Nathan Selove, also known as The Spirit, is one of the two secondary antagonists of the Nathaniel Bandy YouTube channel (alongside Simpleflips).
He serves as the main antagonist of the Nathaniel Bandy Frustration series and Super Mario 74: Extreme Edition, and as a flashback antagonist of Mini Super Mario 64 ROM Hacks 3. He is a fictional omnipotent ghostly gamer created by Monster Energy drink who wants to kidnap Nathaniel Bandy so as to please BUP, who granted him powers so he could enact his plan.
However, he could feel nothing except rage and wrath against Bandy and, as a result, was unable to control his powers, accidentally creating the Angel, a complete opposite of the Spirit and his malicious personality.
Following the end of the Nathaniel Bandy Frustration series, he saw a notable decrease in appearances but has recently reappeared in the Nathaniel Bandy Originals series. He also has his own (now-defunct) YouTube channel.
He is portrayed by Nathan Selove.
Personality[]
The Spirit is wrathful, violent, bloodthirsty, sadistic, destructive and full of hatred and anger. He will do anything to please BUP and bring him Nathaniel Bandy, but is unable to control his fury. Due to his, he is unable to control his powers and almost always meets his comeuppance.
Aside from his anger, the only way standing between him and Bandy is the Angel, a female ghost who is the entire opposite of the Spirit: calm, kind, helpful and lawful, she is always there to keep the Spirit in check.
However, it should be considered that, despite his malice, he is, deep down, a good person. This is nowhere more evident than in the finale of the Frustration series, where Nathaniel Bandy dies from drinking to much Monster Energy. Despite her best attempts, the Angel is unable to revive him. However, the Spirit has a change of heart and, throwing off BUP's influence, uses all his power to revive him before leaving with the Angel. However, it doesn't take much to pull him back over to the dark side, as seen in Super Mario 74: Extreme Edition, where he is yet again working for BUP and has captured Nathaniel and his friend Carl Bayliss.

- With his omnipotent abilities, The Spirit, alongside his master BUP, is one of the most powerful villains in the Nathaniel Bandy universe, with skills ranging from pyrokinesis to superhuman strength to telekinesis to energy projection and even the ability to create entire other people, as shown with him accidentally creating the Angel.
- With the Frustration series starting in around 2012, The Spirit is the oldest villain in the entire history of the Nathaniel Bandy YouTube channel.
