What’s The Work?[]
Despair Island is a horror drama fanfic made by Knives on Fanfiction.net, and it centers around the total drama cast, as they compete in a death game that is being hosted on the black market.
Who’s The Villain?[]
Chris McLean is the main antagonist. He is a maniac in charged of Total Drama. He kidnapped 22 teenagers and hosted the games in which each of the contestants die every episode.
What Makes Him No Longer Count?[]
Well, a few things.
For one, his grandmother: During the cooking challenge and he was presented with gooey cookies, Chris starts tearing up after eating them, stating that it reminded him of his “Mee-Maw’ cooking” which shows that he is nostalgic over his grandmother and her cooking. While it is possible he just likes her cooking, the fact he tears up when being remembered of it and the fact he doesn’t do it towards any other, it seems like this is genuine.
And secondly and more arguably redeemable. He shows some sympathy towards some contestants, the two being DJ and Geoff. During DJ’s elimination, the text explicitly states Chris had a look of sympathy on his face, he decided to kill him painlessly by injecting him with venom and solemnly told the contestants to leave without making any sadistic puns or jokes. And with Geoff, the text also states that Chris looked sympathetic towards Geoff when he was about to kill him, and even gave Geoff some time to say goodbye to Bridgette before trying to execute him.
