Ultimate Protobot 10000, or simply Protobot, is the main antagonist of the Club Penguin web series Penguinronpa. He's a robot who seeks to become the most powerful life form. Throughout most of the series, Protobot hosts a game where penguins are forced to kill each other to get to the new world while posing as a robotic clone of Herbert P. Bear known as Monobert.
Appearance[]
Like in canon, Protobot is a giant robot created from items that were stolen by Test Bots across the Club Penguin Island. His body consists of a ticket booth being attached to a minecart and speakers. The speakers are attached to the inner tubes which are also attached to a boiler and a red tube. The boiler and the tube make up Protobot's left and right arms respectively and are attached to cranes. Protobot's head resembles that of a penguin, with a metal beak, yellow eyes and an orange glass dome on top of his head. Protobot's eyes would often turn red when he gets angry with smoke coming out of him and they would widen when he gets particularly expressive.
As Monobert, being a clone of Herbert P. Bear Esquire, he resembles a large anthropomorhic polar bear. His fur is divided into white and black for the left and right side of his body respectively. The only parts of his body that aren't affected by the division are his dark blue muzzle and his large white stomach with a large belly button that can be opened to see his mechanical insides. His right eye is completely red and is shaped like a scar.

Protobot is a vile, power hungry robot, wanting to become the most powerful entity to ever exist. He has no regards for things such as emotions and love, seeing them as limit to one's true potential. Protobot takes joy in bringing despair to others, to the point they either go insane and kill or lose all hope to escape the killing game.
An egotist, Protobot views himself as the only being in the world that matters, being willing to eradicate anyone who dares stand in his way. Although he works for his higher-ups, Protobot is only doing it to get the power he wants. He has no respect for his minions, Test Bots, either. When they rebuild him, Protobot "rewards" them by destroying their bodies.
As the series goes on, Protobot becomes more and more impatient with the killing game, to the point he tried to kill all of the survivors in the fifth trial after the execution just so he could finish the game and get the power he desperately wants. He also proves himself to be a hypocrite as he cut off his deal with Agent to expose his secret once they solve the fifth case incorrectly, despite him cheating by purposefully voting for the wrong killer.
Despite his great power, Protobot has one flaw: His A.I. can't respond to things he wasn't expecting, hence he was defeated so easily by the Elite Puffles and was unable to shoot lasers at Test Bots protecting the Puffles and penguins.
Victims[]
- Sensei: Executed for being found guilty of Aunt Arctic's murder. Sensei is sent to the Dojo where he's forced to play Card-Jitsu with Monobert. When it looks like Sensei was about to win, all of his cards suddenly get replaced by the ones that simply say "Struggle". This gives Monobert an advantage and starts assaulting Sensei with weapons, finishing him off with a katana.
- Paige: Executed for being found guilty of Rockhopper's murder. She's forced to round up Robopuffles into the pen. When she's done, she feeds one of the Robopuffles with an O-Berries, summoning a giant cannon that sends her fly up into the sky to be rewarded with the Rainbow Puffle. However, it turns out the Rainbow Puffle was a bomb in disguise. When Paige defuses the bomb, the cloud she's standing on disappears, forcing her to feed another Robopuffle with an O-Berry to create a bubble to protect her from falling to her death. When it looks like Paige is safe, the Robopuffles explode, taking her and the bubble with them.
- Rory: Executed for being found guilty of Cadence's murder. He's forced to defuse three minecarts with dynamites under 2 minutes. As he defuses the minecarts, Rory gets attacked by jackhammers and chainsaws. Although he barely succeeded, Rory meets his end when Monobert runs over him with a train.
- Agent: Attempted victim. He tried to execute them for breaking one of the rules by setting them on fire with a flamethrower. However, Agent survived thanks to the Elite Puffles coming in to save them.
- Test Bots: Crushed them with a box filled with spikes. However, the Bots later reactivated to protect the surviving penguins and Elite Puffles from being killed by Protobot.
- The surviving penguins and the Elite Puffles: Attempted victims. After Protobot had purposefully voted for the wrong killer because they refused to vote, he tries to execute them all by pushing a large building at them while they're chained. However, the penguins and Puffles survived thanks to Sam interfering with the execution. Protobot tries to kill them again after Shadow Guy hijacked the execution, only to be stopped by the now-redeemed Test Bots.
- Shadow Guy: Erased from existence when he interfered with the surviving penguins and Elite Puffles' execution to save them.

- Protobot (as Monobert) references Aunt Arctic's speech from the "Operation Blackout" party when confronting Agent in their nightmare during chapter 4.
- There are two pop culture references in chapter 5's execution:
- Shadow Guy throwing Protobot into a building is similar to how Mario defeats Bowser in Super Mario 64.
- Shadow Guy approaching Protobot is a direct reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.
- In chapter 5, Protobot references Plankton in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie after the execution.
- The tune Protobot plays to put Rookie to sleep, "Beep Beep Sleep", is a remix of "Night Night Tune" from chapter 2.
- Ironically, they both use the Elite Penguin Force leitmotif, as do most of the original tracks in the series.
