Let me share you a story like many have before at this very campfire. Sharing stories of home brings out the belief of urban legends, stories, and the darker secrets of communities. With those myths, something came forth. A shared fear of something awful. Your new map is Oakside Park. This park was famous for its connections to disappearances and its haunting atmosphere. Long since abandoned, it's nothing more than a memory of a nightmare shared by countless communities and connected tragedies. The new killer is: the Slenderman. Brought forth by survivors, their shared tall tales and legends had a connection, one strong enough to manifest itself naturally by growing in the shadow of the Entity... uninvited. They didn't believe it, and thought the story was safe enough to share here of all places. After all, myths aren't real. A figure with arms long and outstretching, with tendrils extending from its back, and a pale face devoid of features, had formed in the Fog itself. An enigma to both survivors and the Entity. The frightening presence.
~ The narrator describing the Slenderman.

The Slenderman is a character conceptualized by Rarithlynx and the Dead By Daylight Community Concept Team as a fanmade playable character for the video game Dead By Daylight, based on the original version by Eric "Victor Surge" Knudsen, as well as borrows elements from the webseries Marble Hornets and the Slender video game adaptations. He is a malevolent entity that seeks to kill humans as well as claim the notes scattered around his dwelling, Oakside Park.

Biography[]

The Slenderman is rumored to be as old as time itself, and has haunted people for centuries. His legend spread far beyond its dwelling of Oakside Park, and sharing his legend draws him forth.

In the lore of Dead By Daylight, a powerful being known only as the Entity takes people, given the term Survivors, and killers from different times and universes and forces them to participate in trials to feed the Entity's hunger for fear and suffering.

In the trials conducted within Oakside Park, the Slenderman has arrived uninvited, drawn to the stories being told about him and the suffering of the Survivors, a rogue element that is a mystery to even the Entity. The Slender man hunts down the Survivors, seeking to kill and torture them for his own amusement rather than at the whims of the Entity.

Powers and Abilities[]

The Slenderman has a speed of 4.6 meters per second, and a Terror Radius of 24 meters.

Power[]

The Slenderman's power is referred to as "Awful Paranoia". Generators, the tools that Survivors use in most trials, are expelled from the trial entirely when the Slenderman is the killer. They are replaced by pages. When eight pages total are claimed by Survivors, the exit gates open. However, the Slenderman can also claim pages, and with each page collected by either him or Survivors, the Slenderman grows in strength. At three pages collected, Survivors near pages are inflicted with the "Unnerve" effect, where line of sight is obscured and the sound of heartbeats plays. At five pages, Survivors inflicted with Unnerve become highlighted to the Slenderman. At eight pages, all Survivors become Unnerved permanently. The Slenderman can use his power to highlight all Survivors in this state.

Arrival[]

When a Survivor is Unnerved and highlighted, the Slenderman can activate "Arrival". By selecting a target, the Slenderman can teleport to the target, though this uses much of his power.

Perks[]

Lasting Impression[]

After the Slenderman hits four different Surivors with a basic attack, the Auras of all Auriviors are revealed for a short time.

Invasive Silence[]

With "Invasive Silence", when a Survivor cleanses a Totem, they become deafened for a period of time. If the Totem was a Hex Totem, that Survivor becomes the Obsession and all Survivors are deafened for a time.

Hex: Word of Mouth[]

A new Hex Perk, "Word of Mouth", makes it so that when the Slenderman deals damage to a survivor, a nearby Dull Totem becomes a Hex Totem, and any Survivor that attempts to interact with it while active is cursed to suffer a penalty to Repair, Healing, and Cleansing speeds. The Entity intervenes and blocks the Totem in question until the duration ends, where the Totem will return to a Dull state.
