Ultra Magnus is the main antagonist of the Transformers Animated fanfiction, Going Insane, made by Tigressa101.
He is the leader of the Autobots who rule Cybertron as speculated for peace and safety. In truth, however, is that he was forced to discriminate against non-Autobot indiviudals including the Decepticons and their actions led to the Great War and eventually his near-death experience by Shockwave. He then loses his sanity to become the tyrannical leader of Cybertron.
Biography[]
Past[]
During his days of Magnus, he originally thought of the originality for equality for all Cybertronians no matter what race they all are. However, he was unfortunately manipulated by the Council to be naive and had him be more reliant on the Autobot race rather other races of Cybertronians who are neutral or opposition to. This result into a brutal eight-million year war between Autobots and Decepticons due to their oppression and then was forced to sign the Omega Sentinel Project to create the Omega Sentinels to use as weapons of mass destruction against the Decepticon forces.
Because of his ego influence by the Autobot Councilors, he signed the Decepticon Registration Act that had the Decepticons exiled from Cybertron then commence an operation as commander of the Autobot Elite Guard to apprehand any Decepticon refugees in the galaxy, having Wasp accused as a Decepticon spy by Shockwave and stripped Optimus from his membership of the Autobot Academy before giving him the rank of Prime because he knew there is potential in him. After learning of the Allspark, he suggest that Optimus to hold it much longer until he arrives before telling him to no be a hero which he deems never in his orogramming. He arrived too late however as the AllSpark send the Autobots and Megatron to Earth. 50 years later, he and the Elite Guard manage to locate the AllSpark and eventually arrived to regroup with Optimus where they learn about the AllSpark being dispersed and the Decepticons present on Earth during their investigation. Since then, Ultra Magnus entrusted Optimus on the mission and gave him stasis cuff to apprehand any Decepticon searching any AllSpark fragment to warp to Cybertron.
Hearing rumors about a Decepticon spy on Wasp, Shockwave as the Autobot Longarm takes advsntage to put the blame on Wasp as he and the Elite Guard track him down. Because of the events of Megatron being unable to relocate to Cybertron and the fact Starscream takes control of Omega Supreme before also losing control from the unstable Spacebridge drive, Shockwave is forced to pull an assassination attempt on Ultra Magnus, leaving him wounded with Stormbringer stolen from him and giving Sentinel the advantage to usurp the leadership as acting-magnus, turning Cybertron unto a dictatorship planet. While under supervision from Ratchet to heal his wounds, he would descent to insanity after his realization of the High Council's only focused on the Autobots and showing no equality to neutrals or any other, driving him to madness in a desperate measure to start a new change of Cybertron in his deluded image once he recovered from his wounds.
Going Insane[]
As he is being recovered from his wounds, he asked Ratchet what happened after his attempted assassination and Ratchet explained everything what happened while he was recovering with a mention of Sentinel's involvement as acting-magnus. Each time Ultra Magnus heard Sentinel's name, he shows much frustration of his henious actions on Cybertron. After being told that Optimus would be inducted to Magnus, Ultra Magnus showed disbelief and questioned the reason for this before acknowledged that his time of being Magnus would only end when he dies and planned to retake his leadership even if Optimus is worthy a Magnus. Ratchet attempts to fully explain that he no longer has position, but Ultra Magnus knew about what he said interrupting him and vowed to make changes after what the council has done to him and Cybertron to announce his plan of unifying all Cybertronians with Ratchet reluctantly agreeing with him.
He would meet up at the Council Chambers where he observes Sentinel trying to undermine the progress of Optimus being a worthy Magnus while showing his level of selfish behavior towards Optimus and even Bumblebee before asking who was the one who entrusted him to keep the AllSpark safe. Ultra Magnus answers by saying it was him much to everyone's suprise and acknowledges the brave work Optimus and his team did on Earth. He then declares to have return for leadership as his title remains a Magnus and for a new age of Cybertronians. When Sentinel begins bragging his rant on Optimus, Ultra would be simply annoyed by first much to the suspicion for everyone including Optimus. When Sentinel continued his rant, this infuriates Ultra to having a psychotic fit of rage and prepares to execute Sentinel. Optimus realizes this and attempts to stop him but Ultra, though barely, avoids hitting him and uses Stormbringer to strike at the wall where Sentinel dodges and attempts to escape him. Ultra chases after the now terrified Sentinel all over the chamber leaving a chaotic trail of destruction behind.
He eventually hit Sentinel in the backhand and prepared to begin the final blow. Optimus, despite his differences with Sentinel, plead for him to stop, telling him that this is not how to solve things and that Sentinel has to stand for trial instead of execution while trying to prove that they can fix. But Ultra, showing that he is no longer influenced by the council and experienced everything that happen when he was a pawn, wasn't convinced by his words and kills Sentinel. After murdering Sentinel, Ultra declares a new monarchy of all Cybertronians while exposing the council's actions and the causes that effect them before announces for all Cybertronians to unify into a powerful empire to pledge to no one except only him as the Magnus. Optimus and Bumblebee were two of the only few Cybertronians who disagree with Ultra's vision while the rest of the Cybertronians including Ratchet agree with him. He then declared his loyal followers to rise up as the civilians, including the soldiers, apprehand the council including Alpha Trion. Realizing what Ultra has become, Optimus attempt to pull one final move to stop him. Ultra Magnus, who now feels betrayed, finishes him off and presumbably kills off Bumblebee as well.
Following his rise of power, he would wage war against the few who disagree with him to hunt them down.
