Tyrant (labeled The Chimera Beast) is the main antagonist of the Matt Say Yay series.
He is an extremely powerful chimera kaiju who enjoys eating the souls of others. He is the leader of the Multi-Minuses, his own group of villains, who usually like to kill or inconvenience the heroes. He is the central antagonist of cancelled UltraZilla, the main anti-villainous antagonist of Ultra Shorts, and a villainous protagonist in Kaiju Gaming.
Like most of the cast, he was voiced by the titular creator, Matt Say Yay.
Personality[]
Being a monster housing seven souls, some not even agreeing with each other, Tyrant is an unstable kaiju. He can find himself going from not willing to kill to suddenly breaking all rules and taking lives. However, depending on who is in control, Tyrant can actually also be on the good side, however, because only one component is actually good, being Baraba, Tyrant never actually fully stops himself.
Despite this, Tyrant does have respect, specifically towards his fellow villains, such as Light Yagami or Gymaira Von Ketsu. He also apparently has some knowledge about the humans, as he tells Gymaira that humans like to eat chips with ice cream more than he thought. Whenever Tyrant is thinking more clearly, he is shown to be able to manipulate others, such as how he killed Emily Black by befriending her (though this was likely just Baraba's doing before the other souls took over) and how he convinced Light to continue killing in spite of how meaningless it seemed.
Beyond the fourth wall, like the rest of the cast, Tyrant cares about the well-being of the channel, and would go and try to find ways to fix it. However, these actions would lead him to meet Neopolitan, who he managed to convince to join his team.
Overall, Tyrant loves killing, and the inevitable revival of the characters only fuels his uncontrollable bloodlust, since it denotes the long term consequences of death, but not the satisfaction for him.
Role in Matt Say Yay[]
Tyrant, while not as threatening as he seems, still plays his role as the big bad. He is the leader of the Multi-Minuses and usually speaks with his fellow members. He takes a lot of delight in killing, which is especially shown in his let's play of Among Us. When he is shown hanging out with his subjects, he is rather casual, relaxed, and caring, but also a bit cynical. Despite this behavior, most of the heroes dare not interact with him or his friends.
He was also the central antagonist of UltraZilla before its cancellation. In UltraZilla, Tyrant killed Aribunta and was described as a mysterious being who goes around the galaxy attacking and killing everyone he sees. However, it is revealed that Aribunta's mother, Baraba (who was a victim of Tyrant herself) was part of Tyrant, so she and Aribunta control Tyrant from within to keep him on the good side, only to face a supposedly greater threat that he ironically caused.
Tyrant is also revealed to be responsible for the creation of Nova, who was once known as Emily Black. One Halloween night, Tyrant had encountered a lonely and orphaned 10 year old Emily, who befriended him, relating to how they both lacked friends (it's implied that Baraba was taking control). Emily, under the impression that Tyrant was a man in a costume, went trick-or-treating with him. However, at some point in the night, Tyrant's true personality took hold, and he hanged her on a tree, where a Teru Teru Bozu doll also hanged. As Tyrant flew away, the doll merged with Emily's soul, transforming her into the vengeful spirit, Nova, who would do anything to get revenge on Tyrant, even if it involved controlling all of Kai-Land.

- Because Tyrant's components consist of at least one or two females, he is really fine with any pronouns, but he/him pronouns are his primary ones.
- Tyrant has strangely alternated from referring to himself as "we" to note the multiple souls that consists him.
- In png videos starting with "Light's Chips," Tyrant's voice has an effect. This effect is the Space Mutant effect from the Voice Changer with Effects app.
- In "When Tyrant met Neo," to be consistent with this, Tyrant's voice is not edited in the past flashbacks, but edited in the present.
- Tyrant's voice was initially based on Springtrap and Nightmare's voices by EthGoesBOOM.
- Tyrant's figurine was customized from his debut. His arms were colored a metallic purple to reflect on Baraba, his horns are colored a more saturated blue, his back spots are colored pink, and his mace and axe are colored silver with blue.
- Since his debut, Tyrant's legs were customized too, as they were colored gold to look more accurate and his eyes are colored orange and red.
- In "UltraZilla Episode 2," Tyrant was seen killing Roberuga and an Inpelaizer, two characters who would later be a part of his team. It's possible this event was retconned out of existence, or it was a different Roberuga and Inpelaizer.
