Takeda Kanryu is a minor antagonist in the New Norm. He is a opium dealer and a Industrialist who wants to spread opium throughout Normtown, He is also a licensed Machine gun fucker he got married to a Gatling gun in the lore. Kanryu appears in the episode Norm and the opium war where he is seen giving opium to Chloe for free in order to get her addicted which later leads to him fighting against norm during the second half of the episode. Kanryu appears as an optional boss in The New Norm: Wokepocalypse and a playable fighter in The New Norm: Rebirth of Woke

He is an asshole, don't let that façade of niceness persuade you that he's not Kanryu tries to address others with a smile and composed, peaceful look, when in reality he looks down on everyone and has a quick temper that becomes apparent easily whenever he is insulted. He throws tantrums like a manchild named Donal Tump when he doesn't get his way and is a frequent beater of his workers and women. he is an extremely unlikable character which is why he is loved by many.

During the events of Crimecity his name is mentioned due to his opium known as spiders web and that's basically it he smuggles his opium in crimecity and that's the mentions he gets

New Norm[]

Takeda actually appears in the series physically during his first appearance in Norm and the opium war where Kanryu is stated to have went to America in order to make his opium business stronger due to industrialzation and shit like that however due to his previous Drug makers refusal to make Spiders Web he straight up fucking domes him with a revolver in a flashback sequence, Now why did he show up here simple because he wants to generate enough profits to bring in modern Westernized weapons such as the Gatling gun and become an arms dealer speaking of which later in the episode in his mansion he reveals he Is a gun sexual before ordering his gooners I uh mean goons to kidnap Nurse Nancy (Yeah he fucking kidnapped a dead ahead zombie warfare character instead of kidnapping someone normal) so he can force her to make opium or her trailer park and all her redneck friends would be diddled by fire. So anyways after doing that Kanryu is later seen poisoning the towns water supply for no fucking reason and later seen giving Chloe opium which would piss norm off.

After this Kanryu beats up Nancy because she attempted to stab him in his super sigma room before locking her inside the drug lab before having sex with his brand new Gatling gun lmao. Later when Norm, Chaz and Charlie break into his fucking mansion Kanryu is seen throwing a tempertantrum over the opium because Kanryu is a fucking manchild

KanryusOpiumTantrum — YOU DUMB BITCH WORK ON THE OPIUM

After finding out that norm and co. fucking took out his elite gooners they got fucking treated like jobbers by them and it genuinely pissed him off so he was desperate for a way to stop norms bitch ass but then something struck. FUCK IT BRING OUT MY NEW GATLING GUN Kanryu then resorts to using his Gatling gun to kill all his enemies in the mansion. He manages to kill the four jobbers of his for fucking up and disobeyiing his orders to kill norm and Charlie. Before Kanryu goes on a tirade about how this thing is his wife and how he is more cooler than any of them due to how rich he is However whilst trying to fire at Chaz his gun is jammed halfway and whilst in the process of unjamming it a woke beer is thrown at his head giving him head damage before getting knocked out by Charlie

At the end of the episode As Kanryū is arrested by Goofarious Von Doom , he tries to get the police to arrest Nancy however norm fucking lies to the police about her involvement which later causes only Kanryu to be sentenced to TEN YEARS IN THE JOINT he's seen laughing while being taken to prison, trying in vain, to tell the escorting police officers to join him in the opium business

Takeda Somehow escapes prison during the Events of either the woke war arc or one of the seasons after his arrest and the moment he leaves the prison via a explosion through the wall he runs back to his Mansion in order to get what belonged to him oh and also because he wants to see his wife the Gatling Gun again. After making it back home Kanryu doesn't appear in the series for a while

Finale[]

In the Finale Kanryu is seen shooting Elon's many robots on his Gatling gun before later running the fuck away

Personality[]

Kanryu in the norm lore is essentially in it for the money. As we see when he forces nurse Nancy to work on the opium and later killing his hired goons. As once said Kanryu Tries to address people with a false smile and positivity when in reality Kanryu despises people and looks down upon them.

Kanryu is a egotistical narcissist but he also a massive coward as seen when he realizes that someone is stronger than him he will try to bribe them with his hundreds of dollars or simply run from his problems. Kanryu doesn't care about human life as he poisoned the water supply several times without a care in the world along with the fact that he gunned down his goons and immobilizing Rhaz by shooting him in the legs with the Gatling gun. Kanryu does not understand any concept of honor, as he couldn't grasp why Norm went to great lengths to beat his ass due to him giving Chloe a free sample of opium stating that beating him up would not give him any monetary gain. He has enough intelligence and cunning to run a successful opium business and nearly brought down Norm and Rhaz but failed in the end due to him not noticing Charlie sneaking behind him when he killed his 4 goons

Kanryu is extremely fucking arrogant as hell as he believes money makes the world go round and therefore it can solve all of his problems in life and as such why he hated Rhaz for talking back to him and calling him a penny pincher and a coward. He truly is a spiteful disgusting creature who holds grudges against those he feels has wronged him, which is why he killed Rhaz's allies aka the goons that Kanryu Hired in order to spite and traumatize Rhaz as a fuck you to him. And in the end he even tried to bring Nurse Nancy down with him but he was stopped when Goofarious von doom tazed him

One of the most known things about Kanryu is about his love and relationship with an actual Gatling gun with it being canonically known as his wife in the norm lore. Kanryu has stated that he loves this machine of death and often goes on tangents explaining how good the Gatling gun was for the industrialization of society. This is the main reason why Kanryu went back to his mansion when he escaped prison to go see his wife again.

Appearance[]

In the new norm Kanryu has brown center-parted hair and light brown eyes. He wears glasses and is often seen wearing a suit now these suits he wears are usually tan/Sand/Beige colored with a yellow tie with black gloves however sometimes he is seen wearing a red tie he also wears fancy ass beige pants and black dress shoes he has a compartment in his pockets for cigars and a revolver (that he only uses in rebirth of woke). The other suit he is seen wearing in the series which was the OG costume before the Kenshin reboot is a light green suit with white gloves, a white undershirt, and a purple tie.

Sometimes he wears light green Fedora

He keeps his eyes closed with a polite smile while keeping his composure, though when he shows his true personality his eyes open and he develops a wide grin.
