| “ | You have forsaken me. Your words mean nothing. I can see your soul, your intention. You have faltered in the way of the Darkness. | „ |
| ~ The Great One after summoning Shadow Sabre to him. |
| “ | I have become too lenient on those below me. It appears I must remind everyone that I am no myth, but a god. With all of the Darkness now within me, I am without a doubt the most powerful being in the world. No... in the universe. Though, it seems I have forgotten what a nuisance my size can be in this world, especially to contain my power. It has been a while since I felt the sun upon my body... How disgusting. I must find this "Sabre" and deal with him, so I can return to dealing with the light. That pathetic Elite may underestimate this foe... but I am waiting, Sabre. I can sense you left this world, but once you return, I will find you. I will cause your demise. And at the end of it, just like the rest of this world and every inhabitant, all you will see... is darkness... | „ |
| ~ The Great One arriving in the Overworld. |
| “ | Fight me... the real way, or are you too weak? Witness true strength. | „ |
| ~ The Great One facing off against Sabre. |
The Great One is the overarching antagonist of the 2021-22 web series Twisted Rainbow, the third installment of Steve Cinematic Universe. He is the primary controller of Darkness and the supreme leader of The Dark Guard. It is unclear whether The Great One is Void Steve or an entirely new entity.
Personality[]
| “ | You are interfering with my glory. | „ |
| ~ The Great One and Shadow Sabre fighting. |
The Great One is a malevolent person, wanting all Steves to suffer. He is also very arrogant, self-proclaiming that he was the world's strongest entity. The Great One used manipulative appeal to indoctrinate various people to join his cause and wreak havoc upon the world on his behalf. He despises the sun and anything with light.
History[]
The Darkness Sets[]
After hearing of Twisted Rainbow and his attempts to rule the world by infecting Steves and turning them into Twisted, rather than interfering himself, The Great One decided to have other people do the work for him. He had found a way to make the Darkness unbalanced and breach into the Overworld, and gained a cult following with various people worshiping and forming The Dark Guard. The Great One watched his followers efforts in world domination. One particular guard got his attention when he destroyed the entire Red Kingdom. The Great One decided he was worthy of being an elite and gave a piece of The Core, the Red Kingdom's power source, as as a symbol of his newly attained status.
Shadow Sabre[]
The Great One witnessed what the arrival of Sabre had done to his plans. The entire Dark Guard was disarray and the Elite Guard, Shadow, had been thrown across the world. He watched Shadow make his way back to the Core to beg him for more power. He witnessed Shadow's meeting with Sabre, and when Shadow called out for The Great One to help him, he obliged, giving him a major power boost. Despite this, he had still failed. The Great One saw Shadow slowly become less associated with the Darkness, even being in the company of a Red Steve. Eventually, The Great One was able to connect to Shadow and knock him out by force so that they could meet.
The Great One expresses his disappointment in Shadow losing his way and revokes his status as an elite guard, although he does decide not to kill him as repayment for his former commitment. Shadow protests and explains his reasoning, but The Great One scoffs it off. Believing that no other power could surpass his own, The Great One decides to temporarily pull back all the Darkness the Dark Guard had gathered, as well as all of the Darkness that attached to the land. He planned on taking care of Sabre to ensure his plans weren't ruined, and eventually conquer all of the Steves himself.
The Crossroads[]
The Great One is able to teleport himself to the Overworld and shrink himself down to regular size. As he prepares to leave, a pig approaches him. The Great One speeds off, infecting the pig and leaving a trail of Darkness behind him. He proclaims that he will find Sabre and kill him, so that he can return to his plans to plunge the world into darkness. He infects the land and several other Steves as he makes his way to Sabre's location, having sensed him return to the Overworld.
The Great One bursts into the Rainbow Hub. Sabre, unintimidated, throws a punch that The Great One takes with ease. The Great One suggests that Sabre fight him in a true fashion. Sabre obliges, throwing him into a wall. The two fight, but are briefly distracted by Assistant Steve who is about to self-destruct. Shadow Sabre and M arrive to intervene. M turns off the self-destruct sequence and leaves with the machine as The Great One sets his sight on Shadow Sabre. He and Sabre both punch him into a wall before returning to their fight. Shadow Sabre gets a second wind, throwing Sabre into a wall. Shadow yells at The Great One for pushing him away. The Great One reveals that Shadow wouldn't be strong enough to defeat Sabre, no matter how much power he was given; he would only be a distraction. Sabre is given an opening, stabbing The Great One from behind with his hand alone, absorbing him and taking control of all the Darkness. The Great One's influence puts some Darkness on Sabre's face, and allows him to reach full potential and absorb the entire universe, killing everyone else.
