Void Steve was born generations ago as a Blue Steve named Seer. Although not much was known about his history, Seer was capable of building advanced machinery, presumably for the good of all Steves, and was a talented engineer. He had also established a friendship with a race of beings known as the Giants.
Meeting Colle and dealing with Dread Steve[]
Seer introduces himself to Colle.
One day, Seer arrived at the cave the Giants lived in to help with summoning their creator: Dream Steve, and met Colle, a Red Steve, who was surprised to know about the Blue Steve's existence and that Seer came from the world where good Steves pass on. Colle quickly explained that throughout the past few days, various Steves had been corrupted and infected by a great evil known as Dread Steve. Knowing that Seer was able to sense spirits, Colle successfully recruited Seer in his mission to summon Dream Steve and left the cave to head through a nearby portal leading to the village of the Winter Steves. As Seer and Colle arrived, they headed to the house of Winter Steve where the Winter Leader was infected with Dread Steve's corruption. As Seer approached the Winter Leader and used his spiritual sensing abilities, he deduced that the Winter Leader was being exposed to his worst nightmares. Seer and Colle left soon after and climbed the mountain to the top where they found a ritualistic summoning circle where Seer proceeded to call out to Dream Steve, summoning him.

The three arrived back at the Winter Village and entered the basement where the Winter Leader was being held to cure him. Dream Steve sent both Colle and Seer inside due to having to hold the connection between reality and the Winter Leader's mind. As the two entered, they found a fireplace that began to quickly spread across the area until they discovered the Winter Leader. As Seer went to keep an eye on the fire, Colle tended to the Winter Leader and helped him to overcome his fears as the fire continued to spread. However, the Winter Leader overcoming his fears lead to his infection burning away, freeing him from Dread Steve's control. Before they could rest, Genesis arrived and informed Colle that the Ocean Leader had been corrupted as well, forcing him, Dream, Colle and Seer to head off to the Ocean Leader's kingdom. As the three inspected the corruption, Dream opened up the gateway between reality and the Ocean Leader's mind and allowed for Colle and Seer to enter. They arrived in a desolate, dry wasteland with the Ocean Leader panicking. However, Seer was able to sense that the Ocean Leader was seeing something that they couldn't, forcing Seer to bring out what he was seeng: illusions of dried-up Ocean Steves. Eventually, Colle and Seer helped the Winter Leader overcome the illusion's taunting and strike them down, overcoming his fears and freeing him from his nightmare.

As the three returned to reality, Colle and Seer found themselves in a dark void with a singular entity residing, discovering it to be Dread Steve. Dread revealed that he was thankful for Colle accidentally releasing him when he fought the Corrupted Giant, but before he could do anything, Dream Steve arrived and took Seer out, sparing him from Dread, before Dream came back to take Colle back. Seer, Dream and Colle were then teleported to the outside of the Red King's house as Seer took in the atmosphere, revealing that World Beyond was nothing like the Overworld. The three eventually found the Red King, who was also corrupted by Dread Steve. As the two entered his mindscape, they discovered fragments of the Red King's history before finding the Red King himself confronted with an illusion of Colle that was degrading him. Knowing that this was personal for him, Seer stood back and allowed for Colle to confront his illusion counterpart and help the Red King recover and bring him back to reality.
Seer kills Dread Steve in a fit of rage.
Afterwards, Dream Steve teleported them to the Desert Steve Village where they found the remaining Forest Steve's infected and being surveyed by Genesis. As Dread Steve's influence began spreading more, Dream realized that they had to take the fight to Dread himself. Before leaving, Seer confronted Colle about what Dread said to him during their confrontation and could tell that he had said something to shake Colle up. Colle revealed that Dread had asked him what his greatest fear was, confirming that Dread spreads his influence through doubt, concerning Seer as the two set off to the Diamond Steve Stronghold. Eventually they found the Obsidian Steve's and Colle managed to recruit the Obsidian Captain to their cause and brought him down into the Diamond Steve Stronghold where they found Dread Steve waiting for them. Dread managed to incapacitate Colle and Seer, showing them illusions. However, while Dread showed Colle his greatest fears, Dread showed Seer visions of his future, which was completely devoid of light and goodness. Eventually, Seer managed to wake up and help Colle, the Obsidian Captain and the Judge in the fight against Dread Steve. Although he was on his last bit of life, Dread claimed that there was something far worse than him waiting for the group after his death. However, Seer, full of hatred, exclaimed that Dread needed to die and struck him down with lightning, killing him. Seer apologized for his hasty actions and he and Colle left the Diamond Steve Stronghold where they found Dream Steve atop the mountain nearby.

As the two climbed the mountain, Dream revealed that he was dying due to having his life tethered to Dread Steve's. As Seer broke down due to blaming himself for killing Dread and causing Dream to fade away, Dream reassured him that everything would be okay, telling him that he saw his dreams where he would go on to "control evil and make it no more". Dream thanked him and Colle for doing good and peacefully faded away as the two began to blame themselves for his death. Colle was furiously upset, as he had already lost so many people due to The Last Inferno, but Seer reassured him and told him not to blame himself, deciding to take the blame and return to the Obsidian Citadel to rest.
Becoming Rainbow Steve[]
Seer reveals the existance of the Demon Steves.
Several days after Dream Steve's death, Seer attempted to speak to Colle about opening up about what Dread Steve subjected him to after giving him some space. Colle immediately rebutted by stating the Seer had been staying equally quiet about what he saw, preferring to lock those thoughts away. Colle apologized for snapping and the two decided to head off to the Desert Village to check on the Forest Steves that were corrupted. However, as they left, unbeknownst to them, they began to repeat the last few moments before they left until their third run, where Colle asked if something felt off, although Seer felt as though everything was okay. Before they could teleport, the Obsidian Captain ran up to them and explained that the something was wrong. The Obsidian Captain teleported them to the throne room as he went off to fight something that Colle and Seer were unable to see and hear. The Obsidian Leader explained that the citadel was under siege from unknown forces. Although Colle had no idea as to what was going on, Seer clocked what was going on, but was teleported away with Colle to the Red Kingdom before he could explain. Colle excused himself from interacting with the Elite Leader, concerning Seer as he asked if Colle's strange behavior was because of Dread Steve. Seer became frustrated, stating that Colle agreed to talk about it "later" and that "later" had yet to come, stating that he'd open up about what he saw if Colle did as well. Colle agreed, but was more focused on what was happening currently, leading to Seer explaining that they were being invaded by entities known as Demon Steves, the souls of dead Steves who were sent to the World Below for their misdeeds and were capable of altering reality.
Seer talks about what he saw in his mind.
Eventually, the rest of the Red Elite arrived and Colle divulged on what was happening with the Demon Steves. Goggles asked if Colle was feeling alright, causing Colle to snap at him before apologizing, upsetting Seer as they teleported to an empty grassy area. As Seer asked if Colle was alright, Colle snapped back, wondering how Seer was staying to composed after what he was exposed to and figuring that he hadn't gone through anything too bad, angering Seer as he explained that Colle didn't see what he did. Colle asked if Seer wanted to open up, upsetting him more as he asked if he really wanted to know. Seer slowly composed himself and told Colle that he was shown a glimpse of his future, which was dark. As the two fell silent, Seer told Colle that he wanted to help him and couldn't stand seeing him hurting. Colle reciprocated, but told Seer that he wanted to wait a bit longer before telling him the full extent of what he saw. Seer decided to go back to the World Beyond to check on how things were going and bid farewell to Colle.
Colle, Seer and Indigo Steve.
Several minutes later, Seer returned with a solution to combating the Demon Steves and presented a Blue Crystal, explaining that the Blue Crystal is the strongest Blue Steve who sacrificed himself to transform into it, preventing him from passing on but allowing him to live as a sentient crystals and bestow his powers onto people. Seer proposed that they create the other crystals and infuse them into a Steve to create a superpowered Hero that would destroy the Demon Steves. Colle announced the plan to the other Steves as the leaders agreed to the plans and headed off to their kingdoms. Seer and Colle went to the Middle World in order to get their Indigo Steve friend to transform into the Indigo Crystal due to him being the strongest Indigo Steve because of his time cursed by the First Enemy as the Ruin, although Seer was highly uncomfortable in the environment. As Colle stressed out over the potential loss of Indigo, Seer comforted Indigo. Colle and Seer asked if Dream Steve had passed on, and Indigo reassured them that he was in a better place, but confirming that they would instead go to another dimension for their afterlife, much to Colle and Seer's dismay. As Indigo attempted to transform into the Indigo Crystal, his sheer amount of energy and power from his curse as the Ruin and healing by Alex instead created the Indigo Crystal by itself, altering his appearance as he left soon after.
Seer offering himself to become Rainbow Steve to make up for Dream Steve's death.
Colle and Seer returned to the Red Kingdom and approached the Elite Leader, who explained that Goggles was creating a machine that would infuse the crystals with a Steve. Goggles then revealed that he would require a volunteer to become the Hero, and Seer, feeling immensely guilty for causing the death of Dream Steve and indirectly unleashing the Demon Steves after killing Dread Steve, offered himself up to become the Hero in order to make things right. Although he was reminded that he could die, he wasn't deterred and accepted to become the Hero. Goggles told Colle that he only had to create the Red Crystal from the Red King and took Seer with him to the machine as Colle went to sort things out with the Red King.
Seer becomes Rainbow Steve.
When Colle returned with the newly created Red Crystal, he found that Goggles had set up a machine to transfer the crystals into Seer, and although Colle was hesitant, Seer reassured him that this was what he wanted to do. Before Seer could get in the machine, Colle pulled him aside to discuss what happened with Dread Steve, revealing that Dread had fed into Colle's guilt for previous tragedies that plagued him throughout his journey. Seer divulged further into what he saw, explaining that he saw visions of the Demon Steves coming from the World Below, as well as a dark figure in a cloak who told Seer about things that would happen to him in the future. Unknown to Seer, this was his future self. Colle bid Seer farewell in case he didn't make it out alive and watched as the crystals were fused into Seer, creating Rainbow Steve. Fortunately, Seer, now Rainbow Steve, was able to keep his memory, and he, Colle and Goggles returned to the meeting room in the Red Kingdom to introduce Rainbow Steve to the apprentices of the former kings.
Falling into darkness[]
Rainbow Steve returns and kills several Demon Steves.
As Colle returned to the Obsidian Citadel, Rainbow Steve went off to prepare a plan. However, unbeknownst to Colle, Seer met with Dread Steve due to what he had seen in his future vision, and Dread continued to influence and manipulate Seer into accepting his future. Ultimately, Dread Steve's words got to Seer and lead him to conclude that all life needed to be eradicated. Rainbow Steve eventually returned, destroying several Demon Steves that were invading. Colle reached the bottom of the fortress and Seer revealed that he had talked to a 'spirit' and come up with a plan to push the Demon Steves back into the World Below, but needed time to prepare. The Obsidian Captain opted to retreat as Rainbow Steve went back to planning before being intercepted by the Last Inferno, who had been transformed into a demon. As a last-ditch effort, Rainbow Steve sent Colle into a pocket dimension alongside the Last Inferno where it couldn't damage him, destroying the dragon for good as he was transported out. As the Judge and Genesis returned to continue the fight, Rainbow Steve went into the World Below to forcefully push the Demon Steves back. Although Colle was left anxious and worried, Rainbow Steve miraculously returned unscathed, certifying that the Demon Steves were gone.
Afterwards, Rainbow Steve left and began construction on a temple, intending to utilize cloning technology to achieve his goals. Through unknown means, he finally transformed into his future self; Void Steve.
Soon after his transformation, Void Steve began to utilize a substance known the Darkness, which was the manifestation of nothingness created from the negative emotions of the Steves. Void manipulated the Darkness into serving and orchestrated several attacks on the kingdoms belonging to the Biome Steves, which included the Forest, Desert, Ocean, Winter, Obsidian Steves and the Giants, leaving behind death, destruction and turmoil in his wake and sending the Biome Steves into extinction. To ensure that Colle remained distracted for the time being while he continued his rampage, Void created a shadowy illusion doppelganger of Colle to keep occupied as he allowed the Darkness to spread to the Judge's dimension, eventually enveloping and destroying the Judge himself and leaving only his hammer behind for Colle to collect after escaping his shadow.
Void Steve reveals himself to Genesis and Colle.
Eventually, Void Steve reached the Red Kingdom and annihilated most it, killing many of its inhabitants and severely injuring others, including Beef and Spark, the latter of whom became infected by the Darkness. Void eventually left before finishing the job, but later returned after deciding to find Colle and Genesis. Having renounced his previous identity, Void declined to answer who he was, instead pting to call himself "the Void". Upon asking if Void was the one who destroyed Genesis' creations, Void confirmed that it was him and took sadistic glee in mocking Genesis' fallen creations because of how easy it was to kill them. As Colle gestured for two nearby Green Steves to take refuge, Void hastily killed the two of them before directing his attention back to Genesis as the two began to fight. The two dealt severely bows to each other during the fight and were on equal grounds until Void Steve began to overpower Genesis with his Darkness. Although Genesis temporarily trapped him in a ball of earth, it proved to not be effective against Void Steve, as he effortlessly broke out and killed Genesis on the spot, right as he was warning Colle to run for his life, causing him to drop his heart upon his death.
Void Steve about to kill Colle and the Red Leader.
With little shame or remorse, Void Steve gloated over his victory in killing Genesis and turned his eyes on Colle as he began asking why Void was doing this, especially since the two had apparently never met. But Void, deciding to tease Colle, told him that he knew him very well, a fact which Colle vehemently denied. As Void hovered down to face his former friend, Colle asked why he hadn't left and told him to leave, to which Void responded by stating that he still needed to kill the remaining Red Steves left in the ruins of the kingdom, but Colle stood his ground, much to Void's curiosity, considering how quickly he managed to defeat Genesis, a creator. Colle tried to stall for time by stating that if Void wanted him dead he would've killed him already, but Void dodged the question and instead casually walked over to where the Red Steves were hiding. Unfortunately for him, taking his time proved not to be effective, as most of the Red Steves managed to escape. Void, however, cancelled out Colle's teleportation of him and the Red Leader and instead transported them to the marketplace where he prepared to destroy them both before the two started running. Upon reaching the outside of the Red Kingdom, Void teleported there in time to catch them off-guard. In an effort to frighten him, Colle used the Judge's hammer to shoot several fireballs at Void, but all shots proved mostly ineffective, aside from causing a minor injury to his face. With that, Void prepared to kill the pair before being quickly intercepted by a mostly unseen figure that exploded, forcefully teleporting Void away.
Revealing his betrayal to Colle[]
Seer reveals himself to be Void Steve.
As Void Steve wandered elsewhere, Colle was teleported by Galaxy Steve to a temple that Void had recently set up, containing the Rainbow Crystals, several pieces of machinery and a journal documenting his findings on redstone energy and how to create a copy of a Steve. Before Colle could take the crystals, Void appeared behind him, having anticipated his arrival. Having grown tired of Void's mysterious nature and with the implication that Seer was dead, Colle directly asked Void who he was and what he had done to Seer. To his surprise, Void was taken aback by how Colle hadn't figured out his identity and removed his cloak, revealing himself to be Seer, battered and physically corrupted from the expulsion of the Rainbow Crystals. As he arrogantly presented himself to Colle, Seer revealed his plan to revert the universe to nothing with the use of the newly created substance known as the Darkness. As Colle began to realize that Dread Steve had a hand in his corruption, Seer adamantly denied any involvement from Dread, claiming he chose his path alone, although Colle could see through this and understood that Seer couldn't possibly be so easily swayed if not for someone else's involvement. Upon seeing that he wasn't getting anywhere with trying to convince Colle of his state of mind, Seer instead offered Colle to join him in his quest to serve a greater good. Although it appeared that he had Colle intrigued, Colle immediately went to steal the crystals, only to be immobilized by Void. Disappointed by Colle's choice, Seer lamented that they could've been friends again if Colle had joined him and chose him specifically because he felt he'd have a better chance at manipulating him as opposed to someone like the Judge, but seeing that Colle wanted nothing to do with his plans, Seer instead opted to kill him and remove him from the picture entirely.
Seer bringing Colle to the End before their fight.
Unaware to Seer, Colle had his power and physical capabilities boosted by Galaxy Steve's magic, and managed to break free of his frozen stasis and attack Seer with the Judge's hammer, surprising him, although he promised to go after Galaxy after he finished with Colle. With that, Seer teleported Colle to another dimension for their showdown and brought him to a realm known as The End, which he had ravaged with Darkness and destruction, and planned to make his base of operations once he had killed Colle. Colle quickly noticed that the Rainbow Crystals were gone, as Seer explained that he had purposefully scattered them across the area so he could play a cat-and-mouse-esque game with Colle. Colle told Seer that he didn't want to fight him, as Seer angrily exclaimed that that wasn't his name anymore. With nothing left to lose, Colle attacked Seer with fireballs as he equipped his cloak and told Colle to bring it on, beginning his chase.
Void Steve cowering before Colle.
The two exchanged several blows to each other as they argued and Colle hunted for the remaining crystals, with Colle pleading for Seer to come back to him. Colle was distraught at seeing how far his friend had fallen and tried reaching out to him, claiming that his evil was influenced by Dread Steve, to which Void Steve behemently refused to admit. Eventually, Colle gathered the crystals and became infused with them, transforming into the second Rainbow Steve and continuing to attack Void, but with his additional powers, he was able to easily overpower Void and bring him down to the ground, apologizing for having to destroy him. Before Colle could destroy Void, he pleaded with Colle to stop and told him that he wanted to go back to being Seer again. As the two seemingly reconnected, Void told Colle that he was trained by the Obsidian Steves to never let his guard down and attacked Colle, teleporting him away to another dimension. As the two were transported, Void summoned back the Shadow Colle and made him attack Colle. As the two Colle's fought, Colle noted that Void's sense of morality was warped because of Dread Steve, causing Void to halt the attack and berrate Colle about how casually he spoke about Dread, considering how much more pain Seer had been through because of him.
Defeat and Imprisonment[]
Void Steve destroys the last of the good within him, which takes the form of Seer.
Eventually, Void's teleportation finalized and Colle ended up in a new dimension where he sent out various shadow clones of Colle's friends to psychologically torment him, but Colle was able to resist his influence and tried to escape back to the End, but ended up back in the same room he was in before, before eventually revealing himself. Before fighting, Colle apologized for not properly being there for him and sympathizing for what he went through, hoping that he could've done something else to stop it. But seeing that Void was too far gone, Colle realized that he had to kill him, although Void severely doubted Colle's ability to try. Eventually, Void took Colle back to the End and declared that Seer wasn't returning, and willingly separated the remaining good in him that was fighting for control from himself, which manifested as Seer, confused and scared, before Void struck it down, finally free of his empathy. Now with nothing holding him back, Void effortlessly overpowered Colle and sent him careening off the edge of the island they were on, killing him.
Void Steve's defeat and imprisonment.
Fortunately, Colle was approached by Origin Steve, the creator, and brought him back to life at the expense of not being able to move on to the afterlife. Completely horrified at Colle's unexpected return and the prospect of losing, Void once again engaged with Colle for a final fight, but with the combined power of the energy from Galaxy Steve and the creators, Colle backed Void into a corner and prepared to finish him off for good, but Void explained that if he died, the Darkness would die alongside him, which would release the Demon Steves once again. Knowing this, Colle used his power to send Void into another dimension, locking him away in the Void and collecting an item he dropped; the Heart of Void, the bulk of Void's power condensed into an item. Afterwards, Colle took the Heart of Void and threw it into a volcano.
Now that Void Steve was trapped in the Void, he waited for generations until he could find a way to escape. Within time, Void learned to use his connection to a tomb in another dimension that acted as a portal to create a projection of a ghastly form of his original incarnation as a Blue Steve that would wait for someone to find him Tomb so he could trap them inside the Steves' world and have them play a part in his new plan.
Orchestrating his plan[]
Sabre spots the shadow of Blue Spirit.
After a painful epoch of remaining dormant inside the Void, Void Steve, with his connection to the tomb, was able to detect the presence of another living being, a human by the name "FavreMySabre". Seeing that this was his only opportunity to enact on his escape plan, Void used his Blue Spirit projection to lure Sabre to the tomb. As Sabre was crafting some tools to use, he barely noticed the shadowy projection lurking between the trees until it left. Although Sabre debated just moving on and instead cutting down some trees, he felt inclined to go after the shadow and found it behind a tree, startling him. Sabre tried to initiate a conversation with the shadow, but it quickly walked away, leading Sabre closer to the tomb as he equipped a sword for defense purposes. Sabre chased down the shadow until the two cave across the entrance to the tomb, with the shadow running inside as Sabre stood in awe of it.
Blue Spirit is awakened for the first time in years.
Despite being extremely hesitant, Sabre followed the shadow into the tomb, completely awestruck at what he had found. As he analyzed the grave in front of him and asked nervously if anyone was nearby, lightning suddenly struck the grave as it opened, with Blue Spirit emerging from the tomb after spending an eternity in confinement. Blue Spirit gazed as Sabre as the latter tried to bargain with the being, only for the spirit to warn Sabre of a reality that had previously been sealed away by otherworldly beings. Sabre tried to act calm and quickly asked if Blue Spirit could point him in a direction out the tomb, but the spirit denied, stating that there was no way out, despite the gaping exist behind him that Sabre clearly noticed.
Blue Spirit about to teleport Sabre to the portal leading to the Steves' world.
Sabre decided to act smart and smugly walked around the grave to the exit to leave before realizing that Blue Spirit was the shadow who had lead him to the tomb. Just as he came to this realization, Blue Spirit stepped down from the grave and blocked the exit, preventing Sabre from leaving as he tried to anxiously asked if he could move. Blue Spirit declared that Sabre had freed the beings responsible for sealing the undisclosed reality away as Sabre once again tried to itch his way past the specter, however, Blue Spirit then stated that Sabre was going to end up joining the beings as he used lightning to teleport Sabre out the tomb, transporting him to a stone shell with a bright hallway leading to a portal. As Sabre traveled through the portal and into the Steves world, Void removed the Blue Spirit projection and was ready to enact on phase 2 of his plan; get Sabre to retrieve the crystals so he could create a new Hero and corrupt them into becoming like him. Despite having an unwitting pawn to play around with, Void Steve was still trapped in the Void, where he had created the Darkness.
Revealing Himself[]
After the death of Nightmare Steve at the hands of Light Steve, Nightmare Steve arrived at the Middle World, ready to pass on to the World Beyond. However, Nightmare Steve refused to pass on, and seeing that he was looking for a way out, Void Steve pulled Nightmare Steve out of the Middle World and brought him to the Void, where the two conspired to built a portal to the overworld, which would let the two roam free once again.
Void Steve narrowly escapes from the Void just before Galaxy Steve destroys the portal.
Thankfully for the both of them, the portal was completed by a team of Darkness lead by Reverse Steve, who sacrificed himself to activate the portal. Unfortunately, while this allowed the Darkness to leave, Void Steve stayed behind to watch the final fight between Nightmare Steve and his long-time foe, Galaxy Steve, ending with Galaxy Steve destroying the Nightmare King completely. Now that his main henchman was dead, Void Steve knew that he would have to once again coordinate the Darkness' actions, this time without Nightmare Steve. For the first time in ages, Void Steve saw Sabre, as well as the new Rainbow Steve. As Sabre, Rainbow and Galaxy Steve went to exit the portal and return back to the overworld, Void Steve, seeing an exit, rushed through to the portal and entered within the blink of an eye, his figure barely being seen by the trio as he went through the portal, although they figured that it must've just been the last of the Darkness and that it wouldn't be able to do much as it was only one.
Void Steve encounters his long-time foe, Galaxy Steve before separating him into Time and Elemental.
The three crossed over to the overworld, unable to see that Void Steve was silently stalking them from behind the portal. The three didn't notice Void Steve's presence and left for the Yellow Kingdom, but returned shortly after. However, Galaxy Steve noticed Void Steve from a distance, and instantly went into a panic, chasing Void Steve as he ran into the forest nearby. Galaxy Steve soon emerged from the forest, but turned around, commanding Void Steve to reveal himself. Void Steve complied, emerging from the forest much to Galaxy Steve's distress, as he repeatedly stated that he killed Void Steve. Void Steve approached Galaxy, getting within range to separate him into Time and Elemental Steve before vanishing.
Void Steve properly introduces himself to Sabre and Rainbow Steve.
With the Darkness now on the lose, Void Steve sends the Darkness to terrorize the World Beyond, infecting a Blue Steve that supposedly posed a threat to his operations. The Darkness successfully dominate the World Beyond, but Sabre and Rainbow Steve are able to rescue their friend Blue Steve and exit safely. Unfortunately, they are followed by Void Steve who appears and taunts them into coming out of hiding until Blue Steve steps up and confronts him. The creature mocks Blue Steve's infected friend and tells him that he's gone for good with no way back. Void Steve uses lightning against Blue Steve and injures him, which prompts Sabre to finally step in and confront Void Steve, demanding to know who he is. Void Steve responds that he has arrived to put an end to all conflict by establishing peace across the world. Without any time left to spare, Void Steve prepares to finish off Sabre's crew, but is seized by Time and Elemental Steve, who immobilize him before he teleports away, stating that they don't know what they're up against.
Void Steve manipulating the Green Leader, whom he had infected with the Darkness.
After escaping Sabre's grasp, Void Steve moves on to his plan. Bringing an army of Darkness with him, Void Steve travels to the Green Steve Kingdom and lays siege to it, infecting nearly every Green Steve, as well as beginning to infect the Green Leader. Void Steve begins relaying the Green Leader's options; either concede to the Darkness and give up, which will result in his kingdom falling, or watch as it burns before he dies to Void Steve. Before the Green Leader can give an answer the interrogation is interrupted by Sabre and Elemental Steve, the latter of which begins to insult Void Steve, prompting Void Steve to address Elemental Steve directly, only to get frozen in a large chunk of ice the latter generated, giving them time to snap the Green Leader out of his trance and escape. Sabre, Rainbow and Elemental Steve carry two non-corrupted Green Steves to their boats and try to get the Green Leader to join them to freedom, but he decides to perish alongside his people and hold Void Steve off. Sabre's crew escape and stop near land to teleport to the Rainbow Hub, Void Steve arrives to capture them but is too late.
Manipulating Rainbow Steve[]
Although Void Steve was unsuccessful in killing Sabre's crew, he and the rest of the Darkness were able to decimate both the Green and Violet Kingdoms, the latter of which resulted in Rainbow Steve abandoning all hope after an infected Violet Steve denounced Rainbow Steve, stating that he failed them. As the hive mind of the Darkness, Void Steve was able to pick up this information and decided to use it to gain some leverage.
Void Steve manipulating Rainbow into joining him.
Rainbow Steve willingly chose to try to revert back to Orange Steve, but failed and became gravely injured. Although it seemed as though he was near-catatonic when Sabre and Time Steve recovered him, Rainbow Steve suddenly sprinted away through one of the portals in the Rainbow Hub and ended up along with Sabre in a field before Void Steve appeared. Understandably upset that Void Steve had decided to arrive just as Rainbow Steve was having a breakdown, Sabre threatened and berated Void Steve for his actions, asking if he had ruined enough lives. Void Steve brushed off Sabre's comments and demanded that he let Rainbow Steve speak for himself, as he wasn't talking and Sabre was making claims of Rainbow Steve not wanting anything to do with Void Steve. Sabre allowed him to speak to Rainbow Steve, believing that his friend would deflect everything Void Steve would try to offer, but upon telling Rainbow Steve that he knew he was tired of failing, Rainbow Steve spoke up, intrigued by what Void Steve was trying to say. Void Steve continued, revealing that he knew what the Violet Steve had told Rainbow Steve and claiming that while the Steves were repeatedly falling from grace, the Darkness has only been getting stronger, before Void Steve ultimately asks Rainbow Steve if he wishes to win by joining him, to which he accepts as the two teleport away.
Void Steve meets Sabre, Time and Elemental in his lair before escorting them to their prison.
Now with Rainbow Steve by his side, Void Steve infects Rainbow Steve and takes up residence in his lair, waiting for Sabre and his group to show up. During this time, Void Steve managed to collect the infected Indigo Steve and Blue Steve's infected friend, deciding to hold them prisoner for experiments. Sure enough, they do, just as predicted, and Void Steve is alerted of their presence when the Darkness locates them near the entrance. Void Steve arrives and reveals that he's going to keep Sabre and his crew held prisoner, as well as the fact that he's done something to Rainbow Steve (which was infect him with the Darkness). Void Steve orders the Darkness to take them down to the cells, but unbeknownst to him, Sabre had been granted the ability to break blocks, and escapes alongside Time and Elemental Steve.
Reborn[]
Void Steve was eventually made aware of their escape and sent Rainbow, Corruption and Soul Steve to do his bidding while he stayed behind and began working on the final steps to his plan.
Void Steve meeting Sabre in the Temple to enact on his prophecy.
After ages of waiting, Void Steve finally revealed his true colors to Rainbow Steve and locked him in a machine, intending to extract the crystals from him and be reborn as the Hero again. However, Rainbow Steve sent out a distress signal in the form of a portal to the Sabre and Elemental Steve's new hideout; the Rainbow Bunker. Seeing that this could only mean Rainbow Steve was truly in danger, Sabre and Elemental ventured through and found Void Steve inside the exact same temple where Sabre and Red Steve discovered the false prophecy and unleashed the Darkness. Void Steve wasted no time in letting Sabre admire his work and view Rainbow Steve. Void Steve ordered both Soul and Corruption to block the exit as Sabre revealed that he had discovered Void Steve's identity through the help of one of his old friends, a Red Steve who had long since passed away and who knew Void Steve back when he was the original hero. Void Steve stated that Sabre wouldn't understand and relayed the Darkness' motto before raging at Sabre, claiming that Sabre is his "design" and that he was the Blue Spirit who lured him into the tomb.
Void Steve transforms into Rainbow Void using the crystals.
Now seeing Sabre mentally weakened by the realization, Void Steve immobilized Sabre and Elemental Steve and relished in his soon-to-be victory. Although he commended Rainbow Steve's efforts to be the Hero, Void Steve stated that he would have to fall in order for him to rise before activating the machine trapping him and extracting Rainbow Steve (as he is the orange crystal) and the rest of the crystals, reclaiming them. As Void Steve placed each crystal into its place, Sabre begged for Void Steve to stop, but to no avail. Void Steve called Corruption Steve to pull the lever that would activate the final machine as he stood on the pedestal. Sabre and Elemental Steve watched in horror as the machine activated and transformed Void Steve into his ultimate form, a form achieved by Void Steve learning how to control and hold back the crystals from rejecting him again; Rainbow Void. Now infused with a sudden burst of energy and power, Rainbow Void approached Sabre and Elemental Steve with the full intention of killing them where they stood. However, before he could do anything, he was blocked by Time Steve, who teleported Sabre and Elemental Steve away.
After calling Sabre a pawn on his "game", Rainbow Void kills Funny Orange Steve on the spot right in front of Sabre and Time.
Rainbow Void later appears alongside Corruption and Soul Steve at the decoy Rainbow Hub, stating his intent to hunt down and kill Sabre and the rest of the Steves, however, he's unable to sense anything nearby, causing him to become frustrated with his new powers. Rainbow Void is eventually able to sense both Time Steve and Sabre watching them from outside the walls and commands Soul and Corruption to survey the area for any signs of life. Rainbow Void is unable to find anyone and decides to leave the decoy hub. However, as everything seems to be in the clear, Rainbow Void appears behind Sabre and Time Steve alongside Corruption, Soul and Funny Orange Steve, whom they discovered after Rainbow Steve's funeral. Rainbow Void disclosed the fact that he knew that the two were in the area all along. As Funny desperately apologizes to Sabre, Rainbow Void calls them all pawns in his game and that it's time for another piece in his plan to move forward before he uses lightning to kill Funny on the spot.
Void, Corruption and Soul, the Darkness Triumvirate.
After murdering Funny, Void Steve watched as Sabre's anger began to override his senses, whilst gloating about his point being true; that everything is just a game. Rainbow Void then witnessed Sabre fall to the Darkness and began to use his husk of a body. Eventually, Sabre was able to regain control, but decided to go undercover to gain information from Rainbow Void. The two met again outside of the lair, and they sat down to talk. During the conversation, Rainbow Void revealed he had cooked up a new plan, but that he would only reveal it to Sabre if he destroyed a nearby Yellow Steve outpost. Sabre complied, although he didn't destroy any of the Steves inside the outpost, letting them run away as he destroyed the outpost to make it seem as though he had completed his mission. When he got back to Rainbow Void, he commended him for his efforts and revealed his new plan to have Sabre infiltrate and destroy the Rainbow Kingdom, the new base of operation for all the Steves. However, Sabre interjects with the suggestion, stating that they should first ensue more chaos before the invasion begins, and Rainbow Void complies.
All of Sabre's efforts amount to nothing as no one will believe him, leaving his only option to have Rainbow Void stall the invasion. Although he's able to convince Corruption and Soul Steve, Rainbow Void interrupts as Sabre concludes that they shouldn't attack, stating that he should have the final say. Rainbow Void concludes that they shouldn't halt the attack, and that they would instead attack the Rainbow Kingdom much sooner.
Final battle and first death[]
Rainbow Void was made aware of the attempt to destroy the Rainbow Kingdom going sour and began preparing for Sabre to come to his lair, now knowing that he was a traitor.
Rainbow Void removing his cloak to reveal his true form.
When Sabre did arrive he brought along with him Light Steve and some colorless guards. As the guards fought Corruption Steve, Sabre chased down and killed Soul Steve before confronting Rainbow Void in the meeting room, who smugly welcomed Sabre "home". Standing up from his chair, Rainbow Void expressed his disappointment in Sabre, upset that despite showing Sabre ultimate power, he still betrayed him and was on the side of justice. Knowing that it was time to put this conflict to an end, Rainbow Void removed his cloak to reveal half of his body is now colored rainbow, as well as pulling out a spear. As Sabre denounced him and called him a monster, Rainbow Void replied, calling himself a hero before the two began fighting.
Rainbow Void's death at the hands of Sabre.
Throughout the battle, Sabre commented on Rainbow Void's power and how his minions have fallen, with Rainbow Void revealing that he didn't care at all about them. Confident that he wouldn't lose, Rainbow Void even cemented that he was comfortable with merely being a piece of the Darkness' puzzle as long as he had a use for them, prideful of his position as their leader. Sabre was able to convince Shadow Sabre to lend him more power, allowing him to strike down Rainbow Void and severely weakening him, bringing him to the brink of death. Although infuriated that he had been defeated, Rainbow Void embraced his fate, claiming that he wasn't the end as he served as the gateway for a greater evil, but instead of telling Sabre, decided to let him find out by himself. Using all the power in the Shadow Sword, Sabre bid Rainbow Void farewell as he struck him down with all the lightning in the sword, killing Rainbow Void, releasing the combined Rainbow Crystal and ending his reign of terror.
In The World Below[]
After his death, Void Steve appeared in the World Below where he encountered his old enemies, the Demon Steves. The Demon Steves captured Void Steve and placed him in a test tube far away from their facility where he slowly began to turn into one of them.
Void Steve is discovered by Sabre trapped in the World Below.
Despite the fact that he could no longer communicate with the living, Void Steve was able to be tracked down by Sabre, as he had managed to locate one of the Demon Steves' access points near the portal to the Void that Reverse Steve had once built. Using several redstone blocks, Sabre was able to power the portal and enter the World Below where he found Void Steve, who smugly greeted him for the first time in ages. As it turned out, Sabre had come looking for Void Steve's help as he was the original Rainbow Steve who fought back against the Demon Steves and would likely have the inside knowledge of how to defeat them. Sabre couldn't stomach to look at Void Steve, as the mere sight of him filled him with rage, a fact that Void Steve took pride in. Sabre stated that he had arrived to speak with Void Steve, and that in return Sabre could even help Void Steve escape the World Below. Void Steve scoffed at his offer, stating that he didn't want to be helped. Sabre recollects that during their final battle Void Steve had spoken about an unknown threat that he was trying to hold back, but Void Steve didn't listen and instead tried to change the subject to looking at the view, and coldly told Sabre that he was aware of the Demon Steves' existence after failing to change the subject.
Void Steve speaking to Sabre in the World Below about how to defeat the Demon Steves.
Sabre commented that Void Steve was the one who stopped them when he was the Hero, and he responded by claiming that the Demon Steves were more powerful then any threat Sabre had gone up against, including himself, and that he couldn't even get rid of them. Sabre retorted, stating that Void Steve had stopped the Demon Steves before he fell, but Void Steve revealed that it was a lie, and he had instead created the Darkness during the invasion of the Demon Steves so that the Darkness could infect the Steves and protect them from the demons. Upon realizing Void Steve's history, Sabre realized that the Darkness was the only thing holding the Demon Steves back, and now they were gone, allowing the Demon Steves to unleash their powers once again. Sabre recollected the moment he first arrived in the Steves' world, and that Red Steve had shown him an image of all the colors along with the Darkness slowly surrounding them, and that instead of it representing corruption, it was instead representing protection from the Demon Steves. Sabre stated that he had destroyed the Darkness and was unwilling to go back to it, but Void Steve asked him if he truly had destroyed all of it before being distracted by the energy of the Rainbow Crystal, which Sabre had brought along with him, disgusting Void Steve that he would bring it to the World Below.
Sabre leaves Void Steve in the World Below after failing to negotiate peacefully with him.
Despite the revelation that the Darkness was meant to serve as a form of protection against the Demon Steves, Sabre was disgusted that Void Steve was trying to pass himself off as a hero despite his well-intentioned goals, although he argued that he could as he was the first Rainbow Steve, claiming that he had always been the hero of the story, although Sabre could see him for what he truly was; a monster. Void Steve laughed at the fact that Sabre destroyed the only piece of protection the world had against the Demon Steves, although Sabre saw it as necessary and was unwilling to commend Void Steve or justify his actions. Sabre pleaded for Void Steve to tell him a method of how to defeat the Demon Steves without using the Darkness, but Void Steve bluntly stated that there was none, and that he had searched through every dimension he could to try and find a way to stop the, but failed. Sabre marched towards the exit of Void Steve's prison, claiming that this would be the last they would speak to one another, and telling Void Steve that although he mocked him, Sabre was the one who put him in the World Below, to which Void Responded by asking if Sabre was going to continue being a hero or become the next "Void". Sabre then left the World Below, leaving Void Steve be.
Soon after, Void Steve was given immortality and self-resurrection capabilities by The First Curse and the two began to work together to take over the Overworld, with Void being unaware he was being used as a pawn by being behind his fall to villainy; the First Enemy.
Sabre took Void Steve's advise and recovered the Shadow Sword, along with Shadow Sabre who attempted to help him combat the Demon Steves. The two, along with Light Steve, were able to successfully plug in the Shadow Sword into the Rainbow Kingdom's power source, strengthening their defense against the Demon Steves.
Void Steve, now freed from his prison in the World Below.
After this, Sabre had gone with his friend M to return him to the Red Village, but as he was about to leave the village, the Red Leader noticed Sabre and teleported him away. However, during his teleportation, Void Steve pulled Sabre out and into the World Below, alongside Shadow Sabre. Sabre realized that he was at the foot of Void Steve's prison, which he had broken out of to greet Sabre. Void Steve spoke to Sabre, stating that he was aware that he had used the Shadow Sword once again, although this time it was necessary and a last-ditch effort. All of a sudden, Shadow Sabre told Sabre that he needed to run, but Void Steve silenced him and teleported him to the overworld, surprising Sabre and revealing that Void Steve was now aware of Shadow Sabre's existence. Upon asking what Void Steve wanted, he simply responded by stating that he wanted control and commented on the view, stating that he wished that the overworld was as twisted as the World Below. Sabre scoffed and asked what Void Steve wanted, and he responded by stating that he only wished to have a chat with Sabre. Sabre complied to talk with Void and Void revealed that he had constructed the Shadow Sword to be indestructible. Sabre stated that regardless of whether or not he used the Shadow Sword, he wouldn't let it consume him, causing Void Steve to sarcastically praise him, annoying Sabre as he had been brought by Void Steve without warning. Sabre claimed that he was going to use the Shadow Sword to destroy all the Demon Steves, although Void interjected, stating that even he couldn't destroy them. After giving Sabre more insincere praise, Void Steve teleported him back to the overworld.
Return to the overworld[]
Now that he was capable to break out of his container thanks to his newfound energy, Void Steve could now use his powers to return back to the overworld, but decided to hold off on it for the time being, instead spending his time asserting his authority over the Demon Steves.
The return of Void Steve, who reveals himself to Sabre and Light Steve.
Within time, Void Steve was able to amass a small army of Demon Steves and sent them as a test run to attack the Rainbow Kingdom. However, he underestimated the power of Sabre, even without the Shadow Sword, prompting him to come to the Rainbow Kingdom himself after the Demon Steve fleet was defeated. His return proved to be a shock to Sabre, Light Steve and Shadow Sabre, as he lamented that he was able to return thanks to his new powers. Void Steve commented on Sabre's ability to defeat the Demon Steves without the Shadow Sword, much to his curiosity. Sabre asked Void Steve why he was able to return to the overworld, as it might break the rules they have in the World Below, but Void Steve scoffed and laughed off the prospect of any "rules" in the World Below. Shadow Sabre turned to Sabre, terrified that Void Steve had renounced the Darkness, before he could finish his sentence, Void Steve silenced him for talking over him, confusing Sabre, as Void was now able to see Shadow, only for Void to respond that he created Shadow.
Void Steve attacks Light for challenging his power.
Light Steve taunted Void, asking how strong he could be if he was forced to send a small fleet of Demon Steves to attack them, enraging Void as he promised to show Light, striking him multiple times with lightning and critically injuring him. Furious, Sabre threatened to destroy Void Steve a second time, asking him if he remembered how well it ended for Void Steve last time they faced off. Void remarked that during their last battle, both he and Sabre held the powers of the Darkness, but now Void Steve was blessed with even stronger abilities. Without wasting any time, Shadow Sabre merged with Sabre as Sabre gloated that he would be able to easily take him down, prompting Void Steve to taunt him, asking how Rainbow Steve would feel if he were using the Darkness and that he'd be ashamed of what Sabre had become, prompting Sabre to infuriatingly yell at Void not to disrespect Rainbow Steve's memory before preparing to strike Void down, but before he could destroy him, Sabre, having used too much of the Darkness, fell unconscious as he fell into the Darkness. Void Steve mocked Sabre, laughing at Light Steve before leaving.
Void Steve is found in the Darkness' connection.
Void Steve was later found in a gap between the Darkness and the World Below, encountering both Sabre and Shadow Sabre after the latter sensed his connection. Sabre requested for Void Steve to explain how he created Shadow Sabre, and Void revealed his origins as an extension of his own Darkness, fragmented and implemented within Sabre's consciousness. This, combined with his newfound powers was why he was capable of seeing Shadow Sabre in the World Below. After revealing Shadow Sabre's origins, Void Steve disconnected the connection between the Darkness and the World Below and left both Sabre and Shadow behind.
Sabre, Shadow and Dark Steve are confronted by Void at the colorless guard training camp.
After the disconnection, Void Steve would reappear to Sabre, as well as both Shadow Sabre and Dark Steve, who had been restored to his physical form. Void Steve arrived at the colorless guard training camp, impressed that Sabre was capable of making Shadow Sabre whole. Void claimed that he had arrived to test Sabre's newfound powers and looked down no Dark Steve, calling him a pawn. Sabre stood up to Void, asking for him to fight and taunting him when Void refused, but Void revealed that he didn't need to fight Sabre directly, and instead summoned several Demon Steves to do his dirty work before vanishing and leaving Sabre's crew to fight them.
Void Steve in his palace in the World Below.
Void Steve returned to the World Below where he converted his prison into a palace, waiting for Sabre to arrive. Once they did, they saw that the Demon Steve's taint had began corrupting Void even more that previously, and the latter welcomed the three to hi palace. Sabre appeared shocked at Void Steve's appearance, although he claimed that he was "liberated". Sabre unscathed his sword and told Void Steve that he was going to kill him for good, but Void stood his ground and approached Sabre, telling him to do it, and so, Sabre used his Darkness-infused sword to smite down and kill Void Steve. However, the moment was temporary as Void Steve instantly resurrected himself, revealing that he was no longer capable of being destroyed before teleporting Shadow Sabre and Dark Steve into the Dark Crystal that had restored them. As Sabre protested, demanding to ask how Void Steve had become more powerful, Void taunted him, telling Sabre to come back once he had became more powerful before teleporting him away.
Soon afterwards, Void Steve jumped between the Orange, Yellow, Green and Violet Kingdoms, summoning several Demon Steves to attack them, but they were swiftly defeated by the Darkness, which had been summoned by Sabre.
Void Steve confronts Sabre in a field, excited at the prospect of having Sabre attempt to remove his immortality.
After discovering that the Rainbow Crystal is likely the only item that could potentially remove Void Steve's immortality, Sabre returned back to the overworld and returned to the citadel where he retrieved the Rainbow Crystal and teleported several miles away so that the leaders couldn't find him. Void Steve, who sensed that Sabre was nearby, teleported to him, expressing almost devilish delight in Sabre's announcement of a tool that could strip his immortality from him, accepting the challenge as he knew that there wasn't a confirmed guarantee that the Rainbow Crystal would remove his immortality. Seeing that his infection had grown, Void Steve commented on the hypothetical of Rainbow Steve's reaction to him using the Darkness, but unlike last time, Sabre shrugged off his guilt-trip attempts and seized the opportunity to use the Rainbow Crystal's energy to start removing Void's immortality.
Void Steve is nearly stripped of his immortality, shattering the Rainbow Crystal in the process.
However, Sabre's lack of putting all his energy into the crystal only resulted in a small amount of Void's demon form wearing off. Seeing Sabre's shock, Void Steve mocked his failed attempt to remove his immortality and instead of fleeing then and there, continued to push Sabre into trying again, to which he did, which resulted in the Rainbow Crystal shattering into pieces. Having nearly been reverted to the state of a Blue Steve, Sabre summoned Shadow Sabre and Dark Steve from the Dark Crystal and made them use their lightning to destroy Void Steve, however, Void's regenerative healing abilities allowed for him to fully return to his demon form. With no one left to challenge him, Void Steve simply stated that he was disappointed in Sabre's "pathetic" attempt to revert him to his original form. Before leaving, Void Steve warned the trio of the future of the world's state and arrogantly stated that he had once again triumphed over Sabre before retreating back to the World Below.
Second and final death[]
Having created a special arena specifically designed for his final fight with Sabre, Void Steve patiently waited until Sabre finally returned to the World Below, this time with Dark and Time Steve by his side.

Having ordered his minions to keep to the sidelines, Void greeted Sabre politely and encouraged him to come down without the threat of destruction. Seeing that it would undoubtedly be his final fight with Sabre, Void explained to the trio that he had invited Sabre for a fight due to him wanting to rid the world of the ultimate user of the Darkness, which in this case was Sabre. Sabre was baffled at Void Steve's challenge to compare their powers, seeing how arrogant and power-mad he had become. Void allowed for Sabre to step into the arena as Dark and Time stayed behind. Sabre commented on the irony of rematching, as Void had previously lost the last fight in his lair in the overworld, although Void remained confident that he could still take Sabre on in a rematch. With no time left to waste, Time used his powers to reverse Void's time state, reverting his time state to having Void return to his original form of a Blue Steve, although he instead appeared as the Blue Spirit from the tomb where he and Sabre first met, removing his immortality. Void Steve surprisingly remained calm, as his powers were still functional, which he demonstrated when starting the fight with Sabre as he shot several fireballs at him.
Void Steve's last moments before meeting his death at the hands of his own creation, Shadow Sabre, killing him for the second and final time.
The fireballs caught Sabre off-guard and caused Void to mock him, reciting his request for Sabre to return stronger than last time. Sabre and Void Steve engage in their final fight, with Void consistently getting the upper hand through his superior strength and constant taunting. Despite Sabre duplicating his abilities to use against him and gaining the upper hand several times, Void Steve managed to destroy Sabre's shield and back him into a corner, claiming that their fight was Sabre's last and that he was about to be destroyed as Void unleashed his energy upon Sabre, severely injuring him, but not killing him thanks to his Darkness keeping him alive. After weakening Sabre, Void took it upon himself to gloat before sensing the shard of the Blue Crystal, and promising to take it from Sabre's body after he had killed him. As Void Steve unleashed a torrent of energy on Sabre, Shadow Sabre teleported into the arena, distracting Void as he stopped unleashing his energy and instead happily greeted Shadow, commenting on him as his creation. Shadow Sabre snidely remarked that he was no ones shadow, especially not Void's, and, with a few Darkness-induced strikes of lightning, struck Void down with the Shadow Sword, killing Void Steve for the second and final time as he faded into nothingness.
