Werthrent is a minor antagonist of Disaster Almighty, serving as a minor yet pivotal antagonist of Final Space.
Biography[]
He is an ancient god-like snake creature from a world called Snake-Topia, Tyrone came to his home world and offered him a new world where he could be worshipped by its inhabitants. So Tyrone sent Werthrent and some of the other fire serpents to the planet Serepentis, but he was using Werthrent so that he would find a Serepentian who would suffer the grief of losing a person they care about and give them powers. Ash Graven’s parents tried to sacrifice her and her sister Harp to Werthrent, only for her to panic and get restrained. She watched her sister get devoured by the giant snake-like deity, then Tyrone granted her telekinetic powers and she killed her parents and several cult members in blind anger. She was being hunted by the remaining cult members, until she met Clarence and Fox and they became her adoptive father and brother.
After learning about the dimensional keys that can free Bolo from his cube prison, the Crimson Light realize that that the second key was at Ash’s home planet after H.U.E. noticed the tattoo on Ash’s arm. At first Ash was afraid of going back, but then she realized she could get her sister back. After KVN tricks thousands of followers in line to sacrifice themselves to Werthrent, Ash confronts him and demands him to free her sister, but instead eats her and the rest of the Crimson Light. Inside of Werthrent is a pocket dimension where all the Serepentians who have been sacrificed were drained of their wellness which he gorges on.
Realizing that Werthrent’s heart was the dimensional key, the team had to solve three riddles from the guardian of Werthrent’s heart, Septim. They make a grab for the dimensional key when KVN unintentionally tosses his forever ball onto Septim, smashing his fragile bones. When the dimensional key was removed, the pocket dimension began to fall apart. Before they escaped, Ash reunites with her sister only to realize that she lost her mind, becoming a mindless zombie enslaved to Werthrent. Ash acknowledges that her sister is long gone and escapes the pocket dimension with Little Cato, and Werthrent is eventually killed.
