W.D. Gaster, or simply just Gaster, is a supporting antagonist in EnchantedMob's Undertale Minecraft animation series, serving as the main antagonist of Way Deeper Down.
He is a monster in the form of an interdimensional living skeleton and was a royal scientist before he mysteriously disappeared. It is revealed that he traveled inter-dimensionally just for his experiments. He is the kidnapper of Frisk and is speculated to be the father of Sans and Papyrus.
His singing voice was provided by Gregory "The Stupendium" Holgate, who also provided the singing voices for Sans and Papyrus from the same animation.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
Not much is known about Gaster's past, other than that he is a royal scientist who is very obsessed with experiments, especially interdimensional and multiverse experiments. One day, Gaster suddenly mysteriously disappeared, making people thinking that he was dead.
However, in reality, Gaster has been traveling between dimensions to complete his experiments. After exploring many dimensions, Gaster became a destructive and malevolent monster who planned to tear apart his own universe and then other dimensions. To completed his powers, Gaster decided to hibernate for centuries.
Way Deeper Down[]
After a human girl named Frisk entered his room, Gaster, who is still hibernating, appeared as a giant skeleton in front of her. Irritated because his slumber was disturbed, Gaster decided to messing her around by throwing her from one place to another using his reality warping power. He throws her from a snow globe containing a Snowdin miniature to the living room of Sans and Papyrus' house.
When Gaster was still messing Frisk around, Gaster realized that Frisk's soul was very suitable for experimentation, which caused him to want to kill Frisk and take her soul for his experiment. Realizing this, Frisk tries to escape, but she is chased by Gaster's hands, who try to catch her. Seeing the exit, Frisk ran faster and jumped to reach the door while Gaster's hands were still trying to catch it. It is not known what happened, however, it is very likely that Frisk was captured by Gaster's hands and made the object of horrific experiments by the interdimensional monster.
Gaster appears one final time in ending A, feeling frustrated with Sans and Papyrus bickering. Gaster tells them both that he'd be leaving, as they were both making his skin crawl. Realizing the irony of his statement, he claims he meant it metaphorically.
Appearance[]
Gaster is a tall, slender figure wearing a long, black robe. Gaster also has his hands protruding out of the robe and has holes in his hands. He is black and white with a distorted, cracked face. His eyes are black with white glowing pupils.
Personality[]
Gaster is shown as a short-tempered but calm person, as he feels irritared at Frisk for waking him up. However, instead of scolding Frisk, Gaster preferred to punish Frisk by playing her like a doll. Gaster is very interested in experiments, so interested that after seeing Frisk's soul worthy of being used as experiment material, Gaster tries to capture Frisk so he can experiment with her soul. Gaster is a very intimidating monster, because he can appear as a giant, dark skeleton that can instill fear in his victims. Gaster also gets frustrated easily, showing frustration towards Sans and Papyrus over their bickering.
