Well well well, if it isn't Beverly. You thought that you could escape from me, but I found the Winter Soldier, or as was said your writer friend's brother, and sent him on this mission to find you and bring you here.
~ Tom after seeing Beverly for the first time in 2 months.
Oh, so you're just an idiot who loves to defy someone asking you questions. Winter Soldier, kill this moron.
~ Tom Rogan mocking Audra Phillips, then ordering Winter Soldier to kill her for refusing to tell him Beverly's location.
Tom: So you're the writer friend of Bev. I'm Tom.

Bill: Bill Denbrough. What are you doing out here?
Tom: I do have intentions to turn over a new leaf, and I want to show these intentions by inviting you all to my house. I'm planning to get it fixed up very soon.
Bill: Sure.

~ Bill and Tom interacting.

Thomas "Tom" Rogan is a minor antagonist in IT: Chapter 2 and the main antagonist in the fanfiction Old Enemies. He also appears in the sequel The Stuttering Man and the Winter Soldier as the posthumous overarching antagonist.

He is implied to have used to been the president and general manager of Beverly Fashions, Inc. Sometime later, he became a criminal after she left him. He is Beverly Marsh's abusive ex-husband, the second archenemy of Bill Denbrough, Mike Hanlon Richie Tozier, and Ben Hanscom. He is also the former employer of Georgie Denbrough/Winter Soldier.

Biography[]

You asked for your own whuppin now!
~ Tom slowly losing his temper after as he got his leather belt with the intenion to give her another whuppin.

IT: Chapter 2[]

For Tom's behavior in IT: Chapter 2, see here.

Old Enemies[]

Picking up the Winter Soldier from Saint Petersburg[]

Tom Rogan then arrived in Saint Petersburg, and he remarked that the Winter Soldier is the perfect tool for him to have his revenge on The Losers Club.

Having Audra Phillips killed[]

After Winter Soldier abducts Audra, she is tied up to a pole as Tom stood in front of her. He then asks her where Beverly is, only for her to refuse to tell him. This causes Tom to order the Winter Soldier to kill her, and he obliges. He then tells Winter Soldier to go and capture Beverly, but must kill anyone who stands in his way.

Running into Beverly again[]

After Winter Soldier (revealed to be none other than Georgie Denbrough) brings Beverly over to Tom's lair and pushes her onto the floor, he remarks how she though she could escape from him, and mocks her by informing her that it was Bill's own brother that he sent out on the mission to capture her. He then decided to use the trigger words to erase the memories that Georgie's mind had been trying to fill the gaps of. After that, he orders him to kill The Losers Club after realizing that if they succeed, Tom would go to jail.

The rest of the Losers Club is planning to have me ratted out. Dispose of them before they get the chance to download any file from my second computer downstairs.
~ Tom ordering Winter Soldier to kill The Losers Club before his crimes are exposed.

Running into The Losers Club[]

Tom then ran into The Losers Club, then met Bill Denbrough, the club leader. He decided to use that to put on a friendly facade, and decided to use that to lure Bill and the rest of The Losers Club into his lair, which was an abandoned house across from the lake.

Final confrontation and death[]

After The Losers Club arrived at the lair, Tom ran off, but with Richie Tozier and Mike Hanlon chasing him. After Beverly was freed, Tom picked up a Glock 36 pistol, and he attempted to aim it at his bedroom door, but Beverly blocked the shot with a serving tray. He was then shoved onto the bed by her, causing the gun to fall out of his hand. He then bucks Beverly off of him, only for Tom to later be shoved onto the dresser. He then stands on the clothes that Richie and Mike tied up, causing him to drop both his belt and gun. As he tries to get his belt to hit Beverly with it, she uses his gun to shoot him in the right arm, left kneecap, and the left foot. Just as he is about to get his belt to give Beverly the biggest whuppin of her entire life, she shoots him in the head, finally killing him. It is implied that his corpse slid into the lake and sunk with the lair and Ben Hanscom's corpse.

Legacy[]

Despite his death, his actions still mentally scar Beverly, because every time she hears about any kind of abuse, she thinks about him.

The Stuttering Man and the Winter Soldier[]

Tom is mentioned several times over the course of the story, and does appear in a flashback. After his death, an autopsy is conducted on him. 5 days later, a funeral is held, and after the service, he is cremated, and his ashes are given to his brother, Scott, who blames Bill for Tom's death, and wishes to avenge him.

Personality[]

Tom Rogan is abusive, which is shown when he gave Beverly whuppins with his leather belt. He is also possessive of women, as shown with Beverly, and even sends out the Winter Soldier out to catch her and bring her to him. When he ran into the rest of The Losers Club, he put on a friendly and welcoming facade.

Trivia[]

  • Tom Rogan is the second villain in a h2023graduate Wattpad story to die, the first being Doctor Octopus.
  • The only reason why h2023graduate picked Tom Rogan to use as the main antagonist in the story is because he hates how he treated Beverly Marsh while they were married.
  • It is unknown where his last resting place is, but h2023graduate is planning to have it be at the Derry Cemetery where his family would have a plot to be buried there, or even have him cremated and his ashes given to an unknown family member.
  • Although Tom Rogan is the main antagonist, he does not confront or even battle Bill Denbrough in the story's climax. Instead, Bill's final enemy is the Winter Soldier, also known as his brother Georgie.
