Lord Hansel

WE ALL HATE HANSEΓ!!!

Alright, everyone. Guess I'll be proposing a character from a fan work of FPE, the Edgyverse. Doing a little research, I think he qualifies as a Complete Monster. Pretty much, we got ourselves our very first FPE Complete Monster.

Also, this is only for his FPE counterpart, as his PPF counterpart has not done anything villainous as of now, though there is going to be a remake of the Hansel and Gretel comic, so I can see where that counterpart would go.

What's the Work?[]

The Edgyverse is a universe by The Edgyverse (yes you read that right) which features her OCs just, going through some things, I guess. We're specifically talking about the FPE comic strips which are a series of comic strips on X based on the now cancelled FPE made when Edgyaludon was still in the fandom. The comic strips are all deleted due to her leaving said fandom as well as her deleting her X account.

If you couldn't tell, this is basically copied from Mister Shapley's IH proposal, but I wrote it, so, it's fine.

There's also a comic named Hansel and Gretel also on X revolving around Hansel and Gretel in a forest which got cancelled and deleted since well, she left the fandom, there are also a Basics in Behavior: Advanced Class YouTube video which is based on the now-privated Basics in Behavior video which is just that but with her OCs, and there's also an Aftermath in Behavior YouTube video (there's no exact reupload but there's some versions of it edited by other people and there's lore videos about it) which is an aftermath to that, both of which are privated since, she left the fandom. I didn't include any of this in Mister Shapley's IH proposal because he literally does nothing in those works especially Hansel and Gretel where he doesn't even appear at all.

Btw, all of this is from Mister Barrel's IA proposal (though technically this was written first) but I wrote it so no plagiarism.

Who is He? What Has He Done?[]

Lord HanseΓ is the main antagonist of the universe. Let's take a look at his rap sheet for a second.

First off, it's heavily implied he killed all signs of life in a forest considering Gretel said there's none of that and the ones that are alive were dead and were brutally killed. Then, when Gretel feels like he wants to die, HanseΓ literally threatens him which causes Gretel to not want to do so. Gretel then ends up getting kidnapped and straight up tortured by his bullies as they literally rip his wings apart. It was then revealed HanseΓ was behind all this as he wants Gretel to feel lonely so that he would come to him. Gretel then goes insane and kills HanseΓ and then he proceeds to kill his bullies until HanseΓ is revealed to be alive and burns down the forest. Gretel then leaves while being absolutely traumatized.

HanseΓ would then be hidden away in a room at Paper School, for some reason. But then, when Margret was being chased by her teachers, she enters HanseΓ's room mistaking it to be a safe place. However, it wasn't a safe place as HanseΓ notices and tries to kill her before she's protected by Gretel, now known as Mister Barrel. HanseΓ then goes into his true form which creates spikes in Paper School killing Muro and Akatsuki. Unfortunately, HanseΓ was successful as he kills Margret while Mister Barrel notices her body while being absolutely traumatized, again.

Later, ∆lice enters HanseΓ's room and literally tackles him. She tells him to get out, but he tells her he can't since his "best friend" is inside the school. She then tells him to fuck off before he tells her there's already the landlord here.

Heinous Standards?[]

I think he passes it with his personal villainy towards Mister Barrel as he psychologically tormented him, literally getting him tortured making him go insane and him to shoot him and his bullies as well as burning down the forest putting him to a mental hospital which there Gretel refuses to talk, is always lying down weakly and doesn't eat properly and he always calls other doctors or security guards saying HanseΓ is in his room even though he's just hallucinating. There's also when he brutally murders Margret Sterling while leaving his corpse for him to see while writing "SEE YA, GRETEL" on the wall with her blood.

Really the only other villain I need to talk about is Mister Shapley who devoured literal universes, but that is an obvious unfair comparison, he's a literal cosmic being while HanseΓ isn't that. Even if he's powerful on his own, in no way can he eat literal universes, not to mention the personal villainy he has which, also makes him stand out.

Mitigating Factors?[]

Ok, it's no secret he does seem to have some mitigating factors and I'm going to address all of them here.

  • "Tragedy?"

This is basically the easiest one to address. While his parents died at the age of 15 causing him to live alone, it's not really made clear if his life got bad because of it, he doesn't seem to be motivated by this, literally none of his victims have anything to do with his tragedy, there's no proof he cares about his parents, and this isn't given any amount of sympathy. Even with all of that out of the way, this isn't really cleared up upon if this even happened like, at all, and this is also not brought up like, at all.

There's also a comic where he is seen injured with BELI∀L Ignis being behind him acting all sadistic, which may hint some type of tragedy. However, this also isn't really cleared up that much and he also doesn't seem to be motivated by this, not to mention this is the only time this was brought up.

  • "Friendship with Gretel?"

Sure, he can be a good friend to him as he liked playing with him and always healed him when he got hurt and even sat on a hill next to a carving of him. However, this is a mere obsession more than anything. He has done pretty horrible things to him just to make him stay friendswith him such as angrily yelling at him at him when he says he wants to die as well as literally getting him tortured by his bullies just so that he would come to him. There are also the things he has done that don't really relate to this, such as burning down the forest causing him to be put to a mental hospital where he would call people for help due to hallucinating him (the hallucination thing isn't really a thing he's aware of but still) and also the fact that he killed Margret Sterling while literally leaving his corpse for him to see while he wrote "SEE YA GRETEL" with her blood on the wall.

  • "Comedy?"

While he sure is pretty comedic, such as being depicted as gay multiple times, pausing a Barrelkiss image, being depicted as bald sometimes while at one time calling someone bald when being bald himself at the time, and maybe some more, he's still taken seriously in-universe and none of his crimes are played for laughs. He's only comedic when he's not committing his crimes and is completely serious when he is.

This is shown when he yells at Gretel due to him telling him he wants to die and when he gets Gretel horrifically tortured by his bullies as they rip his wings apart and Gretel is absolutely crying and begging to stop, and when he's revealed to be the one behind all this, he's taken very seriously as a threat and Gretel begins to go insane as he shoots him and his bullies, and then HanseΓ is later revealed to be alive, and he begins burning down the forest with Gretel having to run away which as a result, Gretel now has trauma and needs to go to a mental hospital which he's afraid of HanseΓ due to what he's done and always hallucinates him to the point he repeatedly calls for help even though there's no real danger and then he meets Count Nihil who tries to help him and he tells him more about Lord HanseΓ and even calls him "the monster" at one point.

There's also in the Basics in Behavior: Advanced Class video where he's seen chasing Margret but Gretel, now known as Mister Barrel, has to protect her and run away from him to save her. HanseΓ then enters his true form and releases spikes, stabbing Muro and Akatsuki. Mister Barrel is unfortunately unsuccessful at saving Margret and HanseΓ finishes her off while putting her corpse for Mister Barrel to see while writing "SEE YA, GRETEL" on the wall with her blood, leaving him absolutely traumatized.

I'll also get an extremely minor thing out of the way because, why not? While the Hansel and Gretel comic does have grammatical errors, none of them are intentional since English is the creator's second language. I know this isn't really important, but I'll just address this because I can.

Overall, while he does have a fair share of comedic moments, the horror and threat he represents in-universe is entirely played straight with zero comedy in nor related with them whatsoever.

Verdict?[]

I'd give up a simple yes for him in my opinion.
