The Sunflowers are the secondary antagonists of the short silent 3D Chinese fan animation Zombies Vs. Plants.
History[]
The animation begins with a skinny Digger Zombie captured by the evil flowers who take him to their base to be used in their machine, along the way, the miner zombie notices several other zombies kept captive and miserable, likely being saved for later.
They then arrive to the machine, where the Unnamed Plant is introduced activating it with 4 zombies inside, causing it to suck out their life force to power the sun and is heavily implied to kill them as the 4 zombies are never seen again.
Then a Squash piloting the Zombot comes in, the Sunflowers then attempt to make the Digger go in the machine, but it malfunctions, causing it to zap the Digger and give him super strength and defeat the plants, pilot the Zombot, free the zombies and kill Peashooters and a giant Chomper trying to stop them.
It is then revealed that was really just what he imagined he will do, when gets zapped like how he thought and tries to attack the Sunflowers, he and gets crushed by the Zombot.
The animation ends with the downbeat miner zombie getting his life force sucked out as he screams in agony and as the Sunflowers relish in the sunlight, while the Unnamed Plant is left alive to presumably kill more zombies to suck the life from.
