Tenebrae, otherwise known as Vitiate, the Sith Emperor, or simply the Emperor, is the main antagonist of the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic fan film Revan, by Youtuber CMMachinima. He is an evil Sith Lord that seeks to destroy all life as he pleases, just to gain immortality.  He was voiced by YouTuber Starika. 
Biography[]
Early life[]
Tenebrae was a Sith Pureblood, born on the planet Medriass with eyes as black as the void of space, born from a farmer woman. Tenebrae manifested powerful Force abilities, and, at the age of six, Tenebrae's mother confessed to her husband that he was born from her infidelity with the Sith ruler of their homeworld, Lord Dramath. Enraged, Tenebrae`s revealed to be stepfather attacked his wife, only for Tenebrae to intervene and snap his stepfather`s neck, killing him instantly. Tenebrae then slowly tortured his mother to death after a few months, and made villagers bow down before him. When he was ten, his illegitimate biological father, Lord Dramath, requested that Tenebrae be brought before him. Tenebrae killed his father, but not before revealing that he was his son. Dramath`s son and Tenebrae`s illegitimate half-brother, Dramath the Second, went into hiding and eventually settled and died on a planet. At age 13, Tenebrae was brought before Marka Ragnos, and Marka Ragnos tested Tenebrae by making other Sith Lords combat him. Tenebrae killed them all and demonstrated his power. Marka Ragnos , impressed by Tenebrae`s abilities, officially recognized him as ruler of his homeworld Medriass, and renamed him Lord Vitiate. Vitiate renamed his homeworld Nathema, and ruled it for over a hundred years. The emperor created the Dark Council, a group of twelve Sith Lords who run the Empire under his command.
Taking the Sith throne[]
When Vitiate was 113 years old, Marka Ragnos died, but Vitiate chose not to intervene with the power struggle between Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos. Instead, he patiently waited. After both Sith Lords were defeated in the Great Hyperspace War, Vitiate finally made his move. Threatening to the remaining Sith that they would all die unless they intervene, Vitiate gathered as many Sith Lords as possible on Nathema, and did a Dark Side ritual that drained the Force from the planet, killing everyone, and giving Vitiate immortality. Now extremely powerful in the Dark Side of the Force, Vitiate ceased to be called "Vitiate", and was simply called the "Sith Emperor." Declaring himself Emperor of the Sith, the Emperor formed a new Sith Empire out of the ashes of the old, and after thirty years, found the ancient Sith world of Dromund Kaas. For over a thousand years, the Emperor remained in the shadows, waiting for the time to strike.
Attacking the Republic through Mandalorians[]
The Sith Emperor used the Dark Side of the Force to control Mandalore the Ultimate, leader of the Mandalorians. Using them as tools to test the Republics strength. Mandalore was defeated, but before he died, he told the Jedi war hero Revan of the one who controlled him. Revan and his friend Malak eventually settled on Dromund Kaas, and tried to confront the Emperor, but were defeated, bound to his will, and consumed by the Dark Side. Now dubbed Darth Revan and Darth Malak, The emperor tasked the two into finding the Star Forge, an ancient Rakatan superweapon that can supply unlimited amounts of starships and armies. Revan and Malak recovered the Star Forge, but they were freed from the Emperor`s control, yet remained in the Dark Side. Revan and Malak betrayed the Emperor by creating their own Sith Empire, and attacked the Republic. The Emperor, however, assumed they had failed, and reverted back to his original plan. Dark Council member Darth Xedrix conspired to overthrow the Emperor, but a Sith named Lord Scourge, under the service of Dark Council member Darth Nyriss, came and killed Xedrix. Revan, meanwhile, was betrayed by Malak, captured by the Republic and turned to the Light Side. Malak became new ruler of Revan`s empire, but Revan came and killed Malak, destroyed the Star Forge and destroyed his own empire. Revan became a savior for the republic but was plagued with visions of the Emperor. Revan returned to Dromund Kaas to finish him off, but was captured by Lord Scourge and Darth Nyriss. Nyriss and Scourge kept Revan a secret from the Emperor.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: Revan[]
The Emperor first appears when Lord Scourge came for an urgent message. Once arriving in the throne room, Scourge found the Emperor meditating. Scourge informed the Emperor that Xedrix wasn`t the only one to have conspired to overthrow him, but was merely sacrificed by others, so that they could hide their plans of overthrowing the Emperor. When the Emperor asked Scourge who was involved in the plot, Scourge said that Darth Nyriss and a few other members of the Dark Council. The Emperor said that he will reward Scourge but if his information proves to be false, he will suffer a fate more terrifying than anything Scourge could imagine. The Emperor ordered his guards to kill Nyriss and all the other members of the Dark Council, even the ones who were not involved. Scourge and Meetra Surik, an old friend of Revan`s, helped Revan escape as the Imperial guard razed Nyriss`s stronghold. In doing so they killed Nyriss. Revan, Scourge and Surik plot to kill the Emperor so that he could not destroy the galaxy. Eventually, Scourge, Revan, and Meetra confronted the Emperor in the citadel. After along duel, Scourge had a vision of Vitiate meeting his demise at the hands of a Jedi, but that Jedi was not Revan nor Meetra, so, Scourge decided to betray his allies. Scourge killed Meetra, and Vitiate overpowered Revan. Scourge lied to Vitiate that he led Revan and Meetra to him, to prove his loyalty to him once more. The Emperor bound Scourge to his will, and made him immortal, and, for centuries Scourge will serve by the Emperor`s side.
Defeat[]
Eventually, the Emperor will meet his end at the hands of a Jedi Knight, as the vision Scourge witnessed foretold, and peace will be restored to the galaxy.
Appearance[]
The Sith Emperor resembles that of a typical Dark Jedi outfit, with a Sith Pureblood face with red eyes, though when he was young he was born with black eyes. He also wields a red lightsaber.
Personality[]
Even as a boy, Tenebrae was a cruel, ruthless, and sadistic child. He murdered his stepfather at a young age and tortured his mother slowly to death. He even went far as to consume his homeworld and become immortal. The Sith emperor cares for no one but himself. He eventually would meet his end at the hands of a Jedi Knight.
Trivia[]
- There are a few plotholes about Vitiate in the fanfilm.
- Though he was currently a Sith pureblood in the present day, in a flashback it shows him to be a human.
- In the same flashback, though it was said that Tenebrae`s parents are not force sensitive, there is a seen in which Tenebrae`s stepfather uses force lightning on his wife.
- In another flashback, Tenebrae confronts his father, but it shows Dramath to be human while it was established that they both are clearly Sith Purebloods.
- He was modeled after a traditional Dark Jedi model from the KOTOR games.
- Unlike the Legends canon version, this version of Vitiate does not have a throne, but instead, meditates while standing.
