Big dandy lol

It's all your fault...

It's been a while ever since I made a PE/CM proposal. This candidate may come as a surprise for some of you since its a fanon based on a mascot-horror Roblox game. So let's not waste any time with these long interludes and get on with the show!

What's the Work?[]

Dandy’s World: Bake Night Terror is a fan-game created by itch.io user Fuziyama, that's based off the controversial Roblox horror-game, Dandy's World by BlushCrunch Studio, which is led by Roblox user, Qwelver.

In the fan-game, you play as Cosmo, a Toon whose friends with a Main character Toon named Sprout. You and Sprout are tasked by Dandy with finding and using ingredients to bake a cake to celebrate Gardenview Museum's anniversary. However, not every is as sweet as it seems. For the sake of this proposal, let’s just focus on the events of this fan-game, and ignore the events of the original mainstream game since they aren’t connected.

I recommend watching this video for the full gameplay.

Who is He?[]

Dandicus Dancifer, commonly known as Dandy, is the main antagonist.

He is a lethal rarity Toon who tasks Cosmo and Sprout to bake a cake for the Gardenview museum’s 6th Anniversary. Though later on, it’s revealed that Dandy manipulated Cosmo into using a black substance (Ichor) as an ingredient for the cake, turning Sprout, Astro, and presumably the other Main Toons into Twisteds.

While his original counterpart’s actions are widely vague, this version of Dandy is more sadistic, and manipulative than his original counterpart.

What Has He Done?[]

Dandy walks into the kitchen to ask Cosmo and Sprout about a favor. When the latter two walk to his shop a while later, Dandy asks them to cook a special cake, much to Sprout’s dismay, as he was already preparing a cake with Cosmo earlier. Dandy adds on that the “special” cake is meant to celebrate the Gardenview museum’s 6th Anniversary. When Sprout tells Dandy that the Anniversary doesn’t happen until a week from now, Dandy tells him that his Toon Handler had pushed the celebration a week early, claiming that the shipping for the ingredients was delayed, and would go bad before then (which is later revealed to be a lie). When Sprout frustratingly asks where the ingredients are, Dandy replies that he lost them and that they’re scattered around Gardenview, before kicking the two out of the store and telling them not to come back until they retrieve the ingredients.

After Cosmo and Sprout return to Dandy’s Shop with the ingredients, Sprout asks Dandy about what the Ichor is. Dandy claims that it’s “fruit juice”, which is meant to be for the icing on the cake, claiming that his Toon Handler instructed him to use it as icing to give the cake a sweet touch. Sprout, becoming increasingly suspicious, asks Dandy why the “fruit juice” was kept as a secret, only for Dandy to interrupt him by mentioning that there’s two hours left to finish the cake.

Dandy arrives at the Anniversary celebration late. If Cosmo interacts with him, Dandy states he didn’t eat the cake yet. if Cosmos interacts with Astro, the latter asks Cosmo if he can ask him about something later, only for Dandy to eavesdrop on them until Astro pushes him away.

This is your trauma. This is your fate. Time to make sure you won't get in my way.

After Cosmo escapes a Twisted Astro when the former was woken up by some groaning coming from Sprout, he opens the door to the storage room in the Kitchen and sees that Sprout had become a Twisted. But Dandy walks in on them and jumpscares Cosmo. Dandy reveals that the cake that Cosmo and Sprout bake with the “fruit juice” icing was actually what caused them to become Twisted, and that it’s all Cosmo’s fault for causing it. When Cosmo calls out Dandy for not caring for his friends, the latter arrogantly claims that he does. Then, Dandy walks towards Cosmo with a syringe and ignores the latter’s pleas about why he did all this, before tauntingly stating that in another lifetime, he would’ve listened. The credits reveal that Cosmo was transformed into a Twisted, just like Sprout.

Mitigating Factors?[]

Cosmo: This is outright insane Dandy!! Do you not care about your friends at all??
Dandy: I do.
Cosmo: Then why did you do all of this???
Dandy: … I can’t tell you that.
*Dandy pulls out a syringe* How about you just join Sprout for now~ After all you two always seem like an inseparable duo after all~
Cosmo: Dandy… We can talk about this please don’t do this…
Dandy: Hm… Maybe in another lifetime Cosmo!
Cosmo: Wait.. Please Wait WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT-
~ That's not what "friends" are for.

To summarize it in one word, no. Despite the fact he claims that he claims that he does care for his “friends”, you don’t go turning them into monsters reveling in pain. His affability from earlier on is a facade, since he doesn’t want anyone to know what he does behind the scenes. If he would’ve been affable at some point, he could’ve warned Cosmo about what the Ichor would do, which he doesn’t. Even before his reveal, he was acting like a jerk to Cosmo and Sprout, since he told them to bake the new cake containing the Ichor, despite them already making one earlier, to Sprout’s frustration.

A person who truly cares for their friends, shouldn't be this heartless.

He is implied to have an interaction with his Toon Handler (canonically known as Devan Reed in the original game, though they remained unnamed in the fan-game since that info was not revealed in the original game at the time the fan-game was made) while talking to the duo about how his handler pushed the anniversary early due to the ingredients supposedly going bad before then as a result of shipping delays. However, we never really get to know much about his Handler, since he’s never onscreen, therefore it’s too vague of a relationship to be genuine. Disregarding that, his mention of his Handler was part of his affable facade, meaning that Dandy had lied that his Toon Handler pushed the anniversary forward, and that he doesn’t care for him at all.

He isn’t caring of his fellow Toons either. They were unaware of what he did behind the scenes. And it’s likely that just like with Cosmo, Dandy will target them for interfering.

About his characterization, he is truly a sadist as he taunts Cosmo when he learns about the truth and shows no remorse or patience for sweeping him out of the way. Dandy’s motives for turning the other Toons into Twisteds are unknown, but there’s enough detail to show that he actually bathes in making what he call his “friends’” suffering.

Heinous Standards?[]

Dandy: Oh my did I scare you?
Cosmo: What the hell… What are you doing here Dandy.
Dandy: Oh me? I’m just watching ehehe~
Cosmo: Watching what??? Everyone turned into these horrifying monsters!!
Dandy: Hm how tragic… Ever considered that this is all your fault?
Cosmo: What..?
Dandy: Let me spark up your memory a bit. Remember the cake that you made?
Cosmo: … Don’t tell me…
~ To think of it, Cosmo may be right. But maybe he's guessing too soon.

No competition at all. Yes, Cosmo and Sprout baked the cake that turns Toons into Twisteds, but they didn’t realize that the Ichor in the cake was bad and didn’t intend for the Twisted outbreak to happen. Dandy definitely knows how bad it is, because as stated below, he admits about what the Ichor is and knows how dangerous it is when consumed. Astro was even suspicious about the cake with the Ichor, and while he doesn’t put two-on-two together, it further foreshadows what the substance is intended for. And shortly before Cosmo finds a now Twisted Sprout, Dandy briefly appears behind Cosmo, implying that he was stalking him following his encounter with Twisted Astro, and knew what was going on.

As a result, it’s made clear that Dandy was targeting the Main Toons first with the cake, since Shelly, Vee, Astro, and Sprout are confirmed to have ate it. Dandy even has a syringe with the Ichor in it to inject into Cosmo at the end of the game, to ensure he doesn’t interfere with his plans. The aftermath is even shown in a doodle that appears after the credits, which shows Cosmo next to Sprout, in which the form is turned into a Twisted just like him.

Before I proposed him on here, I was stumped on whether Shelly and Vee were affected by the Ichor as well, since they're not shown to be Twisted onscreen and its unknown what happened to them afterwards. But we do see what the Ichor does to Sprout and Astro, and it's safe to say that Shelly and Vee are also f--ked as well.

Overall, the victims of the Ichor are shown to be suffering. Sprout is a strong example of this, since he’s heard painfully wailing before and after Cosmo finds him in his Twisted state. In Astro’s case, while it’s not as strong, both the latter and Sprout have mutated into some grotesque form as a result of the Ichor. Twisted Astro also looked like he was in pain before he chased Cosmo. I would like to say that being a Twisted condemns you in a FWTD scenario.

Final Verdict?[]

Yes.
