~ The Hate Sinker. |
The Hate Sinker is the main antagonist of the Hate Sink Wiki Chronicles and a major antagonist in the Fandom Chronicles as a whole. He is an angel-like creature from another world who is obsessed with eliminating the "Hate Sink" category and removing every page on the Hate Sink Wiki.
Biography[]
The Hate Sinker comes from a race of angel-like spirits who have a culture which prioritizes compassion above all else. The fictional media produced by this culture has no concept of "Hate Sink" villains; the most irredeemably heinous fictional villains are written to inspire pity and sorrow, not hate. The only reason anyone would have to hate a fictional character is if they were horribly-written, and thus blame should go to the author for being so bad at writing characters. The idea of intentionally writing a character specifically to displease the audience is a completely alien one to this society.
Therefore, it's easy to see how, as he was visiting the human world one day, he was incredibly confused when he first heard of the Hate Sink Wiki. After the Hate Sinker had the concept of a "Hate Sink" explained to him, he said that it was "the stupidest thing that I've ever heard of, and I've heard of some really stupid things in my time." The only reason he could understand why someone would intentionally make an unpleasing (and therefore, in his eyes, badly-written) character would be if they were a parody of bad writing, but apparently Hate Sinks can't be too comedic so not even that explanation made sense to him. The culture shock of this experience was so great that he adopted the persona of the "Hate Sinker," and began working on getting as many pages cut from the Hate Sink Wiki as he could to expose what he considered the inherently nonsensical nature of the trope.
In order to aid in his plans, he financed the creation of a drug that he called "L.O.V.E." (short for "Lessen Overtly Vile Experiences"), which chemically affects the brain to be less repulsed by witnessing or hearing about certain things and to broaden which experiences they find amusing. His most common tactic is to wait for people to discuss a Hate Sink (either on their own or from him manipulating them to do so) and then drugging them all when they aren't paying attention. However, as will be seen below, he sometimes uses other tactics that don't involve the drug. He also targets hate sinks that Redd White has blackmailed with information that they are not hate sinks and plans to use the ban hammer on them.
Known Victims[]
Offical Works[]
- Big Jack Horner - One of his most proud cuts, the Hate Sinker made a private deal with the PE Executioner where he would help in cutting Jack Horner from PE free of charge. After Jack was cut from PE, the Hate Sinker didn't even have to do anything as Jack was swiftly cut from the Hate Sink Wiki soon after.
- Chelsea Van Der Zee - The Hate Sinker expended a lot of his "L.O.V.E." drug in order to make Chelsea look like an "evil is cool" villain with endearingly comedic moments, but after her page being cut, restored, cut again, restored again, cut yet again, restored yet again, and so on, he finally succeeded in convincing everyone Chelsea didn't count.
- Judge Claude Frollo - This was perhaps the Hate Sinker's biggest challenge ever. No amount of drugs he used was able to make Frollo endearing, so instead he dug up a YouTube video of Tony Jay calling Frollo "a fully-fleshed, three-dimensional character." This worked for quite a while and with Frollo being disallowed. But things changed when the wiki found an article that claimed Frollo was inspired by Amon Goeth from Schindler's List, meaning he got a page on the wiki. The Hate Sinker then looked for on-screen evidence that Frollo is supposed to be complex, and he eventually did in the form of the song "Hellfire," getting Frollo cut again. The Hate Sinker considers Frollo's case the best argument in his favor, but he is also paranoid that Frollo might get restored.
- Kristoph Gavin - He used his signature "L.O.V.E." drug to make people pay less attention to Kristoph's heinousness and pettiness, and more on his charm and intelligence.
- Kronos (Greek mythology) - The Hate Sinker manipulated Mp-hj into discovering the article for Kronos on Hate Sink Wiki, hoping that Mp-hj would be enough of a history nerd to constantly complain about the article's mere existance. It worked.
- Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) - This time, the Hate Sinker didn't have to manipulate anyone, use any drugs, or anything of that sort. He simply pointed out to the wiki's users that the article existed and his work was done. Probably his easiest cut ever.
- Scar (Disney) - He drugged people to find Scar's song "Be Prepared" much cooler than they would normally (and even still, it's a pretty good song without drugs, too) and find his dry humour and other quirks more endearing. Instead, he was swapped with his Scrappy 2019 version.
- Scar (remake) - He talked with Disney executives to have them make a prequel to The Lion King remake that attempted to give Scar a sympathetic background.
- Tom's Owner - The Hate Sinker pointed out how the hatred that Tom's Owner got was most likely unintended, making him a Scrappy instead. This incident would be fairly minor had it not been for how often the Hate Sinker cites it as an argument that the trope doesn't actually exist and that all "Hate Sinks" are just badly-written. It's really annoying.
- Murray Franklin and Thomas Wayne (Joker) - He invaded Ordeaux26's mind with drugs and convinced him that the two weren't meant to be hated, resulting in him deleting the two's pages.
- Policemen (Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy) - Tricked a user who had a personal hatred for the characters into making the page.
- Emma Grossman - Pointed out that she was meant to have "evil is cool" moments, despite how vile she is.
- Jill Roberts (Scream) - Despite her egotism, the Hate Sinker pointed out that the late Wes Craven was planning on re-working her, yet never did as he died before the fifth and sixth Scream films were produced.
- Derek Lucks - He pointed out that he wasn't intended to be hated, which got him removed.
- Uncle Frank and Buzz McCallister - Drugged people into believing that they're too laughable to be Hate Sinks.
- William Afton - TBA
- Ozai - TBA
- Emperor Belos - Waged a months-long campaign of drugging people, moving documents on Belos' backstory to the forefront, breaking and entering into children's homes to convince them that Belos is cool, and showing off as much Belos fan content from Tumblr as possible to make people find him to be a more multilayered character.
- Mammon (Helluva Boss) - Gave him so many comedic moments it would be impossible to hate him in spite of all the horrid things he did.
- Lord Cutler Beckett - TBA
- The Core - TBA
- Jindiao - TBA
- Supreme Deity - TBA
- Demon King - TBA
- Apep (mythology) - Pointed out that ancient Egyptians feared him more than they hated him.
- Ego (MCU) - TBA
- Scroop - TBA
- Merlock the Magician - TBA
- The Fallen - TBA
- Rick Prime - TBA
- Christian Bateman - TBA
- Eleanor (Fazbear Frights) - TBA
- Mr. Goodman - TBA
- Warden Melnikov - TBA
- J. Jonah Jameson (MCU) - TBA
- Korekiyo's Sister - TBA
- Adam Taurus - TBA
- Zoom (Arrowverse) - TBA
- Muzan Kibutsuji - TBA
- Mahito - TBA
- Diavolo (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) - Made Araki realize he is his fourth favorite character thus deeming he is too complex.
- Ares (God of War) - TBA
- Ronan the Accuser - TBA
- All For One - TBA
- Randall Boggs - TBA
- Billy Loomis - TBA
- Nancy Loomis - TBA
- Roman Bridger - TBA
- AM - Inspired his creator Harlan Ellison to voice him in the video game as well as convinced several media companies to create evil AIs inspired form him.
- Jack Welker - TBA
- Colm O'Driscoll - TBA
- Ragyō Kiryūin - TBA
- Commander Fox - Gaslit people into believing he was overhated and was actually meant to be seen as morally gray.
- Jimmy (Mouthwashing) - Wasn't intended on it, Jimmy just blackmailed him into removing his Hate Sink status making it unworthy.
- Infinite - Brainwashed everyone into thinking he was too Evil is Cool.
- Yuuki Terumi - Ditto.
- Sgt. Hartman: Pointed out he is a realistic drill Sargent doing his job.
- Danzō Shimura: Made his final moments play for sympathy
- Biggie Bear - Noticing Biggie Bear's Near Pure Evil page getting removed due to false information, he realized that the reasons that he was a Hate Sink were essentially the same as the reason for him being Near Pure Evil, so he went to destroy Biggie's page for false information. Biggie Bear would later be blacklisted.
- Sid's Family: Made them too comedic to be Hateable.
- All Hentai Hate Sinks: Made an alliance with VB Scout to help convince Fandom Update their guidelines to get all Hentai related stuff banned nuking all pages of the characters related to the Methamorphosis and other series that violate the guidelines.
- Chaos Sonic: Rewrote and redesigned Chaos Sonic to have too many “Love to Hate” qualities for Sonic Prime. He would end up accidentally cause a version of him to go on a murderous rampage to kill all HS and destroy the HS Wiki if he isn’t let back in.
- Manfred von Karma: He was among many individuals he jettisoned from the Wiki for being PE-lite, and later he told the Hate Sink Wiki admins that he is too deft to be a Hate Sink.
- Skar King - Tried to convince an user he has too many "Evil Are Cool" moments to put a deletion template on the page but other users swayed him to undo it. Though he managed to convince an Fandom Mods to nuke his page by tricking them into thinking it was violating their guidelines. Valinteno - Same as Skar King.
- Michael (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime): Pointed out his page is an one-line article and the character is an "Evil Are Cool" Villain and his death is too sympathetic that make him unable to quality as one.
Fanon Works[]
- TBD
Failed Victims[]
Offical Works[]
- Pete Whipple: Paramount made him too hateable to redeem.
- Staffan Heivish: Saw him too disgusting of a rapist and corrupt official to even bother removing from the Wiki.
- Biff Tannen (Back to the Future: The Animated Series): Unable to find any disqualifications so far due to show being almost lost media to find a way to watch it.
Fanon Works[]
- Mr. Virgil - One day he approached Mr. Virgil attempting to get his page removed, but he learned about the "Creator's Intent Shield" set up by the author of the fanfiction he originates from. This barrier makes it abundantly clear that a character is supposed to be loathed, and the Hate Sinker was distraught about learning this.
Personality[]
Coming from a culture where hatred even for the most despicable people isn't a concept, the Hate Sinker is usually quite affable and kind when dealing with most people. Even when he's engaged in his obsessive quest to destroy the Hate Sink Wiki, he feels no animosity for the people running the wiki, but instead thinks they are misguided and need some help. However, while he might not feel animosity towards his enemies, he still feels things like annoyance and anger at their refusal to cooperate with his goals.
Trivia[]
- His image originates from a holy card of St. Michael edited a few times.
- He is inspired by all the Moral Scaling Killers.
- The Hate Sinker has a friendly rivalry with the MB Butcher.
- He believes that the most explicitly detestable characters (Dolores Umbridge, Shou Tucker, etc.) should be put on the Scrappy Wiki instead because they're hated by the majority of their fanbases and (according to him) that makes them Scrappies. For this reason he is banned on the Scrappy Wiki.
- He is convinced that Emperor Belos is a multilayered, quasi-tragic figure, and often describes Belos as "Frollo meets Griffith" when discussing The Owl House with others (even if they're actual children who are too young to know who Griffith is).
- He is similarly convinced that William Afton is written to evoke "evil is cool" as much as possible, and that he is way too iconic to be loathesome. Having said that, even the Hate Sinker is confused by the people who think Afton is tragic, showing that he has standards.
- He frequently shills the Entertainingly Detestable Wiki across the internet.
