William Afton is the main antagonist of Legacy of Fright. Being the one who set the events in actions of the story all in place. Motivating Alyssa Wraith to dedicate her life to exposing Fazbear Entertainment's actions and bringing him down by brutally eviscerating her Father, Jonathan Wraith. And yet he regrets none of it. As he has killed hundreds, maybe even thousands upon his career. Both by his own hands and using his Animatronics. All of this to satisfy his sadistic enjoyment. After becoming Glitchtrap and regaining his Physical Form, he even heightened this by devouring their souls. Trapping them in a state of constant torment.
Appearance[]
Originally, William Afton was that of a somewhat chubby man with short brown hair and a purple suit. Being the look he retained when he was a Father and during the beginning of his rampage. But as time went on, his form began to degrade. Eventually reducing him to a withered slim shriveled elder. Just as rotten on the outside as he was on the inside.
As Springtrap, he became even more twisted. Being the near skeletal remains of William lodged inside the machine. Said machine is the Bonhare suit, also known as Springbonnie due to being a Springlocked Suit. Said suit having degraded due to time as well. Looking sickly green and having broken down eyes fused into Afton's skull.
As Scraptrap, it looks like Springtrap, but now burned and much more damaged, one arm reduced to a near stump with a visible sharpened bone fragment and the other lacking fingers revealing Afton's bone fingers. Alongside that, his inner body has been scorched down to nearly just bone. His suit's lower jaw also is missing its lower half and the lower part of the torso has fallen off.
In his final form, Afton's body is formed from a black and purple amorphous structure. While he can change form constantly, his main form appears as a giant slender humanoid monster with a gaping mouth and 8 eyes. Alongside that, tentacles commonly forming from his body.
Personality[]
Though Afton was once a good man who cared for his family, these actions swiftly decayed after the Bite of 83. While at first his actions could have linked to how he lost his daughter and son, leading him to a mindless passage of slaughter induced revenge, these began to fade away, and when he became a regenerative being due to injecting himself with Remnant, these completely collapsed. Leaving only Afton's inner malice.
Afton wants nothing more than to cause destruction and slaughter to satisfy his own sadistic joys. Enjoying causing pain to his victims and hearing them scream. Ensuring to mutilate Nathaniel Locke's entire family except his youngest son and daughter when Nathan betrayed him. Leaving an unrecognizable blob of body parts and bones. Really highlighting how sadistic he is. And his actions later led the last two members of Nathan's family to go off the rails and have to die.
When he gets his new more powerful state through his Worshippers, the first thing he does with his new powers is kill every cultist that brought him back and then use them as a test to Soul Devouring. A plan he made due to getting bored or standard torture and killing. He wants to ensure their misery lasts forever now. So conjured a strange pocket dimension of sorts with his newfound energy to hold the souls of his victims, causing them an ungodly amount of suffering as their afterlife. As Alyssa described from viewing the dimension, it was like the souls were being "burned alive and ripped to pieces but being reformed to suffer it all over again". Showing how sadistic Afton truly is. And his sole reason for wanting to do this is not from the pain he has endured, it's just because he can.
Afton's defining feature besides his immense sadism is his narcissism. He sees himself as an ultimate being. Even so far as to say he is the God beyond God himself. He also is quick to act aggressively when things do not go his way. Quickly lashing out in a mad rage and resorting to torture instead. Showing him to have a massive ego. His end goal also is to wipe out all life on the planet and make a lawless warring world that he rules over. The souls of those who die he will torture like he plans to do to the world's current beings.
Afton is also good at manipulation and charisma. Able to appear charming and trustworthy to manipulate people into trusting him. Either as victims or as servants of him. Though either way, it is likely one who follows him will end up dead. Either by the one he wants dead or by him when his followers wear out their usefulness.
Overall, in spite of his manipulations and sadistic joys, Afton shows himself to be a man with a childish viewpoint. Being violent and short tempered and also very arrogant. Really showing himself to be able to snap quite easily due to his egotism. Said egotism is another childish aspect of him, for he is quick to attack when he doesn't get his way.
Powers & Skills[]
Usually, Afton is known for his manipulation, he is charismatic enough to have others do what he desires mostly. Or to lure kids into thinking he is a mascot when he used the Springbonnie Suit, only to kill them when they least expect. Alongside that, he was skilled with machinery and planning said machines. But despite that, he was still human. Until he injected himself with Remnant
With his Remnant injection, he became immensely superhuman. Agile and strong beyond a basic human and able to regenerate most if not all damages. Ascending him far beyond a normal human.
Alongside this, William Afton is a Voidwalker. A part of Dreamwalkers, people who have strange powers. His is the ability to control machines and electricity. Allowing him to ensure the animatronics he makes do whatever he chooses. And he can fire out electricity he draws from as a direct weapon.
After reforming a new body, William Afton became far more powerful. Able to shapeshift his body in any way he chooses and manipulate energy around him. He can also create illusions of things to trick people or break their sanity. But his most notable power is a twisted one. He used his energy to construct a strange pocket dimension around him. He can use this to absorb the Souls of those he killed. Condemning them to an afterlife of sheer agony.
Trivia[]
Dreamwalker Chronicles's William Afton is likely the most evil William Afton in all of FNAF canon and fan history. For his vile actions are not simple shock value and are big deals in universe. Alongside that, he might very well be the only William Afton that achieves inflicting Eternal Torture to his victims.
