No prisons are eternal. My escape is inevitable
~ The Green King to Charlie
I have been wondering. I don't know if it was a dream or reality but i was in my hometown and... i saw someone, someone in green clothing. I know all of the faces, in my hometown, so who was that stranger? I see him when i sleep. I almost got myself killed trying to find him this time. But i cannot give up. Something draws me closer. I need to see who is it. I just have this feeling, i cannot describe it but...It is like my mind wants me to see him again and again....
~ A found tape describing the green king

The King in Green, or Assetur, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Aphoom-Zhah) of Hazbin Hotel: Hellbound, serving as the overarching antagonist of most of the flashback scenes, as well as main antagonist of Episodes "The Impossible place" and "Charlie in dreamland".

He is the ruler of the dreamlands as well a cosmic entity. He seeks to corrupt all life as well as escape the dreamlands.

Appearance[]

The King in Green Most Commonly appears as a tall figure in Green-Greyish Clothing wearing a top hat, with a white hair and neon-like eyes on him, as well as tentacle on his back. His teeth and mouth are also a neon like colour, his skin is a mix between blue and dark grey, however some described it as neon-glowing. He also usually has a yellow-like cane with an eye on it, however he can appear in almost any form, for example he appeared in charlie's dream as a 10 large dark green tentacles coming out of a grey portal. He was also described as an eye that has infinite versions of itself in it. He also appeared as a twisted version of God, this being watched by 4 grey eyes, and having a cosmos themed suit instead of a white/cloud like one, and having grey clothing instead of white

Personality[]

The green king is a very jealous, greedy, and prideful person, even before his betrayal of his brothers, he was constantly jealous of their possessions and achievements, as he always wanted to outdo them and exalted his own achievements, even getting into several disputes with them, The Green King also lacks any remorse or regrets, as he generally does not value life or even its creators, seeing beings below him as mere servants, he is also wrathful, although he is able to keep his cool normally, even appearing as someone who cares about them, as he usually uses his victims weaknesses to their advantage, however when the said victims rejects him, or even tries to expose him the green king will usually have a meltdown, appearing in more twisted forms and often threatening the said victim, dragging them into the dreamlands forever.

Although it would be assumed that he was a sadist, it is not confirmed whenever he is a sadist or not, and it is implied he tortures people to "show them that he can" rather than out of sadism, however neither theory was confirmed so far

History[]

Past[]

The King in Green is one of the earliest forms of evil, being on of three creators of the universe (The others being god and yog sothoth) and is considered to be an equal to them. After the creation he was given complete control over the dreamlands but was able to go outside of it, However he wanted more, and he began to corrupt lifeforms. Due to this, God and Yog began to become suspicious over him. After god created the angels, yog the elder things (And some demons), Assetur wanted to create his own version of them, however he did not create them with the intention of Good, Nor with the Intention of creating helpers, but rather to create beings of corruption.

The 2 most powerful beings he created were Samael, the angel of death and Apollyon, the angel of corruption. After this he planned to use his forces to invade the rest of the universe. He was able to take over large parts of the universe, however God was later informed about this, and they began to battle. Due to them being equals the fight was an endless stalemate, however one of god's angels managed to convince Yog that once The Green King took over the universe he would betray Yog, And thus Yog joined god's side. They defeated Assetur and locked him away in the dreamlands, they made the realm 100% locked up.

After seeing his master's defeat, Samael joined god's side, Apollyon went into hiding on a remote planet and most of Assetur's forces surrendered. God eventually created hell to imprison the corrupted angels, many of whom eventually became demons. Hell eventually began to develop their own species with the help of Yog, beings such as imps, archdemons, and others began to be born in hell, hell was not seen as a bad place at the time but rather one to test creation in. After humanity was created, there was a chance for a new evil to be born.

Assetur, while being mostly out of the scenes was able to cause a minor conflict in heaven, this lead to Lucifer blaming Micheal for many things. After the first of humanity was created, Yog's son went to earth in the disguise of an eel-serpent like being to explore creation. Eventually Apollyon (Now going under the alias of "The Devil") Tricked him into giving Eva an apple, thus causing corruption in humanity. After this, The Eel was banished into the Maelstorm realm by Yog, however he was able to enter hell. After this, several parts of humanity began to sin and corrupt, in punishment god and his angels began to banish them to hell, which at this point was full of warlords such as Narsissis, Mammon, Satan fighting over territory. A few decades later when lucifer fell, he took control of hell and created a definitive hiarchy, Eventually, Satan made a deal with the green king that if he recieve great power, he will spread his word, he eventually accepeted it as he was able to trap several imps and hellhounds in the dreamlands.

Present.[]

The Green King's role in the serious is rather minor, only appearing in 2 Episodes and only being mentioned in one. His first mention in the series is during season 2, when Nergal shows Charlie his painting collection, one of them resembles the green king. The first actual appearance is in "The Impossible Place" Where an imp named "Joey" is trying to find out who the green king is, eventually he is trapped in the dreamlands. The final tape of Joey is found by Loona, who thinks it is just some prank. His second appearance is during the episode "Charlie in Dreamland" Where he tries to convince Charlie to free him, Charlie eventually escapes the dreamlands and refuses the offer.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Nigh-Omnipotence: Being one of the three creators of the universe (Yog-sothoth, God/Jenovah) Much like them, The green king also has nigh-omnipotence, and is said to be one of the most powerful beings, the only to defeat him was by Yog and God teaming up against him, even then some of his influence and deals remained. His only drawback is that he was able to be locked up in the dreamlands, Assetur is said to be able to use almost any power in almost any way, only having small limitations, however most of his powers were not shown, or did not have enough uses of it, so they are listed under this ie: Blasts, Energy Manipulation, Shadow Manipulation and many more.
  • Omnimalevolence: Assetur is said, and shown to be infinitely evil. He is stated to be the first force of evil and sin. However despite what some people might think, Assetur does not actually embody evil but is rather said to be be origin of it.
  • Insanity Manipulation: Assetur is able to slowly drive beings, even with strong telepathy insane with his mind tricks. If one has seen his sigil, or heard his name he is able to heavily damage their mind, sanity and drag them into the dreamlands, the only survivors of this were Satan and Charlie, however it could be argued that the King let them get away willingly
  • Immortality: Not only is Assetur immortal, but is also crucial to existence itself, as yog-sothoth stated, it is impossible to kill or to forever get rid off him, he will exist forever, as light needs darkness, good needs evil.
  • Void Manipulation: Assetur is able to create, destroy or manipulate both the dimension of the void, as well as void holes, and is able to use it to invade parts of reality, even being able to use it in the dreamlands, however to a limited extent
  • Dream/Memory Manipulation: Much like with his insanity mind tricks, assetur is able to manipulate the memories and dreams of beings who has seen his sigil or heard his name, one example being him haunting charlie's dream, the other being where he manipulates the memories and dreams of an imp named "joey", eventually dragging him into the dreamlands
  • Omni-manifestation: Both in (and formerly outside) of the dreamlands, Assetur is able to take any form, shape, and size, altough his most famous form is that of a tall green-squid like humanoid figure, he has countless other forms, such as the tentacles, the black-shadow like figure, and his form of lucifer melting, which he used to torment charlie
