Tybalt Capulet is the secondary antagonist of the 2021 theatrical production, Romeo and Juliet but without any rehearsals, a farcical adaptation of the iconic play with the same name.

He is a member of the Capulet House, Juliet’s short-tempered cousin and the arch-nemesis of Romeo and his best friend, Mercutio, as well as the latter’s killer.

He is portrayed by Cristina Vee, who also played Elsa Granhiert in the English dub of Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World, Marinette Dupain-Cheng in the English dub of Miraculous Ladybug and Verosika Mayday in Helluva Boss.

Biography

Tybalt is first seen fighting in a battle against Mercutio and Benvolio alongside his henchmen, Gregory and Sampson. Prince Escolus suddenly appears and tells all involved in the fight to stop fighting. Afterwards, Romeo makes his grand entrance by killing one of Tybalt’s minions (it’s unknown whether it is Gregory or Sampson due to the duo’s lack of distinction), much to Tybalt’s joy and delight. He gives Romeo a high-five due to this, but later takes it back thanks to either Romeo’s arrogance or Tybalt’s hatred of Romeo.

Tybalt doesn’t appear again until the party hosted by Lord Capulet. He recognises Romeo and tells Capulet that he has infiltrated the party, to which he replies that House Montague sounds fake to him. Romeo then flirts with Juliet, much to Tybalt’s dismay. Lord Capulet then tells Tybalt to calm down, but Tybalt ignores his request and attempts to stop their romance from blooming by separating them. Luckily, Lord Capulet pushes him away, and they both leave the party. During this, Tybalt vows revenge on Romeo.
