Yorick Vanitas is the main antagonist of Heghodge's Goreyverse, a loose fan adaptation of the works of Edward Gorey.

He is a charismatic and sophisticated 14-year-old delinquent who is the archenemy of Amy.

Appearance[]

Yorick is a tall, slender teenage boy with brunette neck-length hair and amber eyes. He also has a pair of thin eye brows. Due to a birth disorder, Yorick is largely obsessed with appearing handsome.

He is usually seen wearing a long, crimson red trench coat, a pair of black breeches, and black dress shoes.

Personality[]

Yorick is a vain, self-centered, materialistic, cruel, and shallow individual.

Biography[]

Past[]

Not much is known about Yorick, other than being born as the youngest son in a poverty-stricken family.

Trivia[]

  • Much of Yorick's characterization was based off of jester and death motifs. This was based off of the fact that the name "Yorick" is often times associated with the jester of the same name in the Shakspearean play Hamlet, which was used to explore the concept of memento mori. To add onto this, some of Yorick's characterization, such as his sadism and his dark sense of humor, was based off of the Joker from the Batman franchise.
    • His insanity is also based on a figurative interpretation of the text from The Gashlycrumb Tinies: "Y is for Yorick whose head was knocked in".
  • Other aspects of Yorick's characterization, particularly his charisma and his hamminess, was based on that of Dr. Eggman. Other elements of the character, such as the design of his sleeves and jacket were also based on the design of Eggman.
