Erik Destler, better known as The Phantom of the Opera, is the antagonist of the eighth episode of the Webtoon comic The Legends of Van Helsing, being loosely based on the titular character of Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel The Phantom of the Opera.

He was a musican who killed a whole audience in the opera house as he played piano on a suspended piano. It's not stated but on his bow tie he has the Watcher symbol so it can be assumed that he is a member of that organization. It is seen in the comic that Erik killed many people in the opera house and is shown to have the ability to teleport around which he uses a lot.

Trivia[]

This incarnation of the character shares its name with the 1989 horror film version portrayed by horror film icon Robert Englund.
