The Strogg are the titular main antagonist faction of the Halo and Quake crossover mod of Quake 4, Fracture: Strogg.
They are a race of mechanically-modified monsters who invaded the galaxy to conquer and survive under the guide of the Nexus and the successor of the Makron and their leader, Makron Alpha.
Biography[]
Past[]
As the origins of the Strogg are yet to be known, they are a known race of aliens who originated from their homeworld, Stroggos, and formed into a powerful empire under the guide of the Nexus and leadership to powerful leaders. Under both leadership of dictators and will of the Nexus, their ideals for conquest, war and destruction would dominate their idoleogy as they travel through the galaxy to conquer the stars by invading and conquering each planet and assimilate the inhabitants by stroggifying them dead or alive while using materials to collect and harvest for Stroyent to survive for centuries. Their war power eventually led to Stroggos becoming a wasteland but the planet and its capital, Cerberon, still persists with the Palace becoming the seat of their leader, the Makron.
In 2525, the Strogg and Covenant would soon met each other when the Strogg managed to invade and conquer some of their outer colonies. This act soon led to a start of the Strogg-Covenant War where the Covenant fought hard in their resistance against the Strogg offensive. Twenty seven years after the war, the Covenant would soon meet their defeat with a majority of each of their species assimilated, inner and outer colonies including High Chairty to become Strogg colonies and their numbers increasing with improvements of their military and their technology. After the war, they made a discovery of a new planet, Earth, and begin invading the planet for their conquest, sparking the War Against the Strogg, a war between the two races. After two years of battling, the UNSC manage to drive the Strogg out of the planet, but Earth was devastated by the invasion and the fact the Strogg may return for the planet's wealth and resources.
In response to the invasion, the UNSC commenced for an invasion on Stroggos after discovering the location of the Stroggs' homeworld and the Nexus they were guided by through its communications array. They send in a fleet of their ships as they approach the planet and engage the Strogg defenss to protect their world from the humans. Keeping the defense fleet distracted, the UNSC send drop pods to the surface of Stroggos but the Strogg E.M.P defenses detected and shoot at the pods and a majority of the survivors were taken to be assimilated or be processed for Stroyent, leaving only a remaining handful of survivors left. The Spartan 117, Master Chief, is one of the survivors as he goes in his mission to find and kill the Makron and succeeds before eventually returning to the fleet only to get killed from the Strogg counter-fleet's firepower while the other two survivors, Joker and Stepchild, manage to destroy the Moon Base and the Gravity Well, obliterating the Strogg fleet and saving both the UNSC ships Phobos and Deimos from their collision course.
Fracture: Strogg[]
Following the death of the Makron, the UNSC fleet regrouped for a second invasion to commence a new mission to defeat the Strogg and use an E.M.P bomb to disrupt the Nexus's communications by destroying the Tetranode to turn the tide in favor for humanity with Rhino Squad taking the lead under the command of Voss and Kane participating in the invasion. This offensive would not go as it seems as despite their losses, the Strogg proved to be still a powerful theat and a lot stronger in strategies and tactics than the last time due to the new leadership of Makron Alpha whom was elected to lead them. Thanks to Makron Alpha's leadership, they manage to destroy the E.M.P bomb (though it would be revealed that it was not strong enough) and captured Kane to assimilated through Stroggification due to his combat skills and potential.
Kane became a Tactical Strogg but was rescued from being put under the Nexus's influence in time by Rhino Squad. Aware that Kane is coming to the Nexus Core to destroy the Nexus, the Strogg organized a defense strategy to attempt to prevent Kane from succeeding on his infiltration, but Kane manages to get through their forces and made his arrival where he fought against Makron Alpha and succeeds in defeating him two times, killing him. In desperation, the Strogg aided the Nexus to protect it only for Kane to defeat the hivemind AI, killing the creature and disrupting the communications array as a result.
In the final days of the war and now at a disadvantage for their tactical strategy, the Strogg presumably met their end by the hands of the UNSC due to their upper hand for the success of the invasion.
