Dr. W.D. Gaster is the main antagonist in Entry Number 17 - Dark Darker Yet Darker and the implied overarching antagonist of Deltarune the (not) Musical.
He was the former Royal Scientist of the Underground who was the one who created the CORE. He fell into his own invention and split across reality. He is implied to be the father of Sans and Papyrus.
He is voiced by Tom Previte, who was also one of two voices of Spamton in Deltarune the (not) Musical and some more minor antagonists such as Dogamy in Undertale the Musical and Ace in Undertale Yellow Musical Bytes.
Biography[]
Entry Number 17 - Dark Darker Yet Darker[]
After Chara destroyed the world at the end of the Undertale Genocide Package, Frisk appeared in the void with Gaster. They immediately tried to kill Gaster once he appeared. He began to question them if they know what is like to not exist. He reveals his intent to destroy humankind in the song, declaring it's up to him to do it now. He repeatably mocks Frisk for being unable to kill him due to not existing. He manages to defeat and kill Frisk at the end of the song. He states he wishes he had determination before saying its fate while saying it's time to change theirs.
Deltarune the (not) Musical[]
Gaster appears at the beginning of the series. He has the SOUL/Player/Viewer create a vessel of their own choice. At the end of the song, Gaster discards the vessel saying no one can choose who they are in this world and puts them inside Kris' body.
Trivia[]
- While in Deltarune, the Voice is an ambiguous character only heavily implied to be Gaster, in this version, Gaster is the Voice.
- In Deltarune, its implied Gaster isn't the one to put the SOUL/Player/Viewer inside the vessel due to the font change, while here he is the one who does so.
