Villain Overview

Foolish Jedi. I have survived for millennia. Undisturbed, unchallenged. And now, I will show you why.
~ Vitiate before fighting Revan.
An elegant speech, but your words mean nothing. You are a blind insect contemplating the void of space. My ascendance is inevitable. A day, a year, a millennium. It matters not. I hold the patience of stone and the will of stars! Your striving is insignificant. Let your death... be the same!
~ Vitiate threatening Kaizen Drackmoor, before being killed by Bao-Dur.

Darth Vitiate, otherwise known as the Sith Emperor, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Bao-Dur) of DarthYcey and Smash City Studio's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic movie series, and one of the two overarching antagonists, (alongside another version of himself from another alternate universe) of the 2025 multiversal crossover film Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: Convergence.

He was an evil Dark Lord of the Sith who ruled an ancient Sith Empire who sought to destroy the entire galaxy to make himself immortal and all-powerful. He orchestrated the Mandalorian Wars and planned to invade the Galactic Republic, coming into conflict with Revan. He is one of Logan Starr's arch-enemies, alongside Darth Malak.

He was voiced by Josh Breeding.

Biography[]

Rise to Power[]

Vitiate was human male born on the planet Nathema. Not much is known on how he rose to power, but what is known is that eventually he used the Dark Side of the Force to consume his homeworld, draining it of the Force and sacrificing the souls of millions to fuel Vitiate, making him immortal. Eventually, Vitiate gathered many human Sith Lords to create his own Sith Empire, becoming Sith Emperor. Vitiate was unaware, however, that the surviving Sith Purebloods of the original Sith Empire survived, forming their own secret cult in the Unknown Regions. Vitiate formed the Dark Council, a group of twelve Sith Lords who govern the empire under Vitiate`s authority. For millennia, Vitiate and his empire remained in the shadows, while the republic and Jedi were focused on fighting other Sith Empires, such as Freedon Nadd and Exar Kun`s Sith empires.

Starting Wars[]

Eventually, Vitiate corrupted and manipulated the leader of the Mandalorians, Mandalore the Ultimate, into waging war against the Republic and Jedi. Under Vitiate`s spell, Mandalore the Ultimate led his Mandalorians into fighting the Republic and the Jedi, all the while destroying their worlds, such as massacring the Zabraks. Mandalore and his followers were eventually defeated, but Jedi war hero Revan, and his friend Malak, investigated into what caused the Mandalorians into fighting the republic and Empire. They eventually settled on the planet Dromund Kaas, the homeworld of Vitiate`s empire. At some point, Revan and Malak turned to the Dark Side and served the Emperor. Vitiate tasked the two into finding the Star Forge, but the two broke free from his will and formed their own Sith Empire, fighting the Republic and Jedi. Vitiate thought they had simply failed, however, and continued with his original plan of slowly building his empire so that he could strike the Republic. Vitiate was unaware however, of all the events happening, as he was busy taking down traitorous council member Darth Xedrix, who sought to overthrow him.. A Sith Lord named Lord Scourge, however, defeated Xedrix. Vitiate did not know that Revan was eventually betrayed by Malak, and that Malak took over the empire. Revan was stripped of his memories, eventually recovered them, but chose to remain in the light. Revan killed Malak and destroyed the Star Forge.

Revan`s former Sith Empire crumbled, however, three Sith Lords, Darth Traya, Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus, rose to power. They formed the Sith Triumvirate. Nihilus and Sion overthrew Traya, and exiled her, and they separated their Sith empires from one another. Nihilus`s empire somehow managed to work with the True Sith, but Nihilus was destroyed and his empire fell. Sion and his empire fell as well, along with Traya, who returned to claim her title as a Sith Lord. The Sith triumvirate was destroyed by a Jedi Exile named Meetra Surik. Revan, meanwhile, went to Dromund Kaas to finish off Vitiate, but was captured by Dark Council member Darth Nyriss, who held him hostage, unknown to the Emperor.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Knights and Darkness Part II[]

Vitiate is first seen when Lord Scourge demands a meeting with the him. Vitiate`s captain of the guard Yarri permits Scourge to speak with the Emperor. Once arriving at the throne room, Scourge kneels before Vitiate, in which he tells him to rise. Scourge revealed to Vitiate that Darth Nyriss and a few other members of the Dark Council sacrificed Darth Xedrix to cover up their plan to overthrow him.

Vitiate took this information, and ordered captain Yarri and the Imperial Guard to destroy Nyriss and the rest of the Dark Council, even ones that didn`t participate in the overthrow of the Emperor, since he wanted to show his empire that people will suffer the consequences if they dare try to overthrow him. The Emperor did not know, however, that Revan escaped, and that Lord Scourge and the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik plot to overthrow him. Before they went to destroy the Emperor however, Meetra Surik had a vision of the future through the Force. In the vision, Revan, Scourge and Meetra defeated Yarri and the rest of the Imperial guard, and Revan charged towards Emperor Vitiate. But Vitiate made a Force shield that blasted Revan back, and the fight continued. Vitiate eventually had Revan caught in his Force powers, but faithful droid of Revan, T3, came and spread fire on Vitiate.

The emperor protected himself through the dark Side form getting incinerated, and blasted t3 to smithereens. Revan broke free of the force powers that bound him, and continued to fight him. Vitiate Force choked Revan though, and held him up in the air, grabbing Revan`s lightsaber, Vitiate attempted to strike him down, but Meetra Surik came and defended Revan. Vitiate realized that Scourge betrayed him and is on their side, and decide to kill them all. Scourge betrayed his allies, by stabbing Meetra in the back, killing her. Revan was wounded by Vitiate, and the emperor asked Scourge what he was up to. Scourge explained that he lured them to the citadel so that Vitiate could finish them off, proving Scourge`s loyalty to Vitiate. Vitiate tested Scourge, asking him to strike down Revan. Scourge was about to strike Revan, but Vitiate told him to stop, saying that Revan might be of more use to him, and promised Scourge by promising to grant him immortality. Before Scourge exited, Vitiate asked Scourge why he killed Captain Yarri if he was loyal to the empire. Scourge signaled to Sith lords to appear behind Vitiate, Vitiate easily force choked them, and used all of his power to concentrate on killing the two. This left vitiate vulnerable to something behind him, and when Scourge had his chance, he struck Vitiate.

Mortally wounded, all the power was draining from the Emperor. Scourge said to vitiate he knows who he is, and knows who he is not. Angered, the Emperor, attempted to strike against Scourge, but, since he was wounded and weakened, Scourge was able to Force choke the Emperor. Scourge revealed to Vitiate that he was the descendant of Naga Sadow and the leader of the True Sith. Scourge struck Vitiate down, and killed Revan, and walked away. The vision ended, and Meetra realized it was but a vision of the future. To prevent this from happening, Meetra stabbed Scourge in the back, killing him, and escaped Dromund Kaas with Revan to the Republic. Thus, the future was changed, and the True Sith, now under the lead of Scourge`s apprentice, Bao-Dur, had to find a way to take down Vitiate, they did, and were prepared.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic III: Shadow of the Sith[]

Bacari, a Zabrak who was a slave to Darth Nyriss, tried to escape Dromund Kaas following Nyriss`s destruction, but he got captured. Bacari was taken to the Emperor, who tortured the Zabraks with Force lightning, asking him were the Jedi that Nyriss had hidden from Vitiate were, as Yarri informed him of this. Bacari said that Revan escaped with the help of a slave women and Lord Scourge. Vitiate expressed surprised that Scourge betrayed him, before letting Bacari go. Yarri arrived and kneeled before Vitiate. She informed him that Revan escaped with a female Jedi, Meetra Surik, and also revealed to the Emperor that Scourge was dead, stabbed in the back by a lightsaber. The Emperor announced that his time for the invasion of the Republic had come. However, a mysterious Sith pureblood entered the throne room. He revealed that he is the descendant of Naga Sadow and a member of the True Sith, a empire of Sith purebloods that survived the massacre of the jedi, Republic, and Vitiate. He revealed his name to be Kaizen Drackmoor. The Emperor stated that Kaizen is a blind insect, and that he has know idea of his power. Vitiate blasted Force lightning and started a ritual, monologuing that he has lived for a thousand years and that nothing can stop him. Vitiate focused all of his intention and power on Kaizen and his followers, leaving him vulnerable. Vitiate got stabbed in the back, by Bao-Dur.

He wears a traditional dark robes of a Sith Lord, and has an armor plate on his left shoulder, though sometimes he can have a armor plate on both shoulders.

Personality[]

Vitiate torturing Bacari

Vitiate enjoys in the suffering of others, such as when he was torturing Bacari.

Vitiate is an arrogant, cruel and merciless Sith Lord. He shows no regret for destroying his homeworld. He also has no care for other people`s lives, as Revan stated "A thousand lives mean nothing to him." He is very cruel, as shown having sadistic delight in torturing the Zabrak Bacari.
