What is the work[]

The Dream SMP is a privately hosted Minecraft server created by Dream that has since been the subject of an expanding narrative with many plots and characters

Who is he?[]

Ranbob is the main antagonist of the Tale from The SMP episode The Lost City of Mizu. He has many traits that Ranboo has except for the fact that he is far more heinous and would go on a killing spree, killing every member inside the lost city.

What makes him Pure Evil?[]

  • He manipulates everybody in the lost city into a false sense of security, only so he could kill them (Due to the fact that he was able to act friendly at first, we can assume that he does have an understanding of morality)
  • Unlike other Tales from The SMP villains, Ranbob has very few comedic moments and is taken completely seriously
  • Despite not meeting the heinous standards, this is mainly due to Ranbob not having the resources to commit acts on the same level as Dream, with the resources he does have he would use to kill every member in the lost city without an ounce of remorse

Mitigating factors?[]

None. HIs morality is never implied to be fractured, in fact, he states that dream was ‘Good’, depending who you ask. His loyalty to dream is seemingly for power, and he lacks any care for anyone, or comedy that detracts, or sympathetic moments. Hell, his loyalty to dream kinda makes him worse, due to dream torturing his ancestor, Ranboo, a Near Pure Good. There’s also the fact he doesn’t use the diamond armor sets in his shrine to dream. However, this can be chalked up to him A: Not needing them, and B: Not wanting to defile his gods shrine.

Heinous standard?[]

  • Dream: This isn't really a fair comparison. Dream has the revival book. Something that puts his resources on par with a god.
  • Technoblade: Techno was the one I was a bit more heistant on, but seeing as techno's resources are so much higher than Ranbobs, this allows Ranbob to pass.
  • Punz: Pretty much a bog-standard Sadist Mercenary.
  • Wilbur: Wilbur is a bog-standard terrorist, who's one true evil moment had no gravity.

Overall, Ranbob passes due to his much lower resources (HE LIVES IN A CITY UNDERWATER, HE IS AN ENDERMAN!), and his mass murder plus manipulation, and being nigh-completely seriously taken, especially for being a one-shot villain, never seen past the episode.

Verdict[]

It's a yes, even if a weak one. While Dream is far worse, again, resource difference.
