The Dreaded Doctor is one of the Major Antagonists in The Legends of Van Helsing webtoon he has yet to appear in person to helsing but has made a terrible presence already making him feel like the big bad of this world.
Description[]
He looks like a general wearing a gas mask with a air hose that splits into two. His left shoulder sports a Nazi Symbol or also known as Swastika but in the published colored art he is without it. He seems to sport a dark grey or black suit with a white dress shirt and his eyes glow green as does his air hose.
Biography[]
Before Webtoon[]
he was once a member of the knights of the holy order but in a monster attack his assistant and wife were injured by a werewolf they were experimenting on his wife was killed by himself after learning that she was turned by the werewolf but on a latter date he learned that his wife could have been turned back this broke his mind driving him insane causing him to blame the knights for his killing of his wife for if he knew he could have saved her he never would have killed her
at some point he joined the nazi party where he started recruiting them to the watchers
he also at a more recent date made many monsters to fill his ranks as his own assassins and soldiers
During Webtoon[]
in 1963 Dr Karlin sent his assassin Askr to Geneva Switzerland, for unspecified reasons to kill Dr. Frankenstein and everyone he worked with this assassin almost completely succeeded but failed to kill Adam (Frankenstein's Monster) as he was stopped by Adam and Helsing
and then again in 1964 he had another agent (unknown if he was sent by him or of his own accord) that went to Palais Garnier who went on a mass murder killing everyone in the opera house (which can seat 1,979 people) but like Askr, Erick was also defeated by Helsing
then in 1966 Helsing stumbles on a Watcher base in Toronto, Canada where he and the Doctor spoke for the first time he introduced himself and told Helsing his groups goal and then sent his agent Seth to kill him but Helsing survived and Seth didn't
then in 1968 the doctor made his first in person appearance as he and Dr Moreau forcibly turn a man into a monster known as a Wildman who attacks helsing at some point in the fight helsing tries to attack Moreau but the dreaded doctor shoots a beam of green lighting at them stunning them then he and Moreau take there leave
Appearances[]
He is first seen in the projector as he looks over something presumably some sort of experiment as they are told that the watchers are a machine cult but this is his only apperince besides the creator stating his name to quote "meet Herr Karlin, leader of the watchers" based on his quote we can assume he is german or at least speaks german.
latter designs use the Unicoded Othala in its place he in all designs has a green pipe leaving his mouth and green glowing eyes.
Experiments[]
Unknown if he made them directly or just supervised but here are some monsters/minions or creations of the dreaded doctor.
Adam[]
while he seems to be unknown to him until he was made he was made using the watchers technology adam is the Frankenstein of this world he has bolts and stitches along his face adam unlike askr is kind and skittish upon seeing helsing he just turns around in shock and tells helsing his name and when askr attacks he stated that adam did not try to fight back but when askr is about to kill helsing adam grabs him and throws him into the wall allowing helsing to kill him.
it has not been stated but the watchers and the dreaded doctor might have only wanted to kill adam because he is a pacifist.
Askr[]
it has not been officially stated what Askr is but he sees himself as human and is a mortal creature he has no visible skin and hit legs, arms, and head are all cybernetic his eyes glow green and he wears a red trench coat.
he fights with his razor sharp claws and while he never really used it he has a blade in his arm he was shown to be pretty strong over powering adam but he was proven not to be bullet proof as a single bullet to his head killed him.
Seth[]
a man given wings, a drill for his right hand and a claw for his left a green pipe runs through his mask and to his chest he wears black armor and he was very aggressive to helsing and stated that he was designed for war and was much stronger than any other monster they have ever faced, but that leaves a question what war and with who but based on what he said it might be his war with the monsters.
Dr Griffin[]
another cyborg that is the same type as Askr but he is able to turn transparent but he does cast a shadow and that is how he is seen and when he was hit he turned visible.
it seems to be hinted in the troopers conversation that Griffin might be a deserter so they were sent to catch him which is probably why he killed these two soldiers
The Mech Wolves[]
while not made by him directly they were made using the watchers technology and under the approval of Dr Karlin they seem to be their attempt to make werewolves unlike seth and blake this experement was mass produced (making 7-10) showing that he valued these monsters

Effects on Story[]
thus far this webtoon only has 8 episodes and the first two are a stating the setting and naming the season "Gothic Slayer", but in three of these episodes this villain has sent an assassin to kill Frankenstein and destroy all of his research for some reason, he sends his henchman "Askr" to kill frankenstein, waldman, and adam (frankensteins monster) but helsing gets in his way askr seems to believe that they are the same as at first he doesn't fight and just takes punches saying that their organizations want the same things which shows the control the doctor has on this monster of a man but after a while he then says that it was enough talk and lashes out his claws at helsing. latter erick is seen he speaks more on his woes but he wares the watcher symbol so it can be assumed he is a member then seen again with Seth who was waiting for helsing after helsing killed two soldiers he found a recording by the doctor who told him their goals and then seth attacked and died.
