is, as he puts it, "an incompetent, insecure, dumbass fuck-up", and that she shouldn't have joined out of pity and should be thrown out in the streets with her family, and even tells her she is completely worthless to everyone she meets. He then helps Willy and Seeker obtain more First Ones technology, uncaring of the damage done to the planet, spitefully abuses Scorpia for her naïveté and incompetence, murders Mermista when she wanted revenge for Willy killing Sea Hawk, threatens to strangle the injured Glimmer, also a teenager, to death if Adora does not listen to Willy's demands, and slashing Perfuma's stomach open when she tries to help Adora after he mows down half of the forest, telling her to stay out of his way next time, "if [she] survives". As well as that, Steven took great joy in insulting Adora and Catra in their cat fight. Perhaps one of his most (if not the most) disgusting crime he committed was when he grievously tortures Adora in front of her friends, Maestro, Willy, and the Horde, and then forcibly possessed her body, corrupting her with his HATE and dominating her mind. Forcing the teenage Adora to endure numerous horrific torture inside her own body while Steven uses her body to fuel himself, he decided to use her own body to kill her friends, and then plots to make Catra watch as he kills "himself" (Adora's body) just to see if she still cares. However, his HATE was severely poisoning him, so Steven was absolutely willing to kill her, and therefore himself, if he dies. Believing that Bow led him into this fate, he forced Bow to make a cure, threatening the hostage Glimmer if he doesn't listen. After doing so, he still refused to let Adora free, even after he promised her freedom if he cures him. When Glimmer threatens Catra in exchange for him to free Adora, Steven was completely unconcerned with her safety and callously goads her to kill her, knowing she doesn't have the heart to do it, and then sadistically mocking her inability to take a life. He then decides to spite Bow by impaling himself/her through the stomach and then leaving her body just so he can torture her more and then watch her die as he has his fun. All this is especially disgusting and horrific as Adora is both a minor and a girl, and Steven is basically killing her to feed his own sadism. He then participates in the cat-and-mouse ambush arranged by the Maestro, smashing through everything he sees in sight, and furiously attempting to kill both Adora and Catra while chasing them. When he gets trapped in a door by a spell concocted by Angella, he spitefully threatens to kill everyone in sight if he is not freed. When he calms down, Steven apparently showed guilt in his actions, but that was really just a sick display of his sadism by saying that he absolutely enjoyed every moment of murdering his family, claiming he did it because they were weak. He then gloats that he will brutally torture both Adora and Catra once he is done with the Rebellion and the Horde, laughing that they will suffer by his hands. When he notices Adora is nowhere to be found, Steven decides to torture her friends in order to force her to come out of hiding, starting with him breaking Bow's fingers and then his arm, and then ripping off his other arm, all while saying he enjoys listening to his screams and even asking him to scream some more. He then sadistically threatens to kill Glimmer right in front of her mother, and after learning of Catra's secret affections for Adora, his only real reaction was cruel, hysterical laughter, completely humiliating both Adora and Catra in front of her own friends and enemies, who listened via radio. When She-Ra willingly comes out, he brutally kills Glimmer right in front of Angella anyway and then steals her powers and destroys the entire village, killing billions. When Scorpia tries to protect Catra and turns on him, Steven remorselessly rips her to pieces after beating her into a bloody pulp, and then leaves her body to rot, saying she is worth nothing. He then temporarily merges with Megabyte to become Blood Corruptus, absolutely ecstatic about the prospect of massacring more people with his new powers. He savagely fights Springtrap and caused massive destruction and gloats about all the death and destruction he plans to make in his new form the entire time. When he loses his Corruptus form to him, Steven again possessed Adora in order to force Catra to participate in a mission to destroy the Underworld. For every time she refuses to listen to him, Steven purposefully mutilates himself, and for every pain and injury he feels, Adora will feel it as a result. Once Adora is freed, she is severely wounded and on the brink of death from the injurious connection between her and Steven. When Asriel, wanting revenge on him for killing his mother, turns against him, Steven brutally kills him, and then attempts to kill the freed Adora and Catra, and then all the monsters in the Underworld, spitefully killing King Bradley in order to steal his Philosopher's Stone in a futile attempt to keep his decaying body under control. Embracing his complete darkness and hatred after killing Malebolgia and escaping from his realm, he "repays" the below-mentioned Superboy-Prime by gruesomely tearing him apart from the inside out as he steals his powers. Later kidnapping yet another version of the Crystal Gems, Steven, deliriously trying to figure out his "weakness", puts his own family through horrendous torture, abusing and torturing them whenever he so feels like it, and even mutilating his own girlfriend Connie's face just because he wanted her to "understand" him. This ends with him attempting to force them to fuse with him as a means of removing his weakness in front of Homeworld's entire population. Later, when the good Steven reveals his crimes to the population and reminds Connie of who she really is, Steven spitefully smashes her family picture and screams about how much he truly hates the Gems. As soon as Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot shows up, Steven orders everyone to kill as much Gems as they could find, and brutalizes every single one of his former friends with no mercy. After Pearl willingly surrenders herself, Steven only calls her weak. However, when Amethyst and Garnet surrendered as well, Steven mentally tortures them after successfully fusing with them and turns into the new Corruptus. He then finalizes his monstrous fusion by absorbing Willy and multiple other villains. As Corruptus, already shows how low he can go by gleefully massacring as many Gems as he can possibly find, all while laughing like a complete maniac. He then proceeded to destroy Homeworld just for fun. As soon as he is confronted by Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth, Steven saw their efforts as hilarious and brutally beats down all three of them, all while mocking their insecurities and flaws as Gems. When Yellow Diamond tries to stop him, Steven just leaps on her face with a murderous smile on his face, and then promptly absorbs her life force without so much as a second thought. After easily defeating them in battle, with multiple casualties and destruction added on to his rampage, he absorbs them as well, and then keeps Jasper and Lapis as Malachite as his own personal slaves. Later he helps Infinite destroy K.O.'s plaza, and giddily attacks his two teenage friends Radicles and Enid, disturbingly telling them that he's gonna "absorb them so hard and forcefully". Later, he attempts a swipe at the Nexus pools themselves, absorbing them into himself as his plans of obtaining total godhood. This made him more powerful and then caused multiple realities to destabilize and consequently destroy multiple innocent lives in the process. After Maestro brought himself back to life after a portal explosion from Hordak, Steven attempts to absorb the portal by himself, destroying himself in the process. After regenerating himself with Maestro's help, Steven easily dominates Homeworld and kills many Gems who tries to defy him. Afterwards, he plans to torture the Gems as part of his own leisure, while Maestro experiments with them more.
Personality[]
“ | Good Steven: You killed them. You became a monster after that. Don't you even remember when you ever felt love and compassion for anyone? Evil Steven: I don't know what you're talking about. Good Steven: Your Connie? Your friends? Your family? Evil Steven: If they were my family, they wouldn't have betrayed me and stood in my way. Good Steven: No, they loved you. Evil Steven: They betrayed me! Good Steven: You betrayed them. And if they were protecting you, then they're weak and worthless, right? You say you are better than us, than the Gems, when really you kill them and abuse everyone else just because you're hurt, and then you want to hurt other people. Worse, you refuse to let anyone help you, because you chose to let all that hate burn your heart away until there's nothing left of you anymore. They were your--our friends, our family. They loved you, and tried to protect you and you just pushed it away like it doesn't matter to you at all. Evil Steven: Those Gems are the real monsters here! I just killed them because they deserve it! Good Steven: They are living beings too! They're not monsters. The only monster I see here is you. |

~ Steven when confronted by his good alternate counterpart on his crimes and how he let his hate and anger corrupt him until he is nothing but a heartless monster with no compassion for anyone. |
Steven was once a kind-hearted, innocent, yet naïve young boy who cared about his family and friends. He was always willing to protect them and holds no grudges against even his enemies. He also cared about his best friend, later girlfriend Connie, who reciprocated the feeling, and viewed the Crystal Gems as his family. He was also willing to follow in his mother's footsteps after her apparent death, but doubted if she did the right thing. As he grew older, his bond with Connie and the Gems became stronger, but so has his doubts about his mother's legacy.
Unfortunately, his loose grip on his sanity was foreshadowed when he almost killed Sentry after he provoked him and accidentally strikes Lapis, but those two were averted. After learning that Pink's irresponsibility and her secrets being hidden from him caused so much misery, Steven began to hate both his mother and the Gems for their perceived "betrayal". His meeting the Maestro and his belief that he could be stronger than any of the Gems only caused Steven to lose his sense of morality, and his eventual brutal torture by the Maestro completely shattered his sanity to the point of no return, to the point where he shot his own mother to death in a psychotic tantrum and remorselessly attempted to kill the beings he once called his family. Though Steven was initially a tragic villain because Maestro tortured him and he completely lost his sanity as a result, even seemingly feeling guilty at first, it was revealed that the remorse was just an act of deception to fool Pearl, and the moment he mercilessly killed Pearl was the moment that he completely lost any redeeming or sympathetic qualities he may have still had by then.
Now that he had entirely lost his sanity and innocence, Steven easily became an incredibly aggressive, sadistic, sarcastic, brutal, arrogant, and sociopathic monster who is ruthlessly consumed with hatred and spite for everything and everyone and holds no regards to anyone but himself and has literally no sense of compassion or love for anyone, worse, not even a sense of family. He is gladly willing to kill anyone he sees as a weakness, and is just as happy to kill, torture, maim, or mutilate for his own twisted sadism. Worse, he is also willing to kill women, children, animals, and even infants, all without mercy or remorse. He also treats anyone he sees as weaknesses like absolute trash, giving them nothing but disrespect and contempt and spitefully insulting them at every opportunity.
The once innocent Steven who treated his family, which were mostly women, with the most sincere form of respect, now treats most of his allies basically like they weren't even people. Steven is without qualms about insulting, abusing, and otherwise pushing around everyone around him, and is quick to maim, torture, and kill anyone who so much as slightly provokes him. Though Steven is very outspoken about his hatred of others, he can give at least some respect for other people, even if it is weak. As such, there are extremely few (besides the Maestro) people that he actually is willing to fight alongside, and even fewer that he actually genuinely respects and considers fighting alongside with.
Not only is he homicidal, but he is particularly brutal, brash, and almost animalistic in battle, mercilessly fighting and brutally beating his enemies and often using plenty of dishonorable and exploitative tactics in his fights. Even if his enemies were underage, Steven still shows no mercy, and will regardlessly beat them to near death as if they were a regular enemy. What makes him even more horrid is the pleasure he actually takes while fighting and brutally beating his enemies to near death. Not only is he sadistic through and through, he is also a sadomasochist, and takes just as much pleasure in feeling pain himself as he does causing pain unto others. This is further exemplified by his hobby of frequently mutilating himself when not on a mission.
Befitting his animalistic nature, Steven also has a dangerously violent temper, and will violently lash out and attack and abuse anyone who so much as slightly angers or provokes him. Befitting his violent temper and attitude, Steven is particularly profane, much unlike when he was was younger. He arguably swears more than any other villain in the entire series. Because of his savagery and violent temper, he is both feared and hated by almost all of the villains, perhaps more so than they are afraid of the Maestro. Steven is aware of this and takes every opportunity to use his temper as an intimidation tactic, and Maestro is aware of this and allows Steven to basically do whatever he wants because of it.
His relationship with the Maestro is by far the most twisted of them all, and exemplifies both Maestro's and his own level of depravity, as Maestro is the only person who Steven actually fears and desperately tries to get on his good side, and refusing to leave his side whatsoever. Though that might come off as a brainwashed result, Steven actually willingly works for the Maestro because he feels that Maestro has given him "meaning", and that he helped him realize his "destiny". Maestro, in turn, doesn't seem to see him as completely disposable, despite not really caring about him, and keeps him around, because Steven's desire for power allows him to become more and more monstrous and powerful. Even when called out on his blind dedication to the treacherous tyrant, Steven would adamantly refuse to betray him and will especially kill anyone who so much as threatens him, regardless off whether they are friend or foe. As such, Steven, though too prideful to admit this, will immediately cower and beg for mercy at Maestro's feet if he notices that Maestro is mad at him. Conversely, he will also shamelessly boast that he will always be loyal to him no matter what, and is always willing to cow to Maestro's whims, regardless of how humiliating doing so may be.
Steven, common traits of a megalomaniac, is also highly egotistical and narcissistic, as he wants to make himself powerful in order to fend off his fear of becoming just like an ordinary Gem, and always does everything he does for both himself and Maestro, nothing more or less. This obsession evidently soon changes into outright megalomania, as Steven becomes so obsessed with power that he is gladly willing to steal and obtain all sorts of powers for himself and kill anyone who tries to stop him. As well as that, he is willing to violently kill anyone who tries to steal his powers or compete with him in order to gain said power, regardless if they are friend or foe. Ultimately, he cares about three things and three things only: power, the mission at hand, and Maestro, and always prioritized those three above all else.
In spite of his violent attitude and brutal fighting skills, Steven is actually very intelligent and deceptive, and is a master manipulator and tactician by his own right. He is an expert on leadership, combat skills, martial arts, and is even able to train young fighters in fighting skills and tactics. Though his intelligence is high enough, it is reasonably inferior to the likes of more smarter people like Willy, Dark Kat, and of course, Maestro.
Steven is always pragmatic above all else, and is always focused on his given mission, the third thing he cares about other than himself and Maestro. In fact, if he ever loses his temper, Steven actually calms down when reminded of his mission, as Steven wants ultimately nothing more than his designated mission to be successful. Despite his pragmatism, often his arrogance and recklessness can sometimes be detrimental to his assignments, as Steven can be either overconfident or too obsessed with revenge or his own sadism that he often loses sight of what's really important or of the consequences of his wild actions. His masochism and his hatred also makes him outright fearless in the face of danger and even death.
He has a very violent hatred of the Gem species as a whole, viewing them as insecure or pathetic. He also shows his lack of feeling familial relationships by despising his own family the Crystal Gems, mainly because he viewed them as traitors who lied to him and destroyed his life. This hatred was the main reason why he killed them in the first place. While he completely hates all Gems with a passion, the two people he absolutely hates the most are his mother Pink Diamond and Pearl, who he initially viewed as a surrogate mother. Steven hates his mother because he views her a childish, irresponsible princess who has no respect for others, much less her job, and uses him as a scapegoat for her irresponsibility, even though the opposite is true and she loves him no matter what. Ditto with Pearl's case, but Steven hates her because she kept secrets from him about his mother to protect him, but Steven viewed this as a betrayal and a lie. He particularly viewed them both and the Gems as traitors and liars who betrayed him just because they were keeping secrets from him and then altering the truth so he can stay trustful to them no matter what. He hates them so much that he remorselessly tortured and killed multiple versions of the Gems just to satiate his own sadism and petty hatred. However, as much as he hates Pearl and Pink, he also becomes so hateful that he ends up hating himself to the point where he often mutilates and hurts himself as his way of stress, and is even willing to kill himself if he feels like it, openly goading his enemies to kill him to show if they are just as violent and heartless as he is. Ultimately, Steven became so utterly consumed with hatred that it only pushes him further and further into darkness whenever he is reminded of his happiness and past life. His hatred is so great that he lost any sign of compassion over time, as when he particularly attacks Connie, his girlfriend, and even his own father, who he callously considered stupid and worthless. Sadly, Steven's absolute ruthlessness and callous sadism, as well as his own inability and unwillingness to show any sign of remorse, ultimately classify him as a sociopath.
However, despite his hatred, Steven is not without a sense of humor, but unlike Maestro, Steven rarely uses it, only if he is feeling happy. When he is in a good mood, Steven has an equally sadistic sense of humor, joking about the torture and death he causes or that he plans to cause. His fusion with Brajira of the Messiah and Octomus only accentuates his warped sense of humor.
Though Steven was once tragic because he was essentially broken by the Maestro, Steven ultimately shows that everything that he has done and ever will do is out of his own free will, and the choices he makes governs his personality and actions. He is unable and unwilling to feel remorse or regret for his horrific actions, and is always willing to stoop to any low to feed his sadistic appetite for death and destruction. Over time, Steven is so consumed with hatred that he is absolutely willing to kill anyone for even the pettiest of reasons, and evidently becomes the symbol of hatred and how it can consume one's self until there is nothing more. He also became so sadistic that he almost obsessively seeks to carve his name throughout the Multiverse in blood and tears, and slowly becomes more and more psychotic that he becomes just as dangerous as Dark Kat, Willy, and Maestro. To further prove the fact that he is completely irredeemable, Steven was given multiple redeeming moments where he could realized the horrors he made and show that he is fully capable of redeeming himself whenever he could, but he promptly refuses it at every turn, and shows that he entirely enjoys his new monstrous nature by committing an even worse act on top of it. This shows that Steven is fully aware of the difference between good and evil, yet gladly embraces evil so much that he refuses to redeem himself, showcasing just how utterly repulsive he is.
Quotes[]
“ | I have been known for many forms, many names, but the sacrifices we all made and the desires we collectively possess the entire time ultimately made me a force to be reckoned with. The powers I have taken, the bodies I have piled up, the blood that I have shed, and most importantly, the sacrifices that I have made all for the greater good all amount to anything and everything that I have done up until now. I have made me. I have made my purpose. And I have decided my destiny. No one is gonna stop me from fulfilling my destiny. I've done a lot of things, all of them horrible, but I will never feel remorseful about it, for I have bigger things to consider than huddling up in a corner and crying like a little whelp. I was a stupid kid, now I have grown. I killed those who wronged me, and I am forever proud. I fused with Brajira of the Messiah, a being more powerful than me, and Octomus, the being who shared half my bloodlust. And now I have become hate. This is who I am. This is my name. My legacy. My destiny. My belief. My purpose. And I shall never stray from it. You think you can stop me? Go ahead. I'll put you in the ground before you even touch me. I am more than a God now. I'm a dangerous weapon. I'm the sharpest of blades, and I'll cut you down in a second. I'm the animal who will jump onto your neck and rip it open with my teeth. I'm the guy who is gonna carve my name through this goddamn world, and all worlds. I'm the guy who's gonna drench this miserable world, and all worlds, in blood, guts, and tears. And I'm the guy who is gonna kill each and every single one of you while I'm laughing, because let me tell you something, I will be laughing the entire time. Do you know who I am? I am Brajira of the Messiah, the Black Doom, Zalgo, Dormammu, and the Terror through the Universe. I am Octomus the Master of Pure Agony, also known as True Mickey and Zadkiel, feeder of screams. And I am Steven Quartz Universe, half-Gem, half-human, all god. I am Steven Universe. Yeah. I AM STEVEN UNIVERSE!!! | „ |
~ Steven, Brajira, and Octomus making their ultimate speeches about who they are in the She-Ra crossover. |
“ | You know what it's like to get tortured almost to death? Peaceful. It feels peaceful. It hurts, but you don't care if it hurts. The pain just doesn't matter to you anymore. It feels like the pain is always there to hurt you more, to remind you of why it's there, why it will always be there. At the end, it just feels like you're floating away, watching the whole thing happen to you. You say you feel the pain, that you understand me. But you'll never understand me. You wouldn't understand, because the truth is you couldn't. But I know way too much about pain, about sacrifice. About the agony of knowing that you will always keep suffering no matter how hard you try to dull it, to make it stop. The worst thing that's happened to you two is that you two were separated, that you chose opposing sides. That's nothing. Me, I had every horrible thing happen to me, and I was made certain that I wouldn't forget it. I never could. This arm? Torn off. This stomach. Punched repeatedly, again and again and again until I was spitting blood. These eyes? Carved out like a fucking pumpkin. And this face? Fucking torn off like a plastic bag! I'm not joking. A madman grabbed me in the face and tore it wide open like it was a mask. And the truth is, it was. It was a mask that my weakness, my flaws as a human and Gem hybrid were torn away from me, and my true self, my destined self was to be born. Yet even after this, I still wake up, watching the whole damn thing happen to me again and again. Everything and everyone I know is against me, has betrayed me. So I killed them. And I'd certainly do it all over again. Connie, Lars, Peridot, Lapis, and now my family. Everyone, the arrows pointed at me. It just doesn't stop, whether you beg it to or not. No peace, no rest, no respite, no sympathy. The punches just keep on fucking coming. Every day since then, I ask myself honestly, do I deserve to die? Should I have died? Is it all not worth it in the end? Should I stop caring about everything anymore? Am I not worth the time or trouble? Is this worth the effort anymore? Is this my life? I didn't understand it, I couldn't understand it, but now I do. I was destined to be superior, superior to the likes of gods themselves! That's why I shot up with this HATE crap. That's why I fight. That's why I train. That's why I kill. I kill because I fucking despise weakness. And I've hated the fact that I ever was weak. I can't stand weakness. I can't stand being weak. I won't be weak. I am not weak. I'm not like you. Because I'm not meant to be like you. I'm a killer. A monster, and you know what? I'm fucking proud of it. But the bigger monsters, oh, the bigger monsters are always, always, always the ones above you, towering above you, over all else, laughing, laughing at your sorrows, your misery, laughing until you are pushed to the brink of insanity and then brought to the point of no return. And then everything just goes away. Everything you believe in goes the fuck away. Goes away until you could never reach it, no matter how hard you try. There are always monsters hiding inside you, outside you, even near you. You just got to learn how to either ignore it, face it, or embrace it. Try as you might, you can never escape the darkness nor lock them up, because there will always be a chance where you get to define yourself and decide who you are meant to be. But destiny and fate never changes. The monsters are still here, even after I killed them. I cannot stop dealing with those monsters. The monsters are always here. The monsters are always lurking, waiting, ready to lunge, lunge for the kill. It just goes to show, the monsters just always keep on coming. The monsters will always be waiting. There's always a monster in all of us. The question is if you are willing to listen to it or not. But no matter what, the monsters will always keep on coming. The monsters will always try to change you, and when they do, you can never look at yourself in the mirror again. The monsters will always be there. The monsters keep coming. The only solution? A monster for a monster. I've learned that for a long time, you know. I didn't believe it when I was younger, maybe I was stupid, maybe because I was weak, maybe I was innocent. But I learned that fact the hard way. It wasn't great. My life in tatters. Who the fuck woulda thought, huh? I guess, that's why I became like I am today, you know? I guess in order to become superior, in order to become a god, in order to ignore the unbearable, agonizing pain that strikes into your fucking heart every day, every single day, you just have to lose yourself. A monster for a monster. Go figure. | „ |

Trivia[]
- Steven was 12 years old when he first appeared, was imprisoned by Homeworld at age 14 and again at age 16, and finally turned evil at the age of 17. When he first appeared in the main story as an adult, he was 27 years old and is currently 29 years old, according to Maestro.
- Steven has many qualities similar to Superboy-Prime:
- Both are homicidal, remorseless sociopaths.
- Both prove themselves to be Pure Evil, with any chances of redemption promptly rejected by them.
- Both have tragic backstories, yet have proven to be wholly irredeemable in the present.
- Both are unstoppable, supremely powerful juggernauts who fight brutally and dishonorably.
- Both have an unhealthy obsession with their pasts and their families, though with Steven's case, he ultimately proved he has no love for his family and friends, and is willing to kill them without a shred of guilt.
- Both are feared for their abusive, brash, and heartless personalities, but Superboy was just unpleasant, whilst Steven is particularly abusive and horrible to everyone around him.
- Both have complete loyalties to a higher, more sinister power (Steven to Maestro, Superboy to Lex Luthor), all for a purely pragmatic, power-hungry purpose.
- Both destroy worlds and slaughter millions.
- Both are arrogant and reckless when in battle, but Steven can be tamed down when reminded of his mission.
- Both are narcissistic megalomaniacs outright obsessed with power and domination.
- Both can be murderously childish and petty, and has killed people for seemingly nonexistent or petty reasons.
- Both are absolute sadists who throughly enjoy the pain and suffering of others.
- Both are perfectionistic sadomasochists who regularly harm themselves so that they couldn't be "weak".
- Both have survived hellish, and often unsurvivable events with even more power and strength.
- Both have killed multiple versions of themselves, all of them good, and their families and friends.
- Both are plenty misogynistic.
- Both are savage barbarians who take great pleasure in beating down their foes.
- Both are without qualms on using dishonorable tactics in battle.
- This version of Steven is a grotesque opposite of his normally gentle and innocent canon incarnation, and is by far, the most shockingly dark and monstrous Steven Universe villain, even if he is technically a fan villain. A certifiable sociopath, he is solely to blame for countless atrocities committed by him in the name of the Maestro, and his past, while sympathetic, does not nearly justify his horrendously warped nature and actions.
- He and Maestro are widely considered to be the most evil villains to appear in the Maestro series, especially in a sea of especially irredeemable villains like them.
- He and Maestro also have the highest body counts out of the other villains to appear in the franchise.
