The First Curse, formerly known as The Unnamed and The First Enemy, is the overarching antagonist of the Steve Cinematic Universe, serving as the overarching antagonist of Rainbow Quest and Steve Legends, and the main antagonist of Twisted Rainbow.
In Rainbow Quest, he serves as the unseen overarching antagonist of Seasons 1-5, the overarching antagonist of Season 6 and the main antagonist of Season 7. In Steve Legends, he serves as the unseen overarching antagonist of Season 1 and the overarching antagonist of Season 2.
He is one of Origin Steve's first creations, while also himself being the creator of Dread Steve, the Obsidian Steves and the Diamond Steves respectively. Despite spending many generations immobile and imprisoned, he has also been pulling strings behind the scenes, even manipulating Void Steve. As the source of all evil in the universe, the First Curse is considered the second strongest being in the universe, only being topped by Origin Steve. Unlike all the other characters, The First Curse technically isn't a living object. He was literally the first curse to ever exist, and created the concept of curses as a result.
He can also be considered the second oldest being in the universe, once again being below Origin Steve. Since Origin's other creations, Genesis, Dream Steve and the Judge were all killed, the First Curse was the last of Origin's descendants left alive until his defeat. This can be attributed to both his resourcefulness and sly manipulation tactics when encountering other Steves, as well as the fact that not even being imprisoned could keep his powers fully contained.
Personality[]
| “ | I may be the curse of power, but that name was given to me. I didn't choose to be referenced to as a curse! I DIDN'T BELIEVE FOR A SECOND IT WAS A CURSE! THE ONLY BEINGS THAT REFERRED TO ME AS SUCH WERE THOSE WHO DIDN'T HAVE IT! They call it a curse because it isn't THEIRS. HAHAHAHA! MORE! HAHAHAHAHAAAAH! | „ |
| ~ The First Curse as he absorbs the Core. |
The First Curse is a very cunning individual, as well as very rebellious and refusing defeat without a fight. He was meant to be a non-existent object; a power source for Origin Steve. But, he had gained sentience and seeked to wreak havoc upon the world and gain power for himself. The First Curse is methodical, willing to bide his time and play his cards right. When he created the Obsidian Steves, he had made them incorruptible. Thus, even he couldn't control them. When that backfired, he learned from the mistake and created beings that were loyal to him and would serve under his authority.
The First Curse also has a great knowledge on the mentality of people, tailoring specific ironic curses onto his victims (the intelligent Professor Red going insane, Galaxy Steve wanting connection being forced to be alone, etc.). He also uses this to manipulate others, bringing good and bad luck to a village of Steves that reside underneath the cavern he's captured in. He believes that his powers are a gift and dislikes how it is considered a curse.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
In the beginning, Origin Steve, in an attempt to gain more power, created the First Curse. The goal was to give himself a "curse" of unlimited power. However, the First Curse was given sentience and free will, going against his creator's wishes. Filled with evil energy within him, he went to war with his creator. At some point in time. Galaxy Steve, who was just a regular Indigo Steve, stood up against the First Curse after hearing about him. The First Curse cursed Galaxy Steve, turning him into the Ruin; an Enderman like creature who could not speak and was bound to a swamp in the middle of nowhere. At another point in time, The First Curse builds a giant castle in the middle of a swamp as his home.
He had created the Obsidian Steves as an army to help in his battle, but they ironically turned their backs on him as well, asserting their free will and incorruptibility. So, he created a race of Steves who were meant to be corrupted; the Diamond Steves. At some point in time, he also created Dread Steve, a singular Steve that had the ability to send people into their own minds to frighten them with their worst fears. Origin created Dream Steve to rival Dread, and Dream Steve created the Winter Steves to help in the battle.
Origin's team, which consisted of himself, Dream Steve and the Winter Steves, faced off against the First Curse, Dread Steve and the Diamond Steves. All of the Diamond Steves were killed off, although their bodies weren't destroyed causing their ghosts to reside in the battlefield underground. Dream Steve was also killed, but his essence; the Heart of Winter, had survived, allowing him to be eventually resurrected in the future. However, it was stolen by one of the Giants during the battle. The biggest loss was Origin Steve himself, who was cursed by the First Curse to be isolated from the rest of the world, to live within the core of all Steves. Dread Steve was contained inside a tomb, being guarded by the Giant who stole the Heart of Winter that he had corrupted with his infection. The First Curse was imprisoned in a supernatural piece of armor he himself had created, chained up and locked away in a cavern for the rest of his days, becoming known mythically as "The First Enemy".
While Dread Steve was eventually released for a period of time, infecting people with his dread in the First Curse's honor, the First Curse himself remained inactive throughout the era of the First and Second Heroes. His prior curse on Galaxy Steve was also fixed by Alex. However, his powers could still work even when he was imprisoned. Professor Red, on an expedition, ran into the First Curse trapped in his armor. Going near him caused Professor Red to be cursed with insanity.
Biding his time[]
As generations passed, a village of Steves happened to start living above the cavern he was trapped in. When the Village Leaders found him, he had become a silent charm of luck for the village, giving them good luck and prosperity. Attempts to free the First Curse end in death. Several Steves tried releasing him from his shackles, only to die. The First Curse remains inactive throughout a majority of the Darkness' Secondcoming with Void Steve absorbing the Rainbow Crystals again and Sabre being corrupted by Darkness at the hands of Shadow Sabre. But, he did get involved when it came to the Darkness' third return.
He had begun manipulating the Demon Steves in the World Below, having them distort reality and erase people's memories. This would cause Sabre to investigate, visit Void in the World Below and discover that the Darkness is the Demon Steve's weakness. Afterwards, he gave Void Steve control of the Demon Steves. This would lead to Sabre, Dark Steve, Time Steve and Shadow Sabre defeating him and locking the Demon Steves out. This was presumably done to get Void Steve killed and the Darkness so he couldn't interfere with the First Curse's plans, as well as weaken the Darkness to the point where it wasn't a threat. This was when the final stage of his escape plan started.
Release[]
In order to be released, The First Curse needed Sabre to be the one to break his chains. When he, Time and Dark moved into the village, he began communicating with Sabre telepathically, offering solutions to his various problems. Sabre wouldn't budge. So, The First Curse orchestrated events to ensure he fell under pressure. He gave one Demon Steve sentience, making it remember its past life. The Demon Steve was sent back to the overworld where it began sucking the life dry of certain Steves, craving their energy. The Demon Steve even held Light Steve hostage. Sabre fell under the pressure and released one of the First Curse's chains, but was stopped by the Indigo Leader. One chain was enough to set him free and enact his plan.
The First Curse, now free from the vacant armor, used his powers to teleport almost every single Steve into his armor, freezing them in time. The only people left were Sabre, Light Steve, Therapist Green Steve, Yellow Steve with a Leather Chestplate, Assistant Steve and Hypno Steve. Time Steve wasn't in the dimension, grieving after the death of Elemental Steve. The First Curse waited patiently as the remaining people left began their search for the remaining Steves. He piloted the armor to absorb Yellow Steve with a Leather Chestplate when the group briefly split up. Once the location of the armor was eventually tracked, the First Curse revealed his true form to the others. He used the armor absorbed Light Steve and Therapist Green Steve, but failed to absorb Sabre as he and Assistant Steve teleported away.
Some time later, Sabre and Assistant Steve returned with the newly acquired Hypno Steve. The First Curse was unprepared as Hypno Steve forced his way into the armor, taking Sabre inside with him. Hypno traded places with his apprentice M. Sabre and M escaped, but this time, the First Curse came with them. They had teleported to the Red Kingdom, and the First Curse began chasing the group until they reached the Core. He damaged the Core, causing the self-destruction sequence linked up in Assistant Steve to activate. He was turned off before the nuclear explosion was initiated. Time Steve showed up and teleported Sabre, M and the deactivated Assistant Steve to the Time Dimension to regroup.
They returned later, with Time Steve now fighting the First Curse while Assistant Steve turned on the Red Kingdom's security technology, teleporting the First Curse out of the kingdom. However, during the battle, he had punched M, transferring a curse to him. M needed to be contained inside a tube unconscious in order to prevent the curse from spreading further. Sabre and the gang realized that redstone could repel the First Curse, so they created redstone armor for Sabre and Time Steve to wear as they fought the First Curse head on. However, as the fight was raging on, Hypno Steve took control of the armor, sending every Steve captured back to where they were as if nothing had happened.
Enraged by his defeat, the First Curse decided to curse everything. The entire universe began being absorbed into an even bigger piece of armor, spelling the end of the entire universe and all life within it.
The End[]
In an effort to stop the end of the world, despite Hypno Steve believing it was an inevitable destiny, Sabre and Time Steve travelled to the various kingdoms to gather up the remains of the Crystals in a last ditch effort to create the Fourth and Final Hero. Light Steve was elected to be the one to face off against the First Curse. It was believed that killing the First Curse would reverse any curse he had placed, and the subsequent damage that it caused. The universal curse he had placed on the world was already causing damage. A tsunami had nearly destroyed the Green Kingdom, the Violet Kingdom was being torn asunder by earthquakes and a meteor had struck the Yellow Kingdom. Yellow Leader, Yellow Steve with a Leather Chestplate and every other Yellow Steve in the kingdom (excluding two survivors) were all killed in the explosion. It had also began to affect the Steve's abilities to teleport.
The trio of Sabre, Light and Time, after a brief interception from a gleeful Hypno, begin rewiring Void Steve's machine he used to kill the third Rainbow Steve to turn Light into the fourth. The First Curse could sense the presence of a new Rainbow Steve and returned to fight him. However, there was a fatal flaw in the battle. The First Curse, while being considered the second strongest being in the universe, was only like that because of his magic. He had relied on his magic so much that he lacked training in basic combat, something that Light Steve in particular was an expert at.
Light Steve, despite being objectively weaker than the First Curse was able to kill him. He eventually reverted back to normal and the Rainbow Crystals were destroyed for good. However, contrary to what they believed, the damage the First Curse had done was still there. The curse was so widespread that it had affected the stability of the universe and the space-time continuum. Hypno Steve, ecstatic to be proven right, welcomes the end of the world with open arms. But, it turned out that killing the First Curse had destroyed one curse; Origin's curse.
Origin Steve had been freed and could enter the physical world again. He arrived, revealing he was the one who created the First Curse. The only way to reverse the damage of the curse was to fulfill a predestined time loop. Sabre had been immune to being cursed by the First Curse, was considered the only one who could release the First Curse from his chains, and the only reason Hypno could take control of the armor was because he had a sample of Sabre's DNA inside of him. It's because Sabre was meant to go back in time to the beginning of the universe and create Origin Steve, bringing every subsequent event into motion. Sabre was technically above the First Curse in the creation hierarchy. Once the loop is restarted, the curse will be destroyed and all the damage it caused will be reverted. Sabre is willing to banish himself to the beginning of everything to save everyone else. Sabre, with Time Steve's help, goes back in time and restarts the loop. This, in turn, fixes the world and brings back everyone who died as a result. The last bit of the First Curse's influence is gone, and an era of peace finally begins.
Twisted Rainbow[]
Sabre's time travelling caused reality to expand and create the multiverse. Infinite Sabre's exist with many of them being cursed to suffer. The First Curse was destroyed in the original universe, becoming shattered and wanting to be whole again. He discovers that Time Steve had also lost himself when repairing the damage he caused. The First Curse used his powers to curse the fragment of Time, merging with it. He also set up shop in a fake Time Dimension. Eventually, he discovered an alternate version of Sabre which was an anomaly among the rest, as he had full control over the universe he was meant to inhabit. In the shadows, The First Curse helped the new Sabre, giving him a clock-themed sword as a weapon. The First Curse began to wonder if the alternate Sabre was connected to the original, testing him. He contacted Sabre in his dreams, encouraging him to find his memories. Being preoccupied with the conflict between The Twisted and The Darkness, Sabre didn't focus on finding answers. The First Curse interfered and showed Sabre the past of his other self.
This, combined with Sabre being terrified of the war going on around him, caused him to break and accept The First Curse's assistance. He unlocks Sabre's powers and gives Sabre instructions on how to leave the universe as he exacts revenge on both sides of the war. The First Curse takes on the form of Time Steve to see if Sabre remembers his best friend, but he doesn't. He then tasks Sabre with retrieving his world's version of the Core, having taken interest in the Core back in the original universe. The First Curse watches from afar as Sabre battles an Elite Guard of the Darkness, as well as discovering that his true identity was the new universe's version of Shadow Sabre.
When Sabre returns, terrified of his shadow double, The First Curse asks for the Core. Sabre hesitates, asking on what he wants to do with the Core to keep their mutual trust. The First Curse agrees, taking off his disguise and revealing himself. He explains his defeat in the original universe and his merging with Time, proclaiming that he was everywhere, and could never be defeated. Sabre is undeterred, revealing that he actually knew that The First Curse was lying to him ever since he showed him the memories of the original Sabre. The First Curse, believing that Sabre was against him, changed the Time Dimension to his aesthetic and prepared for battle.
Sabre, however, was on his side. Unlike Twisted Rainbow or the Dark Guard, he was honest with him when he wanted to see trust. Sabre states that he wants not only to make the people who hurt him pay, but to make the other universes where Sabre's had good lives to suffer. The First Curse is excited to have Sabre by his side, wanting to existence to suffer, rather than destroy it. Sabre gives The First Curse the Core, having earned his trust and asks where they can start.
The Crossroads[]
The First Curse absorbs the power of The Core to stabilize his limitless power, proclaiming that he never considered himself nor his powers a curse. He sends himself and Sabre to the multiverse, which he titles the Crossroads. He offers Sabre a place at his side during his conquest, but Sabre declines, wanting to settle scores back at his universe. The First Curse taking a liking to this version of Sabre gives him an extra power boost to aid him in his vengeance. The two part ways, The First Curse delightfully beginning his purge on the multiverse.
Powers and Abilities[]
Default Powers[]
- Curse embodiment: The First Curse was created by Origin Steve to act as a power source, but also functioned as a sentient, living curse. Because of this, the First Curse possesses a vast array of supernatural and otherworldly abilities that easily elevate him to being the most powerful being Sabre has ever faced.
- Alysídakinesis: Likely taking after the fact he was imprisoned and held down by chains, the First Curse can summon giant chains that drill into the earth. It's implied that these giant chains can tear the world apart and help the First Curse in reverting the universe to nothing.
- Cursing: The First Curse's most powerful and infamous ability is his power to place curses on entities throughout the universe, usually granting them great misfortune. The First Curse's curses operate via either being manually placed on people by him, being accessed through books containing the curses or following instructions from books containing curses. Each one of the First Curse's curses contains different powers that are unique to the type of curse accompanying it. For example, the Curse of the Faceless quite literally removes the faces of individuals affected by it and removes their identities entirely, allowing them to shapeshift into other entities to assume new identities. The Curse of the Reverse transforms the user into the complete mental and physical opposite of Rainbow Steve, changing their color scheme, yet still giving them powers of Rainbow Steve, even if their desires are selfish. Most of the curses placed on people has the unfortunate side effect of twisting their morality and turning them into villainous individuals. The Red Leader was cursed with knowledge after a sample of Sabre's blood was used to heal him, but accidentally transformed him into Hypno Steve and drove him mad upon being forced to know how everything came to an end. All of these are prime examples of the First Curse's cursing abilities and the extent of how damaging they can be to the individual affected and those around them.
- Curse/energy empowerment: The First Curse's overarching plan was to become the strongest being in the universe, and to do that, he resorted to placing every Steve in the universe in a timeless stasis so he could feed off their energy to become stronger. Not only could the First Curse absorb energy from the Steves, but he was also able to gain power through Steves that had curses tied to them, which likely provided more power to the First Curse due to all the curses being directly tied to him and his power.
- Power bestowal: With the majority of his curses that directly affect people, the First Curse's power is directly tied to the curses he creates, allowing him to bestow his power upon entities who are unfortunate enough to take his curses, such as Faceless, Hypno and Reverse Steve.
- Corruption inducement: The First Curse can make beings created by him fall under his spell and become his loyal followers by corrupting them. When he created the Diamond Steves, he made them weak enough to be corrupted by him as opposed to his failed attempts with the creation of the Obsidian Steves.
- Death inducement: When the First Curse was imprisoned within the Armor, it was specially designed to hold a being as powerful as him, as such, when mortals touched the First Curse inside his armor, they would instantly die.
- Dimensiokinesis: When the First Curse felt threatened by TR!Sabre, the First Curse instantly transformed his variation of the Time Dimension into appearing more like a battleground, showing that he is in complete control of any realm where he reigns supreme.
- Enhanced senses: The First Curse has near-supernatural senses and is an adapt hunter, being able to easily locate people based on the slightest things such as movements and sounds. He also responds to people yelling his name and will instantly show up upon being called.
- Essokinesis: With the power of his strongest curses, the First Curse can warp the very fabric of reality and bend/distort existence to his will.
- Flight: The First Curse is easily capable of flight and can travel through the air at tremendous speeds, as well as levitate in midair. Even when severely damaged, the First Curse is able to hold his ground and stay off the ground.
- Illusion manipulation: The First Curse was able to cast illusions of people and control them, such as when he created an illusion of Rainbow Steve to manipulate Sabre into following it to his location.
- Immortality: The First Curse is the second oldest being in the universe, having been alive after Origin Steve created the rest of the universe, and thus, is incapable of dying through traditional/natural means such as old age or diseases. As noted by Assistant Steve, the First Curse has existed since the beginning of time and is immune to the regular effects time would have on a normal Steve. The First Curse is also completely unable to be killed through traditional means such as regular swords and other weapons forged by mortal beings. He is immune to practically all forms of damage and can easily brush off the majority of injuries, and even the ones that do hurt him are incapable of doing the amount of damage necessary to kill him, as said strength/damage would only be achievable by beings of higher power or power of a significant amount, such as Origin Steve and Rainbow Light.
- Increased speed: After escaping his prison underneath the Steve Village, the First Curse was spotted several times by Sabre, but was able to run away and easily escape due to his increased speed.
- Insanity inducement: Although it's unclear how exactly he managed to do it, the First Curse was able to drive Professor Red completely insane, turning him into a shell of the brilliant scientist he used to be. It's also shown that through his cursed influence he was able to send Time Steve into a mental spiral after he cursed the universe.
- Item creation: The First Curse was able to create a weapon known as the Time Sword, which he bestowed upon TR!Sabre.
- Life creation: As a lesser creator due to being a physical curse, the First Curse is capable of creating life, although most of his creations are dark, twisted and under his influence. He was responsible for creating Dread Steve, the Obsidian Steves and the Diamond Steves. Most of his creations carry his demonic influence and powers, although some of them aren't bestowed with the same power.
- Lightning: Much like every Steve, the First Curse can summon lightning at his fingertips and use it as an offensive attack against his enemies to injure and/or kill them.
- Luck bestowal: When inside the armor, one of the First Curse's only abilities was that of being able to bring good luck and fortune upon Steves, but only to manipulate them and appear as not a threat.
- Magic expertise: As one of the first and most powerful beings in the universe, the First Curse is adapt at utilizing limitless amounts of magic to achieve incredible feats over his enemies. Throughout the generations, it's said that the First Curse studied and trained to become the most powerful magic user in the universe and utilized said magic to demolish anyone that stood in his way. Despite this, his most powerful magic pales in comparison to the power of creation possessed by Origin Steve, his creator.
- Obsidian manipulation: One of the First Curse's primary abilities is the ability to magically summon obsidian which he can bend into appearing in different shapes and sizes, usually as large balls comprised of normal and crying obsidian. Although metaphorically, it's noted by M that being punched the First Curse's "skin" felt like being punched by obsidian, which only serves as a good explanation as to why he uses it as both an attack and defence mechanism.
- Omnimalevolence: As the embodiment of all curses as well as first being in the universe to be evil and created by Origin Steve, the First Curse is all-evil and the source of all evil in the universe and expanding multiverse, essentially appearing as the embodiment of evil itself, showing zero benevolent traits, although he's perfectly capable of feigning a benevolent facade.
- Sensory scrying: When acting as a disembodied voice speaking in TR!Sabre's head, the First Curse can view through Sabre's senses to view the world around him, allowing him to better guide TR!Sabre on his path of revenge.
- Soul merging: If the First Curse is ever fragmented across time and space, he is able to attach himself to other fragments of other beings to reform his body and merge their souls together, although he effortlessly overrides them.
- Shapeshifting: When merged with the fragments of another user's soul, the First Curse can take on a distorted and corrupted form of said user, as shown when he replicated Time Steve's appearance, although physical hints of his true form were prevalent, such as his purple eyes.
- Superhuman strength: The First Curse is an extraordinarily fierce and powerful entity, and thus, is effortlessly able to hurt and kill people on a whim. Going against normal Steves poses no challenge to the First Curse, as he can easily wipe the floor with them within seconds, and even more powerful entities such as Time Steve are unable to go against the First Curse and come out completely unscathed. As mentioned by M, being punched by the First Curse felt like being punched by solid obsidian, showing the effect his incredible strength he has on mortals.
- Telepathic speaking: For most of his life as the Unnamed, the First Curse communicated telepathically to his victims and used it as leverage over them to coerce them into releasing him from his armor, and attempted to do the same with Sabre by telepathically communicating with him and manipulating him into releasing him. His telepathic speak is endless and can be heard from infinite distances.
- Teleportation: The First Curse can transport himself to any place within an instant and seemingly has no limits as to how far he can teleport.
- Portal creation: As mentioned by the Red Leader, Professor Red lost his mind when he stuck his head through a portal, leading him to the World Below, showing that the First Curse is capable of creating portals.
- Time travel: Although not shown in action, merging with a lost fragment of Time Steve's soul allowed him to travel across space and time until he arrived at TR!Sabre's universe.
- Voice projection: The First Curse's voice is naturally able to cover large distances and even be heard from underground even when he's above. The First Curse's voice is also able to expand across dimensions, as shown when he spoke to Sabre and Hypno Steve while they were inside of the Armor's pocket dimension and the First Curse remained in the Overworld.
At Full Power[]
When the First Curse cursed the entire universe, he became exponentially more powerful than ever before and was capable of achieving incredible feats with his newfound strength due to the universe collapsing.
- Meteor summoning: The First Curse can summon giant destructive meteors that come hurling from the sky and cause massive damage to any piece of land it touches, as shown when a singular meteor instantly destroyed the entirety of the Yellow Kingdom and drilled deep into the earth, leaving several Yellow Steves trapped in the rubble.
- Tidal wave generation: The First Curse can summon giant tidal waves that form from the ocean depths and can cause mass amounts of destruction and wipe out any piece of land or creature that stands in its way, although its power was halted thanks to Time Steve freezing it in time.
- Universe destruction: At his absolute strongest, the First Curse's most powerful curse was capable of nearly causing the complete and utter annihilation of the entire universe, which, if succeeded, would've left all living organisms (excluding him) and everything that ever existed in the universe ceasing to exist and reverting everything to nothing. As shown by the curse on the universe, the curse left physical pieces of the Overworld cracking and exposing giant patches of pure white, which were actually patches of complete nothingness. As mentioned by Time Steve, this is what would've happened had the Darkness won, as everything would've been reverted to the blank void of nothing.
- Time-space destruction: Upon the universe collapsing, with that also brought the destruction of the fabric of all time and space. When Sabre travelled to the Middle World, he was thrust into the cracks of time as places from past experiences and memories appeared, alongside time entities that had spontaneously arrived to try and fix the flow of time and space.
Abilities[]
- Combat mastery: Having engaged in a war with Origin Steve, the First Curse is clearly shown to be an expert fighter and combatant, being able to hold his ground against powerful entities while beating ones with less power than him with ease. Even after generations spent inside a cursed suit of armor, the First Curse can still engage in fights with people and win against them with little challenge. He is shown to be proficient in forms of magical combat as well as using special forms of weaponry such as his cursed staff.
- Genius-level intellect/Master tactician: The First Curse isn't just a deadly opponent with his array of abilities, as he is an extremely talented tactician and manipulator. He set the stage for the events to come by creating Dread Steve, which lead to his eventual manipulation of Seer and his transformation into Void Steve, as well as all the horrible acts he committed and making him an immortal demon. He had also locked Origin Steve out of the physical realm, forcing him to communicate with Sabre through spiritual means.
- Master of manipulation: The First Curse is also talented in the art of manipulation and deception. He manipulated Sabre into releasing him by allowing a rogue Demon Steve to murder people in the Overworld, knowing that Sabre would come to him for advice and release the First Curse in exchange for help. The First Curse is shown to only manipulate people into doing his dirty work and didn't use any manipulation tactics after being released from his prison, preferring to do the work himself at that point.
- Master swordsman: Despite primarily being a user of different types of magic and spells, the First Curse is knowledgeable on how to use weapons and displays clear skill when using his staff.
- Intimidation: The First Curse was feared upon and mostly known to most Steves as "The First Enemy", due to being the first person to go against Origin Steve. His name was engraved in legends and in the minds of everyone affected by either his direct influence or the influence of his subordinates. Even as the Unnamed, the First Curse was feared for his ability to instantly kill people who touched his armor, even though the townsfolk were mostly unfazed by it due to the First Curse bringing good luck.
Equipment[]
- Cursed Staff: The First Curse used a magical staff as a weapon during the final fight against Rainbow Light and also used it to prepare himself for what he thought was a fight between him and TR!Sabre.
Weaknesses[]
- Arrogance: With his power-hungry nature and pathological desire to become the ultimate being in all of existence, the First Curse is incredibly arrogant and egotistical, with this being the biggest cause of his defeats. His overconfidence distracts him from getting the job done and often leads to him gloating over his victims, buying them enough time to try something against him. On top of that, his belief that he can effortlessly defeat anyone leads to him not using his full power all the time and only when he was losing, which is why Rainbow Light was able to defeat him.
- The Armor: The Armor was specially designed by The First Curse, but was eventually used by his enemies to trap and hinder him from moving or using any of his powers. However, the First Curse would eventually modify the Armor into a sentient weapon used to capture souls.
Former Weaknesses[]
- Supercharged redstone equipment: Supercharged redstone is one of the most powerful conductants in the world, amplifying the already highly powerful redstone. However, this weakness seems to only extend to equipment that is specifically engineered with supercharged redstone capabilities, and not something like the Core. The First Curse actually attempted to capture the Core to become more powerful and after absorbing the Core of the Twisted Rainbow universe, it stands to reason that the First Curse is no longer affected by supercharged redstone equipment and is completely invulnerable to it.

Sometimes, good moments are only noticed when reflected on, and during those moments, all you feel is pressure. So... Much... Pressure... But it must happen. All of this had to happen and could not be stopped. You are the anchor. The one thing holding it all together, in every reality, in every timeline, you. You and every version of you must face the test, from the origin to the end of time. Every outcome may be different, you may seem different. But in the grand scheme of it, you are intertwined forever. A thread trapped in a knot. TR!Sabre: And you? Who are you that's speaking in my head? The First Curse: Me? [laughter] I'm just the one trying to pull it all together for my own sanity. I am-- Elite Guard: Sabre! Sabre: Elite? Is that you? The First Curse: No... I am-- Elite Guard: We're running out of time. The First Curse: You know me. Now listen, before I lose my patience! I. AM-- Elite Guard: We're out of time! Now wake up! |

| ~ The First Curse guiding TR!Sabre through the memories of the original Sabre. |
| “ | The First Curse: I can give you a solution. Cut the thread, and give it to me. I will take your burden from you. TR!Sabre: I just wish that he didn't get turned... He trusted me... He wanted me to just talk to him! He was okay with it! I should've just let him run away from me! I let him be turned! The First Curse: I will give you more time... TR!Sabre: QUIET! STOP! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! The First Curse: It seems you can hear me clearly now. Good. Listen closely then. TR!Sabre: Why should I, huh!? The First Curse: Because I am the key, and you are trapped behind the locked door out of here. I will unlock it for you. TR!Sabre: And what's in it for you, huh? What do you have to do with all of this? The First Curse: You may not remember who I am, but that's okay, I just miss you, Sabre. So, what'll it be? I will not offer my help again. TR!Sabre: Fine, what do I do? |

| “ | The First Curse: They are using you, swaying your path, corrupting your vision and from finding your own, telling you to be with them or fall behind. But you can be stronger than that, even go down fighting. No longer shall you be scared. Maybe it should be them who ran out of time. Maybe it should be you who has control. Look at them! See past their lies and do not listen any longer! Reclaim what's yours and unlock the door. Elite Guard: Sabre? What are you doing? [Sabre telekinetically launches the Elite Guard far away] The First Curse: This is twisted, Sabre. A universe created by mistake. Unique to only this one. Unique to only you. Twisted Rainbow: Wow! Looks like you've got a few tricks up your sleeve, Sabre! Haha! Looks like you've cracked! Maybe you-- Y-- [Twisted Rainbow starts unexpectedly coughing] The First Curse: [deranged laughter] Look at them! They think they have something! [laughter] Twisted Rainbow: Sabre... Please... The First Curse: [laughter] Tell them. Tell them how you feel. TR!Sabre: This... Is twisted, Rainbow. Twisted Rainbow: Sabre... I... I still have it! [he pulls out the Time Sword] I still have it!... The First Curse: He taunts you with it, something you value that he took. Take it back. TR!Sabre: The sword, it belongs to me. Twisted Rainbow: It appears not... What do you- gonna do about it? [Twisted Rainbow watches as Sabre teleports the sword away, transferring it to him] Huh? How!? How did you do that? You really HAVE lost it!... Twisted! I COMMAND YOU TO KILL THIS MAN, NOW! [lightning strikes on Sabre, making the Twisted vanish as two giant clocks appear where they and the Dark Guard used to stand] I see... You are far beyond what I ever could've imagined. You haven't lost it at all. You're just a monster. An untameable force that will ravage these lands far more than the Darkness or I could've ever done! Are you even paying attention to me, or is there something in your head? |

Twisted Rainbow: Wha-W-Who are you talking t-- [Twisted Rainbow begins to cough violently] TR!Sabre: Why? The First Curse: The fabric of reality is delicate, and time is funny. Play it safe and then you can finally be free. |

| “ | TR!Sabre: Hello? "Time Steve": Hello, Sabre. I'm happy you're finally here. TR!Sabre: Who are you? "Time Steve": I am known by different names, but my name isn't important. TR!Sabre: Back in that world I had such power, I could feel it. I was able to use such strong abilities, against both the Elite and Twisted! I don't understand! It came out of nowhere! Was it because of you? Did you give them to me? "Time Steve": No. You always had them. The original version of you caused the expansion of the multiverse, creating infinite universes of Sabre's and their experiences, cursed to suffer in every single one. But, this Sabre, you, are the one who refused his place in the universe you were supposed to exist within, and instead, floated in emptiness. But the curse of the multiverse is strong, and this Sabre, you, were forced to experience reality, whether you were willing to or not. Thus, the reality and universe you were experiencing until now was within yourself this entire time. This Sabre is the exception. Where other Sabres must exist within their universe, your universe exists within you. TR!Sabre: Within me? This is crazy! You mean to tell me that what I just experienced was in my own head!? "Time Steve": I found you, between all of the universes that had been created. Unlike the others, you have control over your universe since you are the universe. All I had done was show you the way, and give you the key. TR!Sabre: I don't know what to do with that information, I mean-- I woke up there, I have no memory before it. "Time Steve": That is because you did not exist before it. You were placed in that very moment, as you are. TR!Sabre: So I didn't even exist until then? I just came to be!? "Time Steve": Yes. TR!Sabre: Why did it feel like I had a life before then? I had something before, right!? "Time Steve": You can deny it all you want, but this is the reality. This is your reality. It was so twisted, because you refused the other existence, and so something had to come to be. TR!Sabre: So it's my fault? I don't remember choosing whether I wanted a reality or not! So why did it give me one!? "Time Steve": The curse is strong. It dwells within every Sabre. Your will was stronger than most, and yet, here we are. The curse taking affect, and you, not able to use your will against it. TR!Sabre: But I can use my own will in my own universe? That's how I had those abilities? "Time Steve": Yes. TR!Sabre: So then, what about you? Why are we even talking? "Time Steve": It is like I have been telling you, I found you inbetween all of the universes that had been created. After the creation of the multiverse, I began searching for ways to fix myself from the aftermath and interactions with you. I had barely been able to hold myself together as of now. I am falling apart, but I know you can help. TR!Sabre: You want me to help? Well, you've shown me the truth. You got me out of that... twisted nightmare. I will help you, I owe you that much. What can I do? "Time Steve": It is actually quite convenient that you have your own universe within yourself, as I need something from it. TR!Sabre: Sure. Whatever you need, I can go get it. I mean, I dread going back in, but if it's to help you then, sure. You helped me. "Time Steve": Good. Within your universe is an extremely powerful power source. It can help keep me together, if extracted properly. TR!Sabre: Power source? What do you mean? "Time Steve": It's something the Steves created within your universe. Ironic, isn't it? They created it, that means technically you created it. You must retrieve it for me. It will be large. Search for it. TR!Sabre: How will I know if I found it? "Time Steve": You were able to sense the gateway. You have a connection with your universe. Sense the power source and extract it safely. Bring it to me. TR!Sabre: And once I bring it to you, then what? "Time Steve": Do what you like. You have the power. You want revenge? [chuckles] Take revenge. You want pain? Then it shall be yours. You can do whatever you want, Sabre. It's your universe, after all. So how about it? Retrieve the power source for me, then go wild? TR!Sabre: You got a deal. I'll go back in. |
„ |
| ~ The First Curse (under the guise of Time Steve) finally meets TR!Sabre and tells him everything about his universe, as well as instructing him to go back in and retrieve the Core. |
| “ | "Time Steve": Y'know, Sabre, I must say, I envy your ability to return to your universe. I wish I could return to mine. TR!Sabre: And why couldn't you? You seem to be pretty powerful, even if you are barely holding yourself together. "Time Steve": After the events that created the multiverse, I can't seem to go back. But, it's okay. In a way, I've searched and found that I've... Well, there's no one else like me in the multiverse, that means that I can access any other universe I'd like without finding another me. While you may be infinite, Sabre, I seem to only be one, no matter where I am. TR!Sabre: I'm sorry you can't go back to your own universe, that must be tough. I guess I should get going then. "Time Steve": Wait. Focus on the sword I gave you. Once you enter the universe you can use it as an extension of yourself. TR!Sabre: Okay.. |
„ |
| ~ "Time Steve" painting himself in a sympathetic light to Sabre, further motivating him to retrieve the Core and help him. |
| “ | TR!Sabre: Huh. Now that I think about it, if I have control in this universe, why don't I just destroy things in an instant or just make people cease to exist? The First Curse: You may have the ability to control your own universe, but actually doing so is a different thing. That is a skill you must gain through practice. TR!Sabre: So for now, this sword should help me then? The First Curse: Yes. That, and your own ability that you have already discovered. Now, please retrieve me the power source. |
„ |
| ~ The First Curse instructing Sabre to locate the Core. |
| “ | "Time Steve": Ah, welcome back, Sabre. Have you retrieved the-- TR!Sabre: What was that!? WHO was that!? "Time Steve": I do not understand what you're asking me. TR!Sabre: Stop it! I know you saw it! Them! "Time Steve": You seem so surprised to see him, why should it matter? TR!Sabre: Because that was me! "Time Steve": And? I have already shown you that the other Sabre had a version of himself, why are you so surprised to see a version like that here? TR!Sabre: I--I didn't think!-- "Time Steve": Well, maybe you should. It doesn't matter if he is here or there, what matters is that this universe is yours. TR!Sabre: Does he know, that he's... me? "Time Steve": That, I do not have an answer for, Sabre. I cannot see everything. Now, have you retrieved the power source? TR!Sabre: [Sabre shows him the Core] The Core? Yeah. "Time Steve": [laughter] Please, give it to me. TR!Sabre: Why did you need this, again? "Time Steve": Give it to me and I'll show you. TR!Sabre: Y'know, I'd appreciate a little more trust here. The First Curse: [sighs] Fine. I will show you trust if that is what you desire. I haven't been entirely open with you, Sabre. I need that power source because of its unique properties. You see, I've seen it before, but back then, I was interrupted by someone before I could understand its properties. It has the power to protect an entire land, or, if needed, one single person from falling apart. I have a curse. Specifically, I am a curse. The curse of power. The original. I decided to take the form of this one as I was unsure if you had any memories of the past, if you had a connection to the past Sabre. My old self was defeated by those in the original universe! But the curse that dwelled alongside me, a part of me, is forever. Barely existing, it searched through the pockets of the multiverse to find a new form to attach to, and that's when I found this... It seems I wasn't the only one who shattered and was in search of themself again. I found a fragment of the master of time [in-between moments of laughter], and cursed him! Merging myself with the fragment, allowing me chances to travel through time and space, which lead me to you. I am the first of despair! A curse which lasts forever, as long as there is existence! There is only one of me, but because of curses, I AM EVERYWHERE! AHAHAHA! I... AM THE FIRST CURSE! So, now that I've told you the truth, what will you do? The choice is yours, Sabre. Just know that I will do as I must, no matter who stands in my way. TR!Sabre: Even me? The First Curse: Especially you. TR!Sabre: I have seen far more than I ever could've imagined. A mere moment ago, I was scared, alone, worthless... No one dared interact with me other than to use me! And if it wasn't for that, they would be destroyed before my very eyes! The First Curse: [laughter] Whatever you think this is, I will NOT hold back-- TR!Sabre: But then I saw it! Just as Origin saw his path, I understand now... No... I have understood for a while now. The First Curse: Do you think I have been lying to you? Coercing you? TR!Sabre: Everyone seems to think that. [laughter] But here's the thing; the moment you showed me the events of the past, I always knew who you were. The First Curse: You.. what?-- TR!Sabre: I'm not blind! You showed me enough to see that you are not the person you were pretending to be! The First Curse: [he lets out a sigh of frustration and pulls out his staff] Now, I must protect myself. [The First Curse quickly transforms the dimension into a battleground]' |
„ |
| ~ The First Curse revealing himself to Sabre. |
| “ | The First Curse: I must warn you, inside here, you cannot harm me. TR!Sabre: [in-between bouts of laughter] BUT LIKE I'VE SAID BEFORE, THEY THINK I'M BEING CONTROLLED! IN REALITY!... I am in control I AM THE ONE WHO WANTS THIS! I KNOW YOU WANT TO DESTROY! TO CURSE! I KNOW! AND I WANT IT! I WANT IT! NOT JUST FOR MY UNIVERSE TO PAY, BUT FOR ALL THE OTHERS! THOSE WHO HAVE SABRES THAT SUPPOSEDLY GOT THE GOOD LUCK! Maybe then we'll see who got the short end of the stick. I was never going to stop you, I just wanted you to be open with me. The First Curse: I MUST SAY! I am both quite relieved and shocked, Sabre. Maybe you really are a monster... [laughter] TR!Sabre: The thing about monsters... is that they are created. The First Curse: We are on the verge of something beautiful, Sabre. The beauty of destruction. Not just the ceasing of existence, but the continuous suffering of it! I am pleased to have you by my side. TR!Sabre: Here [he hands the Core to the First Curse] Now, where do we start? The First Curse: We can split. You go inward to your universe and do what you desire. Gain complete control. I... will go outward, to the multiverse. I cannot seem to return to my original, but there is a plethora or opportunity within the remaining infinite. TR!Sabre: How do I gain complete control? The First Curse: Absorb them. Re-unify the mind, then you will have full power, full control. TR!Sabre: Absorb them? The First Curse: They will fight, act of their own volition, but once weakened, you can unite and become more powerful. Absorb enough, and you can unlock full power. Take what is rightfully yours. Remorse is for the weak! Guilt requires conscience. Your mind requires control, and power demands obedience! I may be the curse of power, but that name was given to me. I did not choose to be referenced to as a curse! I DIDN'T BELIEVE FOR A SECOND IT WAS A CURSE! THE ONLY BEINGS THAT REFERRED TO ME AS SUCH WERE THOSE WHO DIDN'T HAVE IT! They call it a curse because it isn't THEIRS. [he begins to absorb the Core and laughs maniacally] MORE!!! |
„ |
| ~ The First Curse prepares to fight Sabre, but lowers his guard and allows him to join him after seeing he wants the same thing he does. |
| “ | The First Curse: This... is the moment I've been waiting for. The solution... to limitless power. TR!Sabre: Where are we now? The First Curse: The crossroads to the path you must take... As I told you, you must make your decision. Here at the crossroads, you cannot go back. Enter the infinite multiverse with me... conquer every world, every universe! With me! Or... do what you believe you must... Focus inward, and control that of which is within you. TR!Sabre: You seem competent enough to handle your path alone... I think you know my answer. The First Curse: I still thought I would offer nonetheless. You're probably going to be the only Sabre I enjoy having around after all... TR!Sabre: I wouldn't necessarily say that. With infinite universes comes-- The First Curse: Infinite possibilities... Here. [he walks up to TR!Sabre and bestows him with some power] I've never trusted anyone... how odd... TR!Sabre: What did you just give me? The First Curse: A small shortcut. Power from outside of your universe. Now goodbye, Sabre. Take what's yours. TR!Sabre: Goodbye [he walks off and enters his universe as the First Curse begins laughing]. The First Curse: Take what's yours... and destroy it all! |
