~ The Leader's last words before Meggy beats her.
The Team Killer Ink Leader, also known simply as the Leader, is a supporting antagonist in the 2011-25 Australian adult-animated sitcom web series SMG4, serving as the secondary antagonist of Season 10 as the main antagonist of the film Meggy's Destiny: An SMG4 Movie, and a cameo character in Season 15's "Mario Gambles His Life" episode.
She is the leader of Team Killer Ink and the rival of Meggy Spletzer in the final splatfest. She and her team are very prejudiced against humans and mock Meggy and her team because of this.
The Leader is a light-skinned female inkling with blue tentacle hair and yellow eyes. She wears a white leather jacket, black pants and red boots with dark-brown soles. She mainly uses a .52 Gal as her weapon.
History[]
The Leader and the rest of Team Killer Ink are first seen at the start of the Splatstacle course where she mocks Meggy and Team Splatsquad for being humans. Meggy just ignores her and proceeds with the course. At the end of the course, where the competitors must jump over a chasm to make it to the goal, the rest of the Splatsquad make it over with ease thanks to their Ink Bois. However, as Meggy prepares to jump over, the Leader charges towards her and pushes her in while she and her team jumps over. Meggy managed to get over to the goal, where she and Mario attack the Leader and one of her teammates, but they are stopped by the Squid Sisters, warning them that'll they be disqualified if they do it again.
She and her team later appear during Round 2, where it is revealed that they have already won the previous round and will proceed to the final round.
The Leader returns for the final round where she and her team take on the Splatsquad. Though the Splatsquad get the upper hand at first, the team members are subdued, leaving only Meggy to face her enemies. After Meggy defeats most of its members, the Leader hides behind a wall while Meggy looks for her. The Leader ambushes and subdues her, mocking her afterwards. However, Meggy uses her own Ink Boi to disarm the Leader and splat her, allowing the Splatsquad to win the splatfest. The Leader angrily kicks one of her teammates in the ribs after she and her team loses.
Trivia[]
Since Meggy's Destiny: An SMG4 Movie serves as the finale to the Anime Arc's post-arc storyline, the Leader could be seen as the final antagonist of the Anime Arc.
Both of them are cephalopods (the Leader is an inkling while Desti is an octoling).
Both of them are Meggy Spletzer's rivals.
Both of them are bullies to Meggy and her allies.
Both of them are the leaders of their respective teams (the Leader has Team Killer Ink while Desti has the Octoposse).
However, unlike the Leader, Desti redeems herself and helps SMG4's Gang fight Francis, while the Leader does not and is defeated by Meggy.
Also, unlike the Leader, Desti cares for her teammates, while the Leader does not. This is evident by the Leader kicking Thug, while Desti never hurts her teammates, outright stating she cares for them.
You can also see the difference in their behavior. Desti is more playful with her teasing of Meggy, with no racism involved. However, the Leader is outright cold hearted and racist, with no redeeming qualities. What’s worse is that she knows Meggy was once an inkling, but just doesn’t care.
The Leader's real name is never revealed, with the subtitles simply referring to her as the 'Leader'.
A common name that fans give the Leader is “Waggy”, a play on Wario/Waluigi and Meggy.
In a fanmade video with the three members Thug and Sniper and Commando but with changed name as voice acting actors for their voice in the video of SuperSquidLoudBlox’sHouseAtFriends2020, they call her Vin Valentine and make reference at their first defeat against Splatsquad in Splatoon GMOD: Split Up To Hangout With. Part 1 meaning she might still be upset about their first lost.
In an another fanmade video, Russniper_45 also gave her the name of Vin Valentine, but did gave her a chance of redemption and repentance as in his alternated au, he did make her become friends with Meggy in Meggy's Bizarre Adventures: From Rivals to Allies.
