Helen, I can never understand why you want to be with that worthless peasant instead of an alpha like me. Why don't you just ditch that useless loser and be with me?
~ William Simmons, insulting Chris Thorndyke and sexually harassing Helen.
HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY ME?! I'M AN ELITE AND YOUR SUPERIOR! YOU LEARN YOU PLACE! YOU'RE MINE AND MINE ALONE! RATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! DO YOU GOT THAT, YOU UNGRATEFUL W***E?!
~ William, abusing Helen for exposing his crimes and declaring as his property.
So what if I sabotaged him? He deserved it for being in my way of my rightful promotion and my Helen. He's just a worthless loser who will never get anywhere in life. And I'm an elite and his superior, I can do whatever I want. Helen should be grateful to have me and not him.
~ William's last words, confessing to what he did to Chris and not showing remorse for it but instead bragging about it and showing his obsession with Helen.

William Simmons is the central antagonist of the 2022 horror-comedy film Sonic EXE: Gotta Go Bash, a horror parody of Sonic the Hedgehog. He is the antagonistic rival of the protagonist Chris Thorndyke and always likes to sabotage him out of selfish jealousy towards him. He also is obsessed with Helen, who loves Chris and hates William.

He is played by Adam Brody.

Sonic EXE: Gotta Go Bash[]

William first appears bullying Chris at work and making inappropriate comments towards Helen, who he has a crush on but is disliked by her for his horrible behavior. He gets away with it due to being favored by the abusive supervisor Saul Hitsberg.

After Chris reunites with Team Sonic, Chris' life improves and so does his job, much to William's jealousy.

However, him and Hitsberg plotted against Chris and sabotage him while William gets all the credit. Chris confronts William over this but Hitsberg takes William's side and wrongfully fires Chris, much to Helen's dismay.

Outside the workplace, he watches in amusement as Stacy Suka sexually harassed Chris and also inappropriately flirts with Helen, who angrily brushes him off.

The next day, he hears about Hitsberg's death and got shocked but only to care more about losing a potential ally instead of being worried about a serial killer on the loose. However, he's pleased that Helen quit work because he doesn't think that women work.

At night, he drives by the Thorndyke mansion but sees Helen's car. He gets through the gate and is angered to see Chris and Helen together. Out of selfish revenge, he trashes Chris' car and leaves very offensive insults on it.

The next morning, he attends breakfast with his co-workers but then Chris and Helen appear, warning them about Sonic. However, they didn't believe them and laughed at Chris but William was the most one laughing and insulted Chris before sexually harassing Helen again by rudely telling her to ditch Chris and spend more time with him. However, Helen angrily rejects him and confronts him over sabotaging Chris just to get be better than him and to get her. He scoffs at her and claims that she doesn't have proof but she takes out a recorder and reveals his true nature to everyone, making them disgusted. However, he grabbed it and stomped on it before angrily slapping her to the ground and abusive demanding her to know her place while claiming her as his property but Chris stands up for her by punching William across the face and knocking him to the ground, earning claps from everyone. Mr. Kintobar apologizes to Chris for the wrongful termination and angrily fires William for sabotage. William get angry at this and unfairly blames Chris for this when it was his own fault that he got fired but everyone finally calls him out for his attitude and admit to being sick and tired of it. Helen then finally admits that she never liked William at all and will always love Chris. However, Sonic appears and Chris tries to calm him down but Sonic angrily refuses to listen to reason. William chooses to stupidly insult Sonic by asking if he's some kind of freak but Sonic smirked and claims that he's an upgrade to all living beings before angrily pinning William's hand to the table with a knife. This scares everyone and they run off screaming while Chris, his friends, and boss all escape as well, leaving William behind. Sonic then knocks out William.

When William wakes up, Sonic has him tied up and confronts him over the sabotage. William smugly admits it and shows no remorse for it but instead enjoyed doing it and had also done it to get Chris out of his way of getting a promotion and having Helen. He then even claims that he's an elite and Chris' superior before also thinking that Helen should be grateful to have him as her admirer and declares as only his, rather she likes it or not. Disgusted by him, Team Sonic had heard enough and decided to punish him for good by feeding him a mixture of rat poison and drain cleaner. He protests but Sonic sadistically tells him that he doesn't have a choice before they then shove a funnel down his throat and pour the poisonous materials down it. William starts to choke up blood from his mouth until he finally dies slowly and painfully from the poison. Team Sonic then removes the funnel and untie him, deciding to pin the crimes on him. They then take his keys and steal his car.

After the murders were stopped and the team were brough back to normal, the police decide to protect the team's existence and pin the blame on William, who's body was found by other people and was believed to have committed suicide in order to avoid getting caught.

Personality[]

William is an abusive, manipulative, selfish, greedy, arrogant, spoiled, xenophobic, and misogynistic bully and liar who will do anything to make Chris' life miserable and be better than him at anything while also having Helen to himself, despite Helen hating him for his horrible nature.

He also doesn't even care about the killing spree and only cares more about his obsession with upstaging Chris while also being willing to sabotage him and trashing his car.

Trivia[]

  • Due to his actions and attitude, he is hated by everyone, even his actor.
  • When his death came, everyone actually cheered it on due to how horrible he is.
  • The scene where Chris punched him for slapping Helen became a fan favorite scene for feminists who hate him.
  • He similar to Yul from Disventure Camp since their both unlikable bullies who are hated by everyone they meet for their attitude, they have no redeeming qualities, they both get unfairly angry at justified criticism for their attitude, and they both get defeated by getting poisoned. However, the difference is that William is obsessed with the love-interest while Yul has no interest in anyone on the show. Another difference is that William only targets the protagonist while Yul targets more than one person on the show. Another difference is that Yul survived getting poisoned while William didn't.
