Twisted Rainbow is the titular central antagonist of the Minecraft web-series of the same name.
He has some sort of connection to Hypno Steve and is the Red Leader of the Red Kingdom. He was created within the mind of an alternate universe variant of Sabre.

Twisted Rainbow, on the surface, is a kind caretaker. He takes Sabre in after he had been fending for himself in the woods, despite M's objections. He allows Sabre to move into a vacant house and stay with him and M in the abandoned Rainbow Hub. When Sabre is kidnapped by the Dark Guard, he comes to his rescue. He begrudgingly decides to spare the Dark Guard rather than killing them upon Sabre's request.
However, behind closed doors, is considered a menace who wants control over everything. The Dark Guard are against Twisted Rainbow due to him ruining the world, leading and controlling the Twisted Steves and ravaging the land. He ends up attempting to get Sabre to come in contact with a zombified Steve for an unknown purpose. He also attempts to kill Sabre after he overhears him threatening M. He ends up taking M's voice away, making him unable to speak his own mind. Twisted Rainbow is both physically and psychologically ruthless towards those who are against him. He takes the opportunity to taunt Sabre for his cowardice when he switches sides.
Despite having much power, he still fears death. Sabre is eventually able to usurp him when his powers are unlocked by The First Curse, and he teleports away in fear when Sabre is about to kill him out of revenge. After Sabre nearly kills him, he lives in constant fear of him.
History[]
Creation[]
After the events of Rainbow Quest, the original version of Sabre had inadvertently created a branching multiverse in the process of saving his reality from The First Curse's destruction. Every Sabre variant was cursed to suffer in every world. However, one Sabre resisted and somehow ended up floating between realities. The universe of Twisted Rainbow was created within him and was designed by the curse to be horrific and twisted. Before Sabre's arrival, there was nothing. The world's past prior to his arrival at the beginning of the series were all fabricated, with the universe itself being created the moment Sabre came. After being created by Sabre, the universe went on on its own, with all life in it being sentient and aware even without Sabre around.
Twisted was originally The Red Leader of the final Red Kingdom. One day while in Professor Red's lab, he put his head through a portal out of curiosity, but while doing so he was corrupted by The Darkness. The Professor luckily noticed him, and pulled him out. To save him, Professor Red infused The Red Leader with The Light Crystal, healing him and transforming him into Light Steve in the process. However, Light Steve betrayed The Professor, forcing him to merge him with The Rainbow Crystals and becoming Rainbow Steve. He began travelling to the civilizations of the other chromatic Steves, destroying their kingdoms and using his powers to control them. He uses the essence of the Rainbow Crystals to corrupt the Steves and turn them into mindless zombies that he can control due to their link. An opposing faction, the Dark Guard, used the power of the Darkness as a rebellion against Twisted Rainbow and his forces.
At some point in time, the Darkness destroys the Red Kingdom. To protect himself, Twisted installs Assistant Steve into the walls of the Core, the Red Kingdom's power source, as a security measure. He was given a command as Twisted's contingency plan. If he dies, then Assistant is tasked to kill all. However, Professor Red wasn't able to make Assistant Steve do what Twisted wanted him to, due to both being rushed and the invasion of the Darkness slowing him down. Twisted decided to forcefully merge Professor Red and Assistant Steve together to make it work. Professor Red is unable to voice his disapproval, as Twisted removed his voice. He also forced Assistant to delete the deactivation codes to ensure the process was irreversible. M witnessed this event, with Twisted forcing him into silent submission.
Sabre's Arrival[]
Sabre ended up encountering Twisted Rainbow's apprentice M after a day of running from the Twisted. He chased M as he ran to the remains of the Yellow Kingdom where Twisted Rainbow resided. Intrigued by Sabre, Twisted Rainbow took him in and gave him a home to keep him complacent and oblivious to his true intentions. When Sabre was kidnapped by the Dark Guard, he and M rescued him. Before getting kidnapped, Sabre had left a sword with a small clock on it, which held mystic power. Twisted Rainbow held onto it and kept it, even after Sabre was rescued, making the excuse that he wanted to study it for him. Twisted Rainbow decided to make his first move by taking Sabre on a walk and tries to convince him that The Twisted weren't all that bad. He encouraged him to move closer to it in an attempt to infect him, which was stopped by M. Twisted Rainbow snapped and told M to leave.
The night after, Twisted Rainbow threatened M with punishment and Sabre overheard them. Believing that Sabre had heard too much and might betray him, he intended to kill him to keep him quiet, but the attempts were stopped by both M and the Elite Dark Guard. Elite took Sabre away and recruited him to the Dark Guard, given that he had pushed Twisted Rainbow over the edge.
War[]
Angry that M had been disobedient again by saving Sabre, Twisted Rainbow removed M's voice so that he could never speak again. He visited the Dark Guard's camp to verify that Sabre had joined their side, and then began to prepare for war by amassing an army of Twisted. Sabre and Twisted Rainbow met again on the front lines, and he taunted Sabre for his fear, cowardice and dependence on others. Sabre ran off, and the two factions prepared for battle.
However, the battle was disrupted after Sabre had unlocked supernatural powers with the help of The First Curse. He threw Elite Dark Guard into the sky twice, and the armies of Darkness and Twisted were destroyed by the creation of two large clocks. Sabre used force to strangle Twisted Rainbow, who was getting fearful of his sudden gain of power in a short space of time. M was spared and ran off, leaving Twisted Rainbow to fend for himself.
Sabre teleported himself and Twisted Rainbow back to the destroyed Rainbow Hub. The First Curse told Sabre that Twisted Rainbow needed to use the sword to open a gateway outside of their universe, and allow Sabre to leave. Twisted Rainbow was forced to oblige. Sabre, having no other use for him, prepared to kill him as revenge for ruining the world, but Twisted Rainbow was able to escape at the last moment.
Aftermath[]
Twisted Rainbow lives in fear of Sabre's power, having a Twisted by his side at all times to protect himself. He briefly runs into Elite who is on his way to regain his power and take on Sabre. He even fears Elite and believes that he is on Sabre's side. The two argue on whose fault it was for how things ended up, but Elite scoffs him off and heads on his way. Twisted Rainbow yells back, proclaiming that he would be defeated and saying that he wouldn't help him if he failed. Elite attacks him, and he runs away.
Twisted Rainbow hides in a cave, scared that Sabre could come back and kill him at any given moment. Instead, he is visited by the new universe's version of Hypno Steve. Hypno claims that Twisted is "compatible" with him, and that he could help him put a stop to the multiverse. Hypno states that he is cursed with knowledge, being aware of the multiverse, his original self and the fact that the world's history and everyone's memories of it prior to Sabre's arrival were all fabricated. Twisted, not understanding, believes he's losing his mind. Hypno goes ahead with his plan, forcefully fusing with Twisted.
Despite now becoming one being, the two consciousnesses remained separate. Twisted could see things from Hypno's perspective and understand him, agreeing to help him with his plan to stop Sabre. They need to keep him alive, since killing him would destroy the universe and kill everyone else. Hypno suggests weakening Sabre and trapping him. Twisted agrees but then brings up his back-up plan involving Assistant. Since he technically no longer exists physically, Assistant would consider Twisted "deceased" and go through with his commands. Hypno decides to take matters into his own hands and plans on stopping Assistant Steve before he can go through with the contingency plan.
The Crossroads[]
Twisted Hypno feels Sabre's return and that he is at the Rainbow Hub. With the Rainbow Hub's defense system still working, the two decide to face him at the Rainbow Hub and trap him there once he is weakened. They wield a duplication of Sabre's sword made when Rainbow still had the original. The fusion meets Sabre and they do battle. Sabre uses his understanding of Twisted to taunt him. With Twisted's hubris throwing them off balance, Sabre is able to get the upper hand by teleporting behind and impaling the fusion in the back. Wondering about Twisted's origins, Sabre uses his powers to see into the fusion's shared memories. Sabre absorbs the powers from Twisted and Hypno, separating them in the process. Shortly after, Assistant Steve breaks into the Rainbow Hub, and shoots Sabre with a laser. He is ordered by Twisted to stop Sabre. Assistant Steve begins to use the power of the Core, preparing to kill Sabre. Realizing that the paradox will unravel, Twisted tries to stop him, but Assistant doesn't hear and fires the laser.
Sabre deflects the beam with ease. Having seen into Twisted's mind, Sabre is aware of the Assistant and Professor Red's past. He takes pity on him, suggesting he leave. Twisted uses the last of his strength to activate Assistant's final command, as Sabre flings him and Hypno Steve out of the Rainbow Hub. Too weak to do anything else, the duo lie on the ground as Sabre unlocks his full power and absorbs the universe, dying along with everyone else.
